Txt msg from Legacy Texas Bank-- "Alert. Your card has been DEACTIVATED. Please contact us at 972-366-0198 to REACTIVATE your card. "
I do NOT bank or have any dealings with Legacy Texas Bank .. I knew something seemed fraudulant .. I did NOT make the call as requested to do. But I DO want this number investigated, so that some unknowing person innocently makes a call to them and becomes a victim of scams and fraud!
Thank Goodness there is the Internet to look up such scams!

They are using a new number, same old scam, seems like Legacy Texas Bank would be concerned. New number is 817-260-0499.

If you subscribed to a local telephone or cell phone service provider and by chance the provider assigns "you" that number that was formerly listed to a murderer, sex offender, thief, or criminal - does that make you responsible for their actions?
THOU SHALT NOT LIE 2009-09-11 16:22:48 Unknown
When I researched the text I got last week about the US Bank scam that contained the phone number 1-877-388-6436, this number WAS on the Unlimited Blessings website, and now it is not, yet they have posted on here that they have no affiliation to this number in any manner. You may not anymore, and may not be associated with the scam, but you are a religious organization for heaven sake tell the truth!

devra888 2009-09-08 20:43:53 Unknown
they are not related because I use facebook only on my computer....not my phone and I am getting the texts on my phone. they are not from legacy texas bank...they know it's happening but it is not them. Believe that agencies including Texas Attorney General have been notified and after these people. Hopefully they will be slopping hogs at a Texas prison soon!

All 5 of my phones rec'd this! i called the so called bank and they said they were "working on it but didn't know who to turn it in to. They were aware but had not made one single call. I informed them it only took one call to Tmobile to have it stopped and see the location but they were going to sit on it, after all they only just found out about it 5 hours ago! How many have been scammed during this time and they are sitting around, aware of the fraud but are not doing anything. It seems to me, there should be some accountablity on their part if they are not doing anything about it.
For anyone that really does have a Legacy Texas Bank, in my opinion, I would run for the hills, hide my money in my mattress for it appears it would be safer there because their "security" dept doesn't know how to make a call to the authories or even T Mobile!
Oh course, this is just my own opinion for whatever it's worth. I would liek to think that my personal bank would do more to protect its customers for example putting something on the banks website where everyone can see that a scam is going on and not to give out any info.

ITS CALLED CALLER ID SPOOFING
Where they change the number on the caller id to read a deliberately misleading info. It makes them harder to trace

Gwen R 2009-09-08 15:24:35 Unknown
I got an sms from sms@texaslegacybank.com saying that my account was blocked. I've never heard from them, so I knew it was a scam. The message told me to call 1-877-388-6436. I blocked my number and called them (research), evidently they have super x-ray powers to perceive the caller on the other end even if the number is blocked (tongue in cheek here) because they still somehow knew that my account was blocked, and "please enter your card number followed by your PIN."
For those of you who question it, ANY time you get an e-mail, sms message, phone call, etc. from someone you do not know, claiming they have information regarding ANY of your accounts, consider it a prime opportunity to exercise EXTREME caution.
