Got the same letter, dated 21 May 08.  Incident date 27 May 08.  Sent first class.  I put it in the trash.

actually a letter with this tn but wanted to find out info on it because the letter says one of the boxes of personal info on data backup tapes that get transported to off-site storage facilities had gone missing. funny thing is this letter is 3 months past when the incident allegedly occurred - would you not think if legitimate they would notify you a whole lot sooner? it also doesn't give any names of companies or type of data that would allow you to validate the possibility of being part of this "lost" records. only that it might be shareowner or employee plan related whether active or closed. they want you to call or visit their website and sign up for a year of credit monitoring free for the inconvenience.  I have some time ago did the opt-out thing to stop the accessing of my cbr without my initiating and signing for it to be allowed as it also reduced junk solicitation mail.  I wonder if this is a scam to allow some backroom zombie to access my cbr.
