Calls several times...even when I send them to VM they immediately call back. I get the "dead air" everyone talks about for about 5 or 6 of the calls and finally an east indian woman was on the line saying she was from First Line Mortgages. After much prodding and playing dumb she said she was from PC Financial and wanted to know if I was refinancing my mortgage. Basically as BS waste of time.

I received multiple calls from this number over the last week with no messages and 2-3 calls per day.  I was home sick from work today and decided to answer to find out who it was.  The person identified themselves as being from PC Financial and asked for me by name.  Once I confirmed they were speaking with me, they spoke to me about a financial issue which I knew to be true.  The strange part was that afterwards, he asked me to confirm my address.  I questioned him at that time and he said that when you call them, they have to ask you numerous security questions, but when they call you, they just ask you your name, including a middle name (he had only confirmed my middle initial, mind you), and when you confirm you are that person, that is the extent of their security check for outbound calls.  He then confirmed that he knew the first and last letters/digits of my postal code, so I confirmed my address.  He then proceeded to confirm my phone number and an alternate number.  I found this strange, so afterwards, I searched the phone number he had called from (and even tried calling back receiving only dead air) and came across this forum.  It seemed confusing because I didn't give him information he clearly didn't already have (alternate number was my old work # and I didn't give a new one) and he provided information such as my account balance and overdraft limit, but I thought the contact information questions after he had provided accurate banking information seemed strange, so I called up PC Financial afterwards to confirm whether it was a legit call.  The girl had me on hold for an extended period of time because there were no notes on my file saying anyone had been trying to contact me, but thankfully she took the extra step of contacting the credit department to see if they had indeed contacted me today regarding my line of credit and, lo and behold, it was legit.  So please rest easy, everyone - this number is associated with PC Financial's Credit Department.

I've been getting calls from this number a lot in the past minth,. I've picked up the phone a couple times and no one answers. I wish I knew who is doing this. The world has lots of real big lovers. Please stop calling me

The automated greeting does give the impression that this number is fraudulent, but IT IS actually legitimate. This is a collections agency that usually calls about past over due bills for your PC financial or CIBC account.

I keep getting calls from 877-372-4033 when I pick no body says a word. If I don't pick up, they leave no message this has been going on since the first of Jan 2013

SCAM ALERT - They can make the call ID say anything, its no CIBC.

I called them back and they are a crooked company not abiding by the law.

The lied on the phone twice, they are told to tell the same story as both reps repeated word for word some pathetic story about the name being in a wrong system. Both times I called to be removed and they said yes yet the continued to call back just hours later. Hang up on this company as that is all they are worth. They hire 3rd world immigrants to do their dirty work, all the reps I spoke to could barely speak english, they just read the lies on their screen.

I have a product with FirstLine (now CIBC). So I called the phone number back and asked them why they were calling me. They had a legitimate reason and I asked them not to call me anymore. Unfortunately it seems I'm on the auto-dialer and they keep calling. When I answer, dead air. So I`m going to start blocking them.

first line mortgages is the cibc mortgage division as we are there clients but definitly do not give them imfo if you are there client the will have all your imfo already and wont be asking you  if you are a client call your cibc bank ask them for ph for you to contact

This is First Line which is a subsidiary of CIBC. If you got your mortgage through a broker this is them. They are probably calling because your mortgage or line of credit is past due.

8 on in the morning and then it starts.  I work at home and this is just too annoying.  I too called them back and got the skip.  So almost a year later is starts again.

Repeated calls at 8:30 in the morning.  When you call the number, the name of the company skips so you can't hear it and then you are put on hold forever.  

This has to be a scam.

just got that too. A lady called and pretended not to be able to hear me. As a customer of CIBC, I called but, I was cautious the number. It came it my mind to verify that. While I was be asking for my clear ID, I typed the number in my Google search field and headed up here. After giving my name, no more, I asked for getting the customer service number to call later. I hanged up.

I get a call from them ALL the time!!! I called back and it says "thank you for calling .. PAUSE, this call will be recorded". I called back 2 times to make sure my phone didn't cut out and it was the same!!

It's annoying when they don't answer or leave messages and more annoying when you don't bank with CIBC, PC or any of it's affiliates and you have your number on the "Do Not Call List".

Me too- they asked for my husband, I said he wasn't here. Wouldn't give me any information or leave a message. I called back and got that pause too.

They have been calling me 4 times a day, days in a row.
They never leave messages and it's driving me nuts!
I read on another forum that this is a scam and they are pretending to be CIBC or PC Financial.
Don't give anyone your personal information!!

Called several times today and there is never anyone there, it rings and then hangs up.  When you try to call back it rings and you can't understand what company you are calling.

For the last month I sometimes get 10 calls a day from this number, starting at 8:00 am and up until 9:45 pm!  I have never answered the calls and after reading all this I am so glad!  Someone please make them stop!!!

Got a call from this number  1-877-372-4033  twice today.  Didn't answer the phone.

CIBC and Sears are the worst, we used to get sales calls from them all the time.  Lately this above number has been calling.  The solution?  Get a call number blocking service from your phone company. I use Shaw.  Just put the number in and you'll never be called again!

Just missed this call and it said CIBC on display called three times in a row. When l called it back which by the way l do not have an account with CIBC l got this WELCOME TO (7 SECOND PAUSE) PLEASE STAY ON THE LINE FOR THE NEXT AVAILABLE AGENT TO TAKE YOUR CALL.....At first l thought maybe l missed the name so l called it back 4x's...the same...Boy l love to get my hard working hands around someones neck.....

Started getting calls from this number in the past couple weeks on my business cell.  They are persistent as I don't answer and they don't leave messages.  Now that I have read the info on this site, I know not to bother.  Thanks all!

Thank you JSS for your due diligence!  I'm still getting calls from this number and it's now March. It shows up on my call display as CIBC. Hopefully, it will end soon - and good riddance.

This number has been calling me for 2 months now non stop and has reached about 30 times a day. It sometimes says CIBC and other times says PC Financial, other times just 1877-372-4033. After I finally called them they wouldn't tell me who they are but wanted all my information. The thing they didn't know is I work for one of the largest banks in Canada and work in the fraud and scams division. Big mistake for these guys but im sure they will just forfeit this number and move onto another one. It has now been reported. Its pretty sad what some people do for a living to get ahead.
