Just received a call from "Mr. Meadows" this morning, Left a threatening message about the wrong name, wrong social (actually gave out this other persons social security #) wrong address, wrong alias, wrong everything! WTF??? Told Mr. Meadows if he call back there will be a price to pay. Where do these "bill collector losers" get off calling people that actually pay their bills? Disgruntled in Pa!

This caller called this morning and left a message "regarding a NSF check on my account that is in (their) possession."  He identified himself as Mr. Arnold and though he got my first and last names correct, he added a middle name that isn't mine.  Additionally, "Mr.Arnold" called my son-in-law regarding my "problem from my Washington Mutual account."  This is clearly illegal harassment.  I have not been able to return his call in privacy, but my intent is simply to inform him that he is breaking the law, and that I am informing my atttorney nwith the intent to sue.

Debt Collector
Mitchell Meyers is breaking the law if they are threatening you with any type of arrest or criminal action. They are NOT a law firm, just a debt collection firm that has already been the subject of an attorney general action, where the owner, stephanie lowinger was arrested....she is violating every fdcpa law in the book.  she is overinflating debts, and using extortion to try to get you to pay. if she does this to you, please contact the NYS Attorney General's office and report them...i called them at 716-853-8404

mitchell and meyers called not too long ago. They were rude and aggressive! They never actually called me. They called people that I knew. I got the message and called them. They claimed they had been investigating me and my family and had personal financial info on me and those that they had called!!!!! They were rude and as the others mentioned... accussed me of fraud and other false alligations related to a very old loan. They did escalate the amount enormously and even went to the extreme of saying the cops were coming if the amount owed was not payed. We did call a lawyer and the lawyer informed me and my associates that they were breaking consumer laws and informed us that anytime a collector calls and it seems fishy to record the conversation and let them know they are being recorded...also let them know that you are aware of the laws. The sad part is there is a debt that needs to be handled but this company is no good and cant be trusted!!!! Needless to say they never contacted us again...however that leaves us to wonder what we should do to handle the debt that is truly owed and how to avoid dealings with them!!!! They are deff crooks and should not have control over any debt cases!!!!

I am glad you had a pleasant experience with these people. I don't have a problem with paying back a student loan--to a REPUTABLE company. These people accuse others of crimes they have not committed, and they refuse to confirm or verify their identity. This is a day and age where fraud is rampant and people are being robbed unless one is diligent in confirming necessary information. I had been contacted by another company, CRA, concerning this student loan. They told me they only operated electronically. When I refused to give them my bank card #, they gave me a code to pay at Wal-Mart. One payment was made, and I received another calll, stating that that wasn't enough. When I went to make another payment at Wal-Mart, the code given to me brought up a company Diversified Marketing. I called the company, left a voicemail stating that they needed to confirm their identify, in writing. Never heard back from them.

THIS COMPANY, MEADOWS AND ASSOC., ACCUSED ME OF FRAUDULENT CHECKS ACROSS STATE LINES. I KNOW THIS TO BE A LIE JUST BECAUSE OF THE DATES THEY GAVE ME. THEY WANTED ME TO CONFIRM A SS# OVER THE PHONE, WHICH I REFUSED. THEY WERE ASKED TO CONFIRM THEIR IDENTIY AND THIS SO CALLED FRAUD IN WRITING. OF COURSE THEY, IN TURN, TURNED IT INTO A SHOUTING MATCH. SO I SHOUTED BACK FOR THEM TO NOT CALL ME AGAIN, AND I WOULD CONTACT MY ATTORNEY CONCERNING THESE OUTRAGEOUS CHARGES.

Dear Debt Collector, ("Stacy")
I regret to inform you that I borrowed some money and was unable to pay it back due to the enormous amount of grief that ensued after I lost my son in war, and the huge debt that I was left owing on his bills and mortgage. I regret the fact that I lost my job, my home, my cars, and my life basically because I was unable to function as a grieving mother. However Mr. Meadows, who you stated was SOOO helpful accused me WRONGFULLY of despicable things that I have NEVER DONE. Your reply sounds more like a positive advertisement for this fraudulent firm and I am personally going after them for damages, so holla at your friends and let let them know that as of this moment they ARE being investigated by legit attorneys who have been trying to help me get my life back over the past several years.
Signed,
Not taking this anymore!

Yep, I got a call from them today, just an FYI, hey have called me on two different occasions accusing me of criminal allegations. I think I am going to call a lawyer. The first phone call they claimed was NOT a collection call, but that I would answer allegations from the "dept of Justice." They never said U.S. Dept of Justice. Very sketchy and vague info. Just that I was MANDATED to call back immediately. I think the Dept of Justice knows where I live, and I didn't commit any crime. The next phone call accused me of a series of bad checks written by me. I don't write checks, so I knew that wasn't true. They have accused me of committing a crime though, and that is a wrong tactic, they have also been deceitful, which is also wrong.

i did too recv a call from this firm,.,,, i DID have a old student loan which they were very helpful in resolving this w/me.....i know most of us "regular folks" dont like collection attorneys but lets face it if we dont pay our bills this is just the process we should exspect!!! (lol) but seriously the associate that assisted me MR MEADOWS saved me over 4 thousand dollars and also helpd me get my credit report repaired....... i have read alot of the comments and i think its b***s*** that we borrow money and then complain when we have to pay it back...
