I received numerous calls from this 877 . Sears said they had declined two purchases, one for $2000.00 the other for 1000.00. So closed the account. I did call the number on the back of my card not the number they called from.

Have never used my sears charge card. Got a call from this number. Apparently somebody is going to town. Spend $2 at Walmart in Arkansas, then 200 bucks at Ross and 300 bucks at GNC. Sears bounced the last charge and called me. Seems legit.

Received a call from this number today (13Jun14). Sears credit card is issued by Citi (or CitiBank). The call may have been due to something Citi detected. That was my case. Pur normal pattern is small amounts. We used the card for a new TV. The Citi rep (a 3rd pnone # in the loop) indicated that was the abnormal transaction, and it triggered the call when the NEXT transaction was processed (a normal small amount, which happened one day later).
You know, some things work the way they should, but we have been spoiled by so many failures, that we ignore the expected funtioning, or have a hard time believeing it. Than goodness that this was a normal call and all is as it should be.
Thanks to others that indicated it was a call from Sears fraud unit. A call to the number on the credit card was the path to take.

100% real called direct number for Sears, went through the call tree and spoke with fraud department. It is a system setup if there are multiple charges on your account from different locations (amazon, eBay, etc.)

Its sears, if they don't get to speak to you they will send email if you gave them a valid email. I tried to use my card to make a 12 dollar purchase on lone last night, sears card denied the charge since it was out of my pattern. They called then emailed when I didn't answer (machine was off while asleep). It is sears fraud service, it's not a telemarketer .

Received a call from 877-274-1249. It came up on caller ID. I did not answer but came here to see if others had received the same call. I read all your entries. I called the Sears customer service number on the back of my credit card. THIS IS A LEGITIMATE CALL from the fraud department. I had three charges from California that were not mine! Got it straightened out and so relieved. If the number comes up on your phone, I urge you to call Sears. The rep I spoke to said they are having a lot of this going on in California!

Funny, I called Sears and was on the phone with them when this call came in. And yes, it was legit as my account did get hacked.

Seems to have been legitimate call from Sears Citibank Fraud Department. Verified by calling the number on the back of my card instead of 877-274-1249.

They left a recorded message that said it is in regard to our Sears Gold Card. We don't have a gold card.

I rec a call tonight from this # stating they were representing the fraud dept for Sears/Citibank
They asked a few key questions. They provided me with answers and then reported to me that Someone had used my card, they gave me a specific charged amt and a location 800 miles from my home
I had to verify I had not been the one to do so or authorize anyone else to do so.
Then I agreed to prosecute and close my acct out to protect my identity.
Since I had not used the card in 60 days... I knew without question it was fraud.
To be smart I Verified by calling back Sears/Citibank customer service and this is a VALID # for their fraud dept.
You cannot call in to that number you must call the cust service# on the back f your card and they will transfer you over... BUT all the changes the first Fraud Rep made were completed, and verified by the
Customer service rep.
I did tell them I almost did not take the call tonight because it came in as a 1-800 and I am on a do not call list.

It's a phishing fraud folks - I confirmed it with Sears!!
| ME 2013-05-12 02:00:32 Unknown |
This is the Sears card holder account services fraud department. They call if you make a questionable purchase just to make sure your card has not been stolen. They will leave a message with your name if you do not answer. This is not a telemarketer even though the number shows up as toll free service. I wish they would list the number as Sears and that would solve all the confusion.

I received 6 calls from this number. I answer, say hello, then nothing. I hang up immediately. I am on the do not call list.
