Yet again last night at 9:45 p.m. I went back to the DNC website to see what rules governed polling firms, They are exempt from the DNC list. Even worse, since they are not selling anything (so says our government) they are not required to keep their own internal do not call lists. Meaning if you ask them not to call back, they are not legally bound to honour your request. There is one thing I noticed, typical nuisance callers are not allowed to phone you after 9:30 in the evening - so I assume this allow applies to polling firms? Two of my last three calls were well after the 9:30 pm cut off. So.. on that basis, I will be filing a complaint.

And again today at 4:40 p.m.

Am in Toronto. Called today at 9:45 p.m. No caller ID and it disconnected after 3 rings - so a robocall. I don't answer any 800 numbers.

Not sure why they bothered calling me, I'm not going to answer! No message left.

I answered their call and did their little survey weeks ago (regarding my car repairs). They are still calling me... evenings, weekends, doesn't matter to them. They usually call when I'm at work, so I haven't answered again but I'll tell them to stop calling me, legally they have to listen if you ask them to take you off their list.

they are at it again phoned me today saying it was a hydro a live woman on phone i was angry took me away from my work as well this is an old folks assisted living building a govt place and our hydro already looked after it is sad some of the elderly have a hard time to move to get to the phone for a** holes such as this

This number looks to have been working for a lonnngg time by the dates on this posting - and it is still at it.

Apparently they are a market research firm hired to conduct surveys. It seems Healthcare Of Ontario Pension Plan has used them to conduct a survey.

Subscribe to a call block feature or a anonymous call block feature. You will be able to block specific numbers. The anonymous call block will block all unknown numbers and blocked numbers, and prompts the callers to unblock their number in order to put the call through. You can subsequently block the number with your call block feature.

had a call at 9:30 P.M. from this number. I have call display and did not answer. They left no message.
This is late to be bugging people.

Received a call from this company at 10:25 on a Sunday for a research in our community. Told them It is Sunday and we would like not to be disturbed on Sundays.

seems to be Pollara.com (at least, that is what they said)

Have been getting called all times of day from this number since I had an auto claim and took my car in for repair. Read another post elsewhere much the same. I never answer. Since I can't block calls on my phone, I simply added the number to my 'Telemarketer' contact in my contacts listand the ring tone is a harp so I rarely hear it. Any time I get a telemarketer call I add the number to 'Telemarketer' in my contacts. Works well for repeat callers. I kniw right away not to bother answering.

Market research.. they got my number from the collision shop that I took my car to and are conducting surveys on their behalf. Apparently they aren't allowed to leave messages since they have no call-back number, that's why lots of you get the instant hang-ups.

they called again today. this time the caller id says pollara instead of unknown name like it was yesterday. If they keep calling I'll report it to the CRTC as a nusance call

I too let the answering machine get it and they just hung up.  I called back this morning and got a voice mailbox for the "Pollero Market Research Co" and told them off!

The CRTC is no help since Market research, polls and surveys are OK by them!

Tonight I had the same experience as "annoyed by calls" from the same number 877- 260- 9279.      I also let the answering machine get it and heard them hang up right away. My husband who can't see the numbers on call display without his glasses, picks up the telephone regardless and gets extremely rude to the telemarketers, to no avail, they keep calling. I'll be looking into call block, I am tired of these nuisance calls.

i received a call 11-May-2012 at 19:01h from this number 877-260-9279, did not answer it and let my answering machine pick it up. They hung up right away without leaving message.  Obviously telemarketing. BEWARE!

it's a research company that other companies hire to conduct surveys to their customers, that's how they get your number.  Just got a call from them on behalf of the Healthcare Of Ontario Pension Plan to find out how I liked my experience after making a change to my file. Very kind person on the phone, not pushy.

It works well, I have been using it for 4 months now and it pretty much stops all of the unwanted calls, I only get one or two a month rather then 10-15 a month.

Wow, I just checked the rules at:  www.crtc.gc.ca.

Even if my phone is on the National Do Not Call List, they say:

"3. Market research, polls and surveys
You will continue to receive calls from organizations conducting market research, polls or surveys even though you are registered on the National DNCL. These are not considered telemarketing calls because they are not selling a product or service, or requesting donations."

So, I'm not sure it will do anything to complain about this company... ?

I have been getting repeated calls from this number also.  I called back this morning and got a full voice mailbox that is unable to take further messages... they are "Market Research Firm".

I too am on the no call list.  I will see if I can figure out how to report them at D Turner has done.  They have called me 5 times in the last two days... all times of day and night.

Irritating.

Looking for an address for this number... Gov't and Phone company won't take the report because they claim to be market research and are allowed to call until 9:30pm daily (which they have called later anyway!) If anyone gets an address.. POST it. I'm sure I'm not the only one wanted to pay them a visit.

Calls after 9:30pm daily... Woke me up tonight and pretty much told them where to go and how to get there. Also informed that they are violating federal law pertaining to the National Do Not Call List. I have also taken the liberty of reporting this number.
