Just keeps calling

The phone number 1-877-378-3334 belongs to the National Republican Convention.  If you donate money to them once, they will hound you for the rest of your life.....especially on weekends when you are taking an after church nap...

Yes, I got a call too, but she hang up right away to tell her to stop calling.  I have reported this to Do Not Call Registry website.  Is this company exempted from it?

They called me and hung up. I called them back, and told them to stop calling me, but they said that since they were a political organization that they were exempt from the Do Not Call regulations. I asked them who they were trying to call since I often get calls from the previous owner of my number; they kept insisting that I should give them my name and I said I wasn't willing to do that unless they could demonstrate that I was really who they were trying to call.

Sorry, I meant the National Replublican Congressional Committee! (NRCC)
