You can always call the bank or credit card company and verify that the debt is legitimate.  Don't shoot the messenger.  What was unbelievable about my post?  That collection agencies make mistakes and sometimes don't know the law and accidentally break it?  That does not mean that the debt was not real.  Lots of legitimate companies get in trouble for not paying employees everything that they should.  Overtime, minimum wage or any wage if it is commission only can cause problems.  Sometimes companies just don't know the laws and therefor they don't know that they are breaking them.  The biggest banks in the country have gotten in trouble for fake or "robo-signed" affidavits.  Nobody is on the internet screaming the Bank of America is a scam.

"not paying employees", "sending fake affidavits" - - - and then you say "the accounts they collect are real accounts" ? ? ? You must be kidding? Does this company send PROOF of debt? No problem with the fake lawsuits, all too common here at 800notes as the tools of scammers, & con artists. Sorry, your posting is just not believable.

The comments about the company are directed to the sham operating style.  The debt you paid was most likely real and legitimate.  This company has had a host of problems from not paying employees to sending fake affidavits to people, but to my knowledge, the accounts they collect are real accounts that are purchased by united credit recovery from various banks.  Most complaints of illegitimate collections come from people who have the same name as someone who owes the debt.  You should rest easy knowing that you paid off one of your bills.  It should feel good to make progress on past debt.

So wait this is not a legitimate company. I paid them for an account that I knew I had not paid from losing my job. I paid it all off. So its not real? Do I need to call the police and file a fraud claim? That Andrew guy was mean. I hope someone respond to this. Thanks.

Called saying my chase master card was locked.  then asked for my account number.  They are a absolute Phish scam.

I just got a call from this number. I keep getting it, but I never respond to a number i don't recognize. Thank you for this board, as I know for sure it was spam.

I have gotten 2 calls from this number this weekend saying my Credit Card was declined and that I need to enter the information on the card to re-activate it. Ya RIGHT!!!

Unknown number so I didn't answer. They left a computer generated voice message late Saturday afternoon - after 4:00pm - stating my debit card had been suspended and to press 1 to get it reinstated. First thing I did was Google the number!

Got an automated call that was too garbled to understand. Didn't call back. Since I've heard they're only licensed in Florida, I'm guessing it's a scam call. :p

I just received a call from this number as well, sounded just like what you said but it was so broken up and hard to pick out.

Got a call on my cell phone from this number.  Computer recording said that my credit card from the Credit Union needs to be reactivated and needs my 16 digit account number to activate.  I dont have a credit union credit card. This is a SCAM!!!

Perhaps picking up the phone and finding out what the call is about is a good idea, Or better yet, contact Chex Systems, they are the "equifax" of the banking world.  Interesting what some say is spoken as its against federal law to leave such a general message,  Pay you debit if you owe it, if you don't then clear up the matter and there will be no more calls.

Wrs is world recovery services a collection agency for united credit recovery.  They are only licensed to collect in Florida so if you are somewhere else they are operating illegally

I saw a post on one of the sites from the Colorado Attorney General warning that they are collecting without a license in Colorado.  You may want to check and see if they are licensed in your state.  Here are more links to their other phone numbers.  They also call from 8773650025, 8778131682 and 8004932143.

I used to work there too, I handled all of the spanish calls. This company is the same as Regent Asset Management and Imperial Recovery Partners...I agree with Doug Pike, they are a joke. I used to sell meth and get high with upper management and HR. Call and ask for Keith Pierson, Beryl Pippert, or Andrew Bowman. Whatever you do, ****DO NOT PAY THEM **** tell them to go to hell !!!!

This a joke these are the same people as Regent Asset Management and Imperial Recovery Partners they promise you positions in upper management to get you  to collect for them then they will not give it to you. I've had messages from so-called debt collectors on my answering machine asking for someone I know.  At first I figured they had the wrong number and called them to let them know that no one lives here by that name.  They went on to say that they were looking for me!?  I've had the same number for 30 years.  It's not a wrong number.  And I have all my numbers on the do-not-call list.  Nothing works.

I get calls from this number and home and work more than once a day.

I get crap all the time like this and I have no debt - no credit cards, no past due bills, nothing.  Just a current mortgage and current car payment.  Just because they say they're "debt collectors", doesn't mean their legit.  There are a lot of scammers out there trying to steal money from people.  Many of these scammers WILL NOT remove your name and number, or you get "disconnected" when trying to request it.  That's why we ignore them.  It's an endless battle if you pick up the phone and give the scammers the attention.

Problem is they don't take your name off, they call me EVERYDAY and I have asked to be removed day. When I tell them the person the are asking for does not live here nor have I ever heard of them, they basically start getting all snippy and ask me "are you sure about that?" considering this has been my phone number for the last 10 years, I'm not convinced it's just a wrong number.  When I ask to speak to a manager I get hung up on.
