Debt Collector
We never answer calls from numbers we don't recognize. If they are debt collectors I'm not sure why they are calling me as I am retired and have no debt now or in the past. At any rate it's still a pain that they keep calling. These so called debt collectors are scum.

There is a market for uncollected debts. If one company finds out that the debtor is no longer at your number, the sell the debt to another collector and do not tell them that the phone number is not of the debtor. If they say that the number no longer reaches the debtor the sale price of the debt would be much less.

Debt Collector
A friend received a letter from these people with this number at my house.  It offers settlement on an "AT&T Mobility" debt of well over $1,000.00.   When he called, they stated it was from 2007.  It is not his debt.  I called and told the individual, who did speak English, the situation and told him it the situation sounded like fraud on someone's part.  He promptly disconnected the call.   When my friend made the first call, the service rep asked for his SSN or driver's license number.   To spend time dealing with situations and people like this should be accompanied by payment--from them!

Call every few days and never leave a message...I finally called back today (EOS CCA), lady asked for my first name only to see if the call was intended for me (didn't tell me who they were actually trying to reach).  She said the call wasn't meant for me and she'd "flag the number" so I would not be called again.  We shall see.

I would suggest reporting them with info. listed above and it is against the law for them to call you before 8:00AM or after 9:00PM and they do it all the time! Evidently the law does nothing about it,cause I've been harassed for  2 frikken years and dam sick of it!! There are soo many links like this posted!

Debt Collector
As I've posted before, I've received numerous calls from this number with no messages. Got out my fancy gizmo for my digital recorder and started answering the phone with "Hello, this call is being recorded", and the other end immediately hangs up. I even called back the number and recorded who answered.  I must have done 3 FTC complaints already.  Found out the company calling from other comments on this site, plus found a website for a lawyer looking for those harassed enough to want to file a formal suit. I sent the company a letter giving them all the details, including the lawyer looking to file suit, and advised them to stop calling as everything will be recorded and filed with the FTC.

So today I get a formal 'notice of collection' from these same idiots, listing an old AT&T cellphone bill problem I had back in 2003, along with a bit of interest. Not only is the debt over 10 years old, but guess they're hoping that I'm not smart enough to remember that it was totally cleared in 2004.  Guess maybe hoping that I'll panic and maybe begin paying on it.  I'm now in the process of writing a letter advising that we both know it is an 11 year old debt, and was cleared up some 10 years ago. I will formally state that I will be recording all phone calls from suspicious or 'Out of Area' type phone calls, including hangups, and send copies of the audio to the FTC. I will also be happy to forward copies of all written correspondence to both the FTC and to the lawyer encouraging people to sign up with them against this caller.

So I've done my part, advised them the debt isn't valid and to STOP. Also told them that I was recording and documenting everything. So if they're stupid enough to continue, I'm going to tap dance all over them, and file a complaint with every agency I can find.  And special thanks to all the folks that have shared info on this website...

Receive calls from this number at least twice a week, if not 3 times. Been calling off and on for at least 6 months. Usually routine to receive a blocked caller ID Out of Area call an hour or so prior, and also again a couple hours after. Maybe be coincidence, may be same caller.  The caller from this number has never left a message. Last week I got my special microphone earpiece for my digital recorder, and when they called I cheerfully answered "Hello, this call is being recorded...". No response from caller, just a buzz like their phone on mute, then a dial tone. Same thing happened when they called this afternoon at 4:44pm. I called that number back, phone rang a couple times and then female with heavy oriental voice quickly mumbled something that may be the company name, may have been her name. I replied 'Who is this again?' hoping that she would be more specific and I would also have something recorded, but she quickly hung up. Whatever the case, wasn't answered the way a legitimate business or company would answer their phone.  Guess I'll get in the habit of keeping my digital recorder in my pocket, maybe make a blog or Youtube page with some cool title name, and post audio of the calls that I'm lucky to get, along with the phone number and whatever I can Google.  Guess if they get mad, they have to come forward and formally identify themselves, and in the process would be admitting to bugging me with these phone calls.

Debt Collector
This company is EOS CCA, a debt collection company. They have called my home at least once a day for several weeks despite the fact that I tell them EVERY SINGLE TIME that I don't know the person they're looking for, he does not live here, never has, and that I've had my phone number for several years now. I also tell them EVERY time they call to remove my number from their system since it's clearly a wrong number. A woman from this company yesterday who had the audacity to hang up on me as I was trying to explain to her that she had the wrong number and now today I again get another call from them. I will be reporting this company today, they've been told over 20 times that they have the wrong number and to stop calling me. Enough is enough.

Receive occasional calls from this number, though many mystery calls from just 'Out of Area'. Last year made the mistake of finally answering one of these annoying anonymous calls. They asked for my wife, when I told them she wasn't here they asked if I was Frank.  Told them no, they fussed, made them mail something. Turns out they are surfing phone books and websites and calling anyone with similar names to who they are looking for. We're purposely listing in the phone book with last name and initials, not first names, so they must have pulled our info off of one of those 'for profit' websites that supposedly provide factual background info. I got a wild hair and did a Google check on myself. More than one of those so-called background info websites appears to have a listing of associate family members listed with me that more than one I have never heard of. And one listing has my name and address, and a phone number attached that I have never had, and funny that the area code isn't even the same state as the address listed.

So, many of these kind of calls may be bill collectors, and may have partial information hoping to dig for more. But just because your name is Paul and they ask for Paul Brown, or as for your wife by name, doesn't mean that they have the right party they are searching for. You don't need to answer they're questions or help them fish for info. Or better yet, let them scare you into sending any payment for a debt you're not sure about or is well past the 7 year mark.

Do what I do.  I turn the phone on and set it down.  Let all the noises get through to them.  Eventually they hang up, but it keeps them from calling someone else on that line while it is tied up.

i get they are debt collectors but are they not supposed to say who they are when they call? I got a call from this number and the man told me all about who I am and where I live but would only say his name is Richard and he is calling about an important matter, then wanted to transfer me to someone else! never once said what company/organization he was from even though I asked several times 'and who are you?'. I didn't know it was a debt collector until I got on here...

I just got a call which I will add to my block list.  I will now get no ring but will get a list of blocked calls on my phone.
I have the Panasonic cordless telephone  Model kx-tg6842b (2 handsets)
You can block 250 numbers plus kill the one ring that existed on earlier models that only allowed 30 blocked numbers.  If other phone models are connected you will still get the first ring on them.
The one handset model sells for $70 at Amazon.
