I just got a call today and while trying to get info i was saying yes to things like is this your name? is this your address? and when it got to please enter your zip code into your phones keypad i hung up and called my bank directly. i told them what i was told and they went ahead and cancelled my cards before they could be charged for anything. the people kept calling me while i was on the phone with the bank and left a VM but when i checked it no one said anything just a guy in the background talking to someone else on the phone i believe. id like to know how they got all my info im worried about identity theft. i hope canceling my card keeps them from using my yes responses to charge me.

(269) 768-2630  Have received 2 unwanted calls from this number in the last twelve hours.  No one on the line when the phone is picked up.  Please tell me how to make them stop calling us.

THIS IS A SCAM. THEY CLAIM THEY CALLED FROM VISA OFFERING GAS CARD IF YOU PARTICIPATE IN THE PROGRAM WHICH IS $$$ PER MONTH. I CALLED VISA TO VERIFY. NO SUCH THING EXISTED. THE GUY YELLED AT ME WHEN I SAID IM NOT INTERESTED.

First off..LUCRE means MONEY.

I have gotten calls from this number, and being from MI, I finally answered it today.  (269 is the area code that my family and friends live in)  I got the same speal..blah, blah, blah.  Then she asked if I still lived in (old home town), I said no, she then asked what address did I want the card sent to.  I then asked, who is this calling me?  She hung up.

I called the # back, went through their automated system, asked to be put on their internal do not call list and then got an 800 # to call and talk to someone about this call.  Which I haven't called yet.

Back before do not call lists and stuff, when I got sales calls, I would put my young (3-5 yr old) son on.  They usually hung up on him (they couldn't get a word in edgewise) and never called back.  It's too bad he's grown up and moved away.

Does anyone out there have a young child who likes to talk on the phone?  If so, can you send me a recording of them, so I can use it for calls like these.   Thanks!  :)

I am receiving several calls from this number and not leaving any messages. Please STOP!!!

5 calls in the last 24 hours.  Answered one and repeatedly said NO!!!  My question is where are they getting their info.  I have made one on-line purchase with a "seen it on TV" company and I suspect that is where the info was filtered from.  Curious if any one else can track purchases back to something like that.

No company name given. They asked for my wife who is and has been at work every time they call. Wanted to discuss her Visa card

Glad I found this thread. I am really pissed that they received my info from a trusted vendor whom I believe to be Amazon.com. I rarely purchase things with my credit card anymore but Amazon is one that I trusted as I have been ordering from them for a long time.

To be clear, I am not certain it was Amazon who provided my info. However, the third party telemarketer calls from Lucre started right after I placed on online order with them last week and that is the only online order I have placed for a looooong time which makes it highly suspect. I'm going to try to find out if it is Amazon because I don't want to unfairly accuse one of my favorite companies. However, if it is them, I will be very very upset.

In the interim, I will file a complaint with the FTC as others have been doing. One thing - I did call the phone number back and if you wait and let the automated operator finish with the message, you can select Option #3 to be removed from their list, which is what I did. You have to type your phone number in just like the Do Not Call Registry. Yeah - I considered whether that was only a ploy to confirm it's a live phone but they already HAD my number and once they start calling they don't stop so it was worth the 3 minutes to do this, which I'm guessing is their cover-their-a** way of meeting FTC regulations.

But you have to be patient and listen through ALL of the options because they don't provide that until the very end. Hope this helps.

They say they're from Visa but they are so unbelievably rude and nasty I have trouble believing it's real.  I suspect it's a scam, and either way I do not want to receive these calls.

I have gotten 4 calls from this number since yesterday morning. I refuse to answer. I figure if it's someone I know they'll leave a message. My phone is registered on the Do Not Call Registry, but this hasn't stopped unwanted calls. I receive them from several different numbers. My advise is to never answer a call if you don't recognize the phone number. Your phone is being charged for that call!!!!

I am sick and tried of these people calling my business phone.  I answered this morning and she
asked for me by my first name.  These people need to be stopped harrassing me.

Incidentally, the little 3 tone alert at the beginning of a "disconnected number" message is picked up by automatic dialers and removed from their call list.

I subscribe to Time Warner voip. On line you can access your "Voice Zone" and block up to 30 numbers.

VoiceZone also allows you to have "selective" call forwarding for another 30 callers. Where you forward them is up to you. I forward them to a recording on my Magic Jacks that has a greeting we all know and love "I'm sorry, this number has been disconnected and is no longer in service, if you have received this message in error, please check the number and dial it again."

In addition, I have a Panasonic cordless system that allows me to block another 20 numbers.

I just hope the callers don't get angry with me - ha ha ha ha ha

BEWARE: Rec'd a call from a man at this company on Sep 8, telling me I a am a preferred customer, etc, etc, etc. They had information about my purchasing habits..Asked them how they got  my # and I am on the National Do Not Call List. They said I purchased something on the internet 12-18 mos ago. They did not care and they were insisting they were sending me gas coupons and all I had to pay was the shipping. I told them "no thank you". They then transferred me to a woman , who wanted to verify information. Told them I was not verifying anything over the phone. The next thing I hear is a "dial tone". They hung up. I would like to mention they are fast talkers and don't give you a chance to think. You have to be faster thinking than they are.

I live in Atlanta, and I received two calls from this number today.  One, I didn't answer, and no message was left.  The second time, I did answer, and the person on the other end of the line told me he was with "Vista Services" and that I had recently used my Visa card and had been selected to receive a $120 gas card.  I told him, "No, thank you," and hung up.  I'm feeling "SCAM" on this one.  Seems like I was getting a spate of calls like this a few months ago from a different number.

Just got a call from this number as well.   I've saved it in my contacts under "SCAM" so when they call back I know who they are and I will answer with " this is ****** Police Department, this call is being traced for fraudelent activity, please state your business".     Hopefully that will stop it.

Beware.  Don't answer.  They will eventually stop calling.  I just hit the answer button and hang up right away so I don't have to listen to the phone ring.

They have called me several times in the last 2 days. For whatever reason, they refuse to acknowledge me when I say, "hello".

I just recieved the call from 269-768-2630.     My question is how do they get name, address and last 4 digits of our card number ??    They talk so fast it is hard to understand them.  After he passed me to his "supervisor" I told him I did not want any charges to my credit card and he hung up.

Received a call from this number today, showed up on caller ID as: 269-768-2630 Customer Service. The man calling asked for a family member, who NEVER gives out this number. Don't even think he knows the number, so I found it very odd this number called for him. Person was a man saying he was with Vista, don't remember his name. I said why are you calling this number, he said for my family member and I got indignant, saying, this is not that persons number. He asked if I was the spouse, I said no, he asked, well is he there, I said no. He said sorry for bothering you. I called the number back and it was, indeed, as others indicated a recording stating,  "we are trying to reach you to confirm an order you placed." I knew it had to be a scam because my family member would never use the number they called me on to place any kind of order. At the end of the message, it indicated to leave a message and a good time that they can call me back. VERY ODD, as I have been on the DNC registry for several years and have not had a telemarketing call for at least the past 2 years, until this guy called today.
