they are tring to make me pay for not filing 0's on tax forms  I had started a busniess selling live animals so when the weather was bad didn't sale anything .  08 went got all my taxs taken care of 09 got a new tax id number.  and they are tring to make me pay $6000 for not making any money in 05 and 06.  it bad enougth state keeps taking my tax each year and won't answer any of my letters or phone calls they have these people calling me that agree I didn't make any money can't get a new tax id if you ow back tax agrees they tool 3000 from my tax and then said that I need to pay them $6000

These guys are calling to collect a debt that is not real. They will say you have a ticket feo, years ago with no proof at all. Look them up on ripoff and you will see thousands of reports. Do not give them any money. They will say they are charging you one amiunt and pull out way more from your card. Scam scam scam scam. Dont fall victim.

This is just to help clarify and simplify things so people aren't too confused.

The agency, Linebarger, is a lawfirm/collection agency that contracts out with two primary states: Texas and Florida. Others may use them, but those are the big two.

When Linebarger calls you, they are doing so on the behalf of a county within one of the above states. So let's use an example - Let's say you didn't pay a ticket in Florida that you got 5 years ago. Linebarger will call you to try and collect it. They won't know anything about your ticket, or what it was for, or anything else - all Linebarger does is collect the money.

If you want to confirm if you actually have a ticket or not, or contest it, or whatever else - Contact the county in which you got the ticket.

Simple as that. They ARE a real agency. They ARE really contracted by the government. Ignoring them isn't really productive, nor is claiming you don't owe anything. If you REALLY want to fix it (without paying, especially if you think it's an error) contact the Clerk's office of the county Linebarger is saying you got the ticket in.

calling my unlisted no call list number

I had a message on my voice mail when I got home from vacation.  They number they left was 877-304-6848.  I can see from this site that anyone calling from this number is working with the state of Oklahoma.  I have also received some letters in the mail this week from a company stating they need me to reply with my correct address for undeclaired funds in Oklahoma.  I moved out of Oklahoma 15+ years ago and I do not owe or an owed anything.  Seems like a scam

just got a call from this number said they were looking for a Darryl Jones, I said wrong number and they said was I relative of Darryl Jones, I said no and hung up.  Hope they do not call again

Yep, I have an unpaid traffic ticket with Precinct 5 in Harris County. These are the guys calling me as well.

They are a firm that buys old debts ... and ... they represent debt collectors. They used to be an honorable law firm who oversaw "tax issues" with several counties in a couple of states ....
Times must be hard ... this outfit goes after anyone for no matter what.

I don't have any tickets anywhere but I believe they are calling about student loans.  Regardless, they are a collection agency for sure.

I keep getting calls but when I answer there is a "click" on the line and then a hang up. It happens at least once every day. I am not in collections anywhere - and, well, it freaks me out.

I have recived numerous calls from this number.

They called  me but I didn't answer because they've been telling us at school not to answer any calls from any numbers that begin with 8.  I'm a student and I have no bills or any business with any company, why would they be calling me?  I'm not even 18.  I get calledby these guys everyday and it's getting annoying.

Someone called from this number and asked for Karen. I told her there was no Karen here and she didn't believe me.  She said her name was Crystal from Linebarger Law Firm and wants Karen to call her at 877-249-8299 ext.132.  She refused to tell me why she was calling.  From what I could find out on the net this is a collection agency.

LGBS goes after individuals who have not paid their outstanding traffic and parking violations- it's not fair to the citizens that take care of their traffic tickets!! If you get a call and you are not this individual then you should let them know and ask for your number to be removed.

They call and don't leave a message so I don't know what they are calling about.  After reading all of these I won't answer if they aren't going to leave a message.

Like others, I've received many calls with nobody on the line.  I called the number given in the top post.  The folks at Linebarger said they could not find my name or phone number in their system.  Nor could they explain why they keep calling.  Her suggestion... "just ignore calls from this number."

Called for the first time today.  I didn't answer, was on another call and they didn't leave a message.  I tried calling the number back because I didn't recognize it and this is a business phone, got a recording that says this number doesn't accept incoming calls.  I'll see if they call back.

They are a debt collector for medical bills, if you go to a public hospital and can not pay the hospital will send your bill to collections.  They are based out of Houston, I did not know that they did collections for medical debt. They sent me a letter stating that I owe the hospital close to $2000.  I told those idiots at the hospital that I did not have medical insurance & if I had it I would have went to a private hospital.  I will ask for a validation of debt.  I wonder how they are going to respond, because there are laws (I think they are called HIPPA) where a persons medical history and records are private.  If they get access to my medical records I will sue them for violating the law. How do they expect an unemployed person to pay. When I did receive a call the person on the other end had a very smart mouth and I told her not to call me at this number and I did end up cursing her out and I never received another call from them.

Someone keeps calling looking for someone else "Wendy Baker" who doesn't live here and whom I do not know.  They claim to be from "Education Services"

Got a call today, at 10:08 am, Caller ID said Toll Free Call 877-258-5191.   I did not answer, so they left a Voice Mail saying this is Steve Arnold with Law Office of Linebarger, Goggan Blair and Sampson, for James Purcell, please call 877-304-6848, EX 856530, Case ID # 3208919.  Problem is, no lives here by that name, and I do not know the person they are trying to reach.  Hmmm?

WHICH I PAID ALREADY...........THEY KEEP SENDING COLLECTION LETTERS TO ME ADDRESSED TO MY X WIFE WHO DOES NOT RESIDE IN THE SAME STATE AS I OR WITH ME, I NOTIFIED THEM OF THIS AND THE CORRECT MAILING ADDRESS AND SUBSEQUENT NAME CHANGES AND THEY KEEP SENDING THEM TO ME WHAT IDIOTS!

I received a phone call from 877-258-5191. A female told me I owe a debt which seems like not correct, my english is not very good. so they asked my address, I told her. She said she will mail me a letter, including the balance of the debt and her contact number.
I do not get the mail so far.  I do not what I can do. If we need report this to the police office or some other organization? If anybody has some good ideas, let us share and do something.

I just got a call from someone (guy.. don't remember his name) saying that I needed to pay my ticket. I told him yes I knew I had a ticket that I needed to pay, but I'm struggling to keep a roof over mine and my child's head right now, and keeping my child in a home is my top concern right now. I don't drive because I don't have a license due to this ticket.
He said I'll be arrested anyway because I have a bench warrant and STRONGLY implied that cops will just pick me up even if I'm not driving. He then asked if I still lived at my address. When I said yes and asked why, he quickly hung up.
This is the second time he has called. The first time was back in late August/early September.
Is this legit or not? Because they were wanting me to pay through them, saying that I can't pay my ticket through the court anymore since it's gone through to collections.
