This is a scam. You install Apple quicktime viewer freeware. . Then your browser keeps crashing. You remove it from your cache and as soon as you remove it your credit card gets charged.

Also had 4.99 charges showing on my cc for the past 3 months as "FS *xboxmb". Thought my son had charged something via Xbox but the charges showed up even after his account was cancelled.  I've had my cc account closed and requested a new card.

As with many many others I received a CC charge that I didn't recognize. I could have sworn that I hadn't purchased any software and I thought I must have been scammed, but I am burning all my DVDs to a hard drive so they are accessible throughout the house on any computer. I had reached the limit on my free burns and as I had a large number to go I clicked on the "Order Online" button. The charge was legitimate but Fast Spring Software must have had many complaints as they are set up to resolve them all within a few hours.

I have been getting a 5$ monthly fee. It says xbox in the charge on my bank statement. I then called Xbox support and they are saying they've never heard of them. I know what subscriptions I pay for every month. This is something weird and very fishy. I'll post back here when I get the exact reason this is being charged.

Either way it seems like a legit company, but there are still some questions to be answered. Maybe there company is just a cover up. I don't know. Good luck to everyone who has a problem or thinks they do with Fast Spring.

I thought I'd been scammed for a moment but then remembered that when I upgraded my Apple Imac OS I'd also upgraded my 'MainMenu' software which cleans the cache, temp files et. so it was a genuine transaction after all.

If you buy an app from mac store it can be billed by a third party vendor.  I bought macbarrier and it was sold to me by spring.  The was a valid sale and even stated on my bill in find print.

Thanks for this thread, folks. You answered my question. I did buy "Clean My Mac" software, so now I know that's what the charge on my bill is for. You would think they would make the name on the bill more descriptive so they wouldn't have angry customers disputing the charge! (BTW, "Clean My Mac" really is an awesome program that sped up my Mac noticeably. And, no, I'm not a shill for the company; I just like to give credit where credit is due.) Thanks again for the useful info.

I did not recognize the charge, did a search and found this blog, got alarmed and called my credit card company.   As it turned out it was a legitimate computer software company's charge (SmileOnMyMac) for an online purchase upgrade, and they did send me an email notifying the name on the charge would be this different/weird 'fsprg.com' (message below).  Hope this helps.

"Your order is currently processing. You should expect to receive additional information in the next several minutes.   Charges will appear on your bill as: fsprg.com"

Same here.  I bought eMailchemy, but forgot I had.  Then I saw this charge and was like WTF is this?  Which led me to Google FSPRG.COM and end up here.

For 5 bucks it's frustratingly fun to play.

This company is just a middleman service for other software vendors who are too small or don't want to set up an elaborate online store with credit card processing. The charge could be any legitimate software you bought online or it could be a scam and they're an unwitting middleman. They have a form to help you remember what the charge was for, or to report fraud.

I had a $19 charge on my credit card from FSPRG as well and didn't recognize the company so I did some research. The charge was for a program I ordered called main menu for cleaning MAC files. It used to be free but the new version cost 19 dollars. The charge was legit.

Thanks for reporting information on here! I wasn't sure what this cost was but it is in relation to a free system app for the Mac that now charges and I bought it for a low price.

I didn't receive a call, this is more informative than anything else. Have any of you ordered software from MacPaw, such as CleanMyMac or similar applications? It was a little confusing at first but my purchase for CleanMyMac appeared with this phone number on the bill. If any of you have ordered software from their site, this is likely what it is.
