ccs is areal debt collection agency but they send you a letter not a phone call they are very reasonable people and will work with you don't know who is making these calls but it isn't them from what I have heard they are getting information from cashnet usa

they call themselves C.C.S. Credit Counseling Services. they ARE NOT a real service, they are a bunch of low life scum that i am personally gonna take out myself if their calls continue. This is NOT a an idol threat. If you are one that is associated with such "service" this is my final warning to you.

this number is tied in with the company calling themselves C.C.S. - Credit Collection Services. Please be aware they DO NOT abide by the U.S. Governments National Do Not Call laws. Make sure your number is registered at DoNotCall.gov ( note: you must be registered 31 days before you can file a complaint against C.C.S.)

In the mean time here's something for you to go by:

1: DO NOT MAKE ANY AGREEMENTS WITH THEM (especially of whom they are talking to is the right party they are trying to reach, that will be their first question to you if you choose to answer.the second will be if you know of that person. They make it a practice to call you using different numbers after their first attempt number is unsuccessful, so be on the look out for any numbers you do not know.so far i have these but I'm sure there are more they use :

877-380-3000 - this is the first one they called me on until i made the mistake of answering it.
617-581-1055 - the number they are using now to continue to harass me.
Both have been turned into the complaint department, I SUGGEST YOU DO THE SAME A.S.A.P. WHEN THEY DO CALL YOU, JUST BE SURE IT IS LEGITIMATE OR IT WILL BE STRICKEN FORM THEIR RECORDS IF FOUND OUT TO BE UN-TRUE AND INADVERTENTLY WILL MAKE THE COMPANY LOOK IN BETTER STANDINGS,WHICH WE ALL THAT'S BEEN HARASSED CAN'T ALLOW TO HAPPEN.

Also be sure to know your rights under your states statute of limitation's laws, A legit company will abide by those rules.

Do what I have started  doing....get a home phone system that has a "block" feature.  I have a panasonic model KX-TGA641 that I bought at FRY'S a year or so ago and it has a blocking feature that allows you to block numbers in the memory.  Once you look the number up on the internet and find out it is a caller you don't want to deal with or a telemarketer.. any undesirable caller.. Just "save" it from the "caller list", then choose "block" and then "select".  Voila!  your problem caller gets blocked after one ring.. and you get a high level of satisfaction from knowing that they are blocked. They will continue to call but when it rings one time and stops you know that someone on your blocked list has called and you can then check the caller id at your convenience to see who called and you still have a record of it if you want to file a complaint.  Since charities are exempt from "no call" and business associates of businesses you do business with..which includes everybody almost. ... you can block them as they call.  You can always unblock any number any time you wish.. I don't worry about it anymore... I just "block 'em"

It is not CCS. It is not a debt collection company. It is sheer FRAUD. They don't care about any Do Not Call List and any attempts for you to do anything will probably not render any results. I've dealt with this scum before in the prescription drug industry. They know that government has no resources to stop them, that's why they do it. They skirt around the law and they get away with it. Much of it is run from outside the border.

Believe it or not, the reasons they're doing it are probably not what you think. I have some theories:
1. To get information from naive people that they do get on the phone. Information is a valuable commodity and is sold on the black market.
2. To get you to the internet to look up the phone number. They probably own some of these websites that you're finding. If you click on the Google ads, they get paid.
3. Posing as a collection agency, they could in fact trick vulnerable people into giving them their credit card numbers and matching addresses or other related information.
4. Since a lot of teenagers are getting these calls on their cell phones (my research shows), they could also be targeting young, unsuspecting kids. Perhaps part of child trafficing.

Don't try to be a cowboy. You're not going to intimidate these people and you're probably not going to be able to stop them. That said, documenting the calls here online will leave a trail and if or when the proper authorities ever decide to take action.

These people call my house non-stop all day. My credit may not be the greatest but you are certainly not going to get whatever debt I may owe by harassment. I will pay my bills as soon as I possible can, if not, take me to court. You can't get blood out of a turnip!

They call a few time a day early moring and later on. Some times they leave no message. When they do , you have to be home to pick up the phone and follow directions. If the answering machine picks up, it looks like your the one they are looking for. In my case it's an  Ashly , when they call.  So it got me to thinking ,  when detb collectors are looking for someone paying an old detb. Then maybe they  are hoping the person getting the calls,  will call back and say I am not who you are looking for . When you give them your name , to show them you  are not the person they are looking for and  so they can take you off there calling list. Your name  just might be the one they are looking for, in hopes of collecting your debt. Maybe it's a too, sneeky of a plan.  Just a thought

The caller ID only said "Private Name Private Number" and it took them a few seconds to respond in which I'd usually hang up, but this was one of those days I just felt like givin' 'em a chance. I asked who was calling and this man, sounded African American, talked like he was high, and only told me "Ricky." Naturally I go "Ricky, for...?"

Genius goes "Laura." My mother, who he had already asked for. Probably forgot. So I ask him "Can I ask what your business is or why you're calling?"

"N-no-n-naw. We need to speak with Laura."

"Yeah, okay. I'll write down your number."

Of course only to find out who they are.

Calls multiple times a day leaves an automated message asking if they have the right person - sounds like a collection agency but my credit is good. Annoying and no way to stop them.

Automated phone dialer with a recorded message. No apparent way to get to a real person, no apparent way to get it to stop calling. Can't find anything on the company involved. Sent the phone number to the FTC as a complaint, hopefully its enough to get them to look into it.
