Your best bet is a call blocker.  This is a total scam.  You can't really make them stop because your data was sold to them and they will just sell it to some other scammer.  The authorities might be able to shut them down.  

Don't pick up on phone numbers you do not recognize!

Never give financial information to anyone over the phone.  Or e-mail, or anyway else.   Especially not to someone who takes a threatening attitude!  DO NOT SEND MONEY TO ANYONE.  PERIOD.  UNLESS YOU KNOW THEM PERSONALLY.  

If they continue then file extortion compliant with the local police.

Please, please, please!  If anyone is getting call from this number before you call them back or, God forbid, send them any money file a complaint either over the internet or on the phone with your state Attorney  General's office.  I've done this twice over the past month and was told these companies used voice over internet protocol and one scammer was even using a Magic Jack number, which was promptly shut down after the Attorney General's office contacted them.  Call your sheriff's department and clerk of courts in the county you live in and they will tell you there are no documents to be served to you.  AG's office said even if it is a private process server they have to file papers in the count you live in!

Again these low lifes have tried calling me. It is such a SCAM! I have reported to FTC and other sites many times. They get a hold of family cell and home phone numbers as well. DO NOT fall for their scam, they are trying to get money out of people for no debt that anyone has.

I first recieved an automated voicemail stated that I was named in a court case and was facing subpeona. I was instructed to call the number provided and speak with a representative. I called the next day and spoke with some fast talking guy saying that I had a loan taken out under my name for $3000. He stated we could settle out of court if I paid over $800. That he need by the end of the month. He had so much info on me that I was fooled and thought it was my ex-fiancee. I went to a lawyer to nail her to the wall. The lawyer told me I should go to my bank and get the files of anything taken out in my name....THERE WERE NONE!!! I had no loan taken out nor did she use my name. I realized I made a mistake and gave up my card info prior to going to the lawyer. I quickly canceled my card and ordered a new one. I called the company back and got as much info as I could. I let him know that I went to the federal magistrate to see if I had a subpoena...NOPE. I took my former bank info and and told him that I know you are a scam group. He was very quick to get off the phone with me. However, now I am recieving harassing calls of a payment failure since they have the old card number. A card which was destroyed and burned...(on purpose). Please help me get them to stop. I just need some more tactics to get over on them to stop calling me. They are getting a red cent from me...not even the money on my mind.  

Can you spare five minutes to look around this thread before you start another panic attack? Just as a hint, the recurring theme is of thugs who break laws and make idle threats to fool you into paying them money you never owed.

The only people "in trouble with the law" are the hustlers on the phone who equate a defaulted PDL with "check fraud" and make the illegal threats you describe. One more time, payday loans are *CONSUMER CREDIT* and therefore not ever made a criminal concern.

They called From a blocked number todayand left a voice mail on cell said that they were gonna try and prosecute me for an old payday loan from 2008 cuz I committed fraud intentionally when I  bank acct. Closed back than when my ex and i split up and she took everything... and I didn't have the money to pay them back and they threatened to call my employer and a bunch of other crap in there  voice mail so i called and set up payment arrangements but everything on here says it's a scam and idk what to do cuz I don't wanna be in trouble with the law

These low life people are such scammers! They called me in May and I read the comments here and reported them to FTC, etc. They called me today and also got a hold of my family and I called them back and told them I know it is an extortion scam and to stop harrasing me and my family, also told them I am reporting each time they do this.The lady started laughing so obviously a SCAM!! These low life's need to be arrested! They have now stopped calling. Just be aware!

I just recieve a phone call which was Unknown and left a voicemail. To call back 877-318-0965 ext. 301. Didn't say what company the are, but this guy name Jason stated that there is a legal responded pending to my state and a file against me for allegation and that I was officially notified. Who are this people and why are they scarring people like this. Is this a scam did they eve file a stated in your state?

I receive a call from my best friend and they has threaten to sue her saying she was a consigner on a payday loan that I had taken out.  When have you ever needed a co-signed for a payday loan.  I really don't appreciate this s***, people has nothing else to do.  Give it a few days and they will be shut down.  What court are they taking all of us too?

There's a name & a signature of a judge that signed that summons too. With the jurisdiction. Now, don't get me wrong. I don't care about your personal information. You can delete that. Not that it will do you much good. It's all public information. There's nothing to hide. Just give us these peoples names and what is on that summons. We WILL eat them alive!

Both my best friend and I have been getting these calls lately.  They call us on our cell phones and have called us on our jobs until they were told not to call us.  She filed a complaint with the Florida Attorney General's office and got an email last week from an investigator stating this is more than likely a scam, and even if it is not a scam they are illegally attempting to collect a debt.  They use Voice Over Internet Protocol, which is why they can call from so many different numbers.  PLEASE FILE A COMPLAINT WITH YOUR ATTORNEY GENERAL'S OFFICE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE SO THESE CALLS CAN BE INVESTIGATED!  The investigators email stated these people use threats and intimidation to get money from people!!!

Message on cell phone saying it is for Nakita Smith, no one by that name has this phone.  There is a lawsuit pending and need to contact this company, difficult to understand the company name, phone breaks up the message.  Have received multiple calls for this person and want it to STOP!

I got a call at 8:07am and left a voicemail which was automatic voicemail. And said that I need to call 877-333-0361 and I look up the number and it's not found. What fishy is that when they leave a message it's always have different tone.

I keep getting calls from my local area code requesting that I call 877-318-0965.  They have called my office number several times and will not provide any proof of their claims.  I have never used the services they reference and I refuse to entertain their calls.

I just receive a voicemail today from  877-328-0965. It was a automatic recording saying that I will be charge for fraud and they send me papers and court order and I didn't show up. Ummm excuse me I haven't receive anything. And to let my attorney and I call them back at 877-333-0631. It's a scam people don't believe. They are trying to get your money.

Yes I asked for them to mail me info- he said " I can't because I already mailed you and you didn't respond" I said well I'm not paying anything until I see it in writing , he kept trying to get me to say " yes I will pay" I would never ever give my $ over the phone like that. But he also said I will get a summons, and I have to go to court, they have me on camera !!! They won't stop calling, they keep saying this is your "last chance " and then they file to court, but they still are calling me 3-4 weeks later ! +
