automated message to call "waste mgt."  don't know if it's legit. we have waste mgt service, but i don't think our payment is late.  i guess i'll have to return call... strange that the # they want you to call is the same as the incoming #.  what quality of life are we building in america? we have to be suspicious of every call, email, etc.

getting at least 10 calls a day, hangups. Called and a person claiming to be from Waste Management told me they are having trouble with their system and the local office did not update payments. Did not ask for information. I told  her that I filed a complaint with the FTC and this number is all over the internet and calls from as far back as 2007 showing up as harassment calls for people. She said she would pull my file and correct it. I told her they better stop now as I will keep filing complaints with the FTC. So we will see. Either they stop or I clog up the FTC site! (evil laugh)

just got off the phone with my local waste management AGAIN.  The first time, they had no clue.  The second time, they said..."i see what might be happening here, I'll take your name off the list" and this time, the woman said...well, you had a balance of one dollar and some cents, so that's why they're calling.  I'll credit it and they should stop calling."  So...they are totally affiliated with WM....it's a bunch of bull they feed you.  I (like all of us) am very busy and have my phone on at work...they have been calling multiple times of day -- it's absolutely ridiculous!

Yep, I'm on auto pay too. No way I'm late... Probably related to "This is the 2nd Notice that your vehicle warranty has expired"...But do not give them any info, not even your name. Call the number on your bill directly if you think you might be late! They are calling my work cell which I don't give out for personal bills.

Got a call today it is citifinancial Auto.

Same as everyone else on here, got a voicemail saying that it was imperative that I call this number immediately or else my trash wouldn't be picked up.  I'm on automatic pay and knew I wasn't behind in my payments but I called the office (official number from the bill not this number) and the rep said I was fine and she had no idea who these people were or why they were calling.

The phone where I work gets a lot of call from this number. I don't answer the phone that much, (someone else does) But I still get at least one of these calls a day. Every time, they just hang up when I answer.

well, first they tried calling "blind," the number showing up at 000-000-0000. was on the ph already & didn't hit flash. then they called back with this number & name showing as Private Name with ph # 877-255-1613, then it switched to Unknown name with the same 877 #.

i tried to work out my service & bill issues with these idiots online last month. the "cust svc" person didn't want to deal with this. said she would give it all to "mgmt" & stopped answering my emails & just ignored my existence. heard nothing back from "mgmt" or anyone else. suddenly i get calls today. they are still idiots.

wonder what happened to that guy on "Undercover Boss?" wonder if He knows what's going on?

They claimed to be the billing people representing Waste Mgt, and that they only call if the bill is past due (or something like that)... funny thing is, that I am on the WM ez pay, where WM auto bills my credit card and thus it is never late... be careful

I just got a call from them in KS. I am rural and have no waste management system. lol

It is Waste Management.  I had paid my bill on March 10.  Apparently I was $10 short - so they felt it necessary to call me all day on my mobile and work phone.

Same thing happened to me. They called saying I have a balance due for dates when i didn't even have a dumpster anymore. I checked my records and I indeed payed for everything. I have to call the actual WM and talk with them

I called them back. I gave them my account number for WM and they found my account. They did take my payment for WM and it posted to my account.  I was behind and this was a courtesy call to iform me of that. Not a scam.

Got a voicemail that I had to call immediately if I wanted my trash to be picked up.  Seemed odd since I am on auto-pay and had just paid the bill.  I called WM customer service and they said to ignore the call.

Got a call from this number 877-255-1613. It's annoying call. This is a scam call. Beware. They called my cell phone which is a new number.

I paid my Waste Mangement bill online yesterday, but have received over thirty calls from this number just today!!   Eight of the calls have come in the last 22 minutes and none with a person on the line, of course!!

Called WM and they said that it takes 5-10 days for an online payment to post to their records and that I may receive these calls until that time.

Very annoying to say the least. Calls everyday when I answer they either disconnect or say call waste management. When you call back you wait endlessly on hold. Finally talked to someone today after holding for 16 minutes. I had a roll off dumpster that was over weight and had a balance due. When I explained I never recieved a bill they were very nice in sending me a copy of the bill.

Not a scam just a poorly run billing and collections department.

This is legit.  It's the billing dept of Waste Management.  If you are in Mass., you can call 1-877-255-1613 to check on your account (assuming you are a customer), before calling the billing folks.  They are relentless, as some of the posters noted.  Called me 2 times a day, every day for 2 weeks before I called back.  Very annoying.  And they never say why, just "please call us back".  Invariably, it is because you have a balance on your account (in my case it was for over the limit tonnage).  Request a transfer station weight slip (receipt showing actual weight) before settling up.

Bottom line though, this is not a scam.

called and actually spoke to a representative who said "our system is messed up and we apologize. Payments are not being posted by the local office"...blah blah blah. I informed her that I am getting nearly 10 phone calls a day from them that are hang ups and that I filed with the FTC. She said would pull my file and get it stopped. I told her to do it now as I would continue to file complaints, and that there have been complaints on this number since 2007. Very nice, but blah blah blah. OK I am done posting on here, but its nice to know that there are others out there. I will probably be clogging up the FTC site if I keep getting these calls! <laugh>

Same as JC. I filed a complaint with the FTC on this. Waste Management does not know about this.

They will call you and harass you with calls, they say nothing then hang up. They do this when you get behind on your payment. Its kind of like a get even thing with them since you aren't on time.

They robo-call you and ask you to call them back. If you do, you're put on hold. I didn't stay on long enough to find out what the deal was. Would love to know what their scam is.

A woman left a message claiming to be from Waste management Services and repeated the number twice. She had a northeast accent.
I have no such account and live overseas. If this is a scam, what is the catch? Are they asking bank details hoping to get an elderly person on the phone? Please report this number to the FTC. I am planning to do so now.

Same thing happened to me.  I was on hold for 15 minutes and while holding was reading this website, therefore I hung up.  What a bunch of scamming jerks!!!

So I'm not the only one. I will call my local Waste Management to see if this problem can be adressed.
