I received a call fro(877) 354-2823 at 11 a.m. this morning.  Said his name is Jeremy & he is with NCO....said a friend (name withheld on condition anonymity) had given my name as a reference!!  Wanted to know my friend's phone number & how to reach my friend.  Asked if the number he had on file was the number I have for my friend.  He never gave the number and I didn't verify any number for him.  Then asked me if I was in contact with my friend and how often.  I didn't give him an answer...then he asked if he gave his number would I give it to my friend.  Now from comments I read here, I know he's a pesty bill collector.

This number claims to be from thed rip off artist NCO Financial Systems trying to collect on a debt.  When you call back you get an answering machine for a Student Loan Company.  Does anything scream more illegal than that to you?

By fedral Law Debt compabies are not allowed to tack on any additional fees or charges unless your state laws say its ok. So check with your state to find out.

I was told to call a Kim Dimarco at this number. I called and it was not who I spoke to. I told them I don't understand why they are calling me because they took the money out of my taxes this year. they said you're debt was not settled you still have a balance of 500 and change. I said no no no What they took out is the balance I owed. What YOU are trying to get from me is YOUR fees and crap that you tacked on. which I am not paying. She got very huffy and said why are you not paying your debt. I said this is not my "debt" this was a fee that YOU tacked on to said debt which is paid. so I will not be paying said fees.

i get calls from this number and just now it called and basically yelled goodbye!
