I received a text message instructing me to call this 877 number about my account, right in the midst of stroking one off to gifs of Phoebe Cates dropping her bikini top in the old Fast Times at Ridgemont High movie (man, I love that scene and wore out my old VHS copy of the film constantly watching and rewinding so I could pound one out along with Judge Reinhold).  Talk about Jackoffus Interruptus!  Anyway, thanks to this wonderful website, I will not be calling that number or responding to the text.  Any idea on how to block this person from texting me?  

I got the same message as "TR" except the number was 877-403-0835. This is NOT verizon. Their texts come from 90008000 something. I have been with verizon for several years & they have always been the same. Those who insist this is verizon must work for the scammers.

I am an employee at a Verizon Retailer, and I hope this ends everything on this topic PERIOD.  This number is not a Verizon number, anybody who fell for this, I feel bad for you.  I had more than one customer complain about getting a harassing ammount of texts and calls from this number and it is 100% junk.  They are trying to phish for information and this number has been reported in our system as a number to take action against.

I got a message and call from this number so I called verizon and they said that they had no records of calling me and that is not their number.  They told me that next time I get something like that to call them first or check online and see if the number matches.

Got a message from "8991" saying "Verizon Wireless FreeMsg-Please contact Verizon Wireless by the end of the day regarding your service. Please call us at 877-389-4905 or click/log ont" (copy/pasted). Got online and called Verizon's number from their website. They have records of the messages they send out. This isn't wasn't one of them. SCAM. F*ck the second and third posters, probably part of the scam.

This is not Verizon you must work for the scammers I get a txt from Verizon every month when my bill is ready to view for payment and is never from 7500 *Scam Alert*

I received a voice msg from this number this morning.  I am not calling it back.

This is for sure Verizon. Whenever I get a text from Verizon, it's from 75000. Maybe you're just mistaken or trolling?

This number IS from Verizon. They were calling to remind me that I'd missed a payment on my account, which I did. This is actually legitimate.

Thot it was legit from Verizon - they wanted the 3 numbers from the back of my cred card - unfortunately, because my card number had recently changed (due to suspected fraud on my account) I gave it to them. Now, I suppose I'll get more charges on my NEW card number. GGGRRRRRRRRRRRRR

This is NOT Verizon. I got several calls from a different & texts both telling me to call this number. The text was from 75000, which is not Verizon. The text also started "freevzwmsg", texts from Verizon say "vzw free msg". Just because they know some info about you doesn't mean you should trust them.

Received message from this number.....couldn't understand who they were but said something about my account and that they needed my social security number.   NO WAY.

I just got on the Internet and Googled this phone number to see what posts are out there about Verizon Wireless.  This is a legitimate number for Verizon Wireless.  I was given a reference number of someone else's cell phone number, a Sylvester Allen, at 856-723-1331.  I was told by Verizon Wireless that my cell phone number must be a contact number on this gentleman's account, either allegedly he knows me, which he doesn't, or he made this number up as a contact number.  The young woman rep wouldn't tell me why they were trying to reach this gentleman, but I've been getting calls from Verizon Wireless for the last two weeks about this issue.  *  What's the real kicker is Verizon Wireless WILL NOT take my cell phone number off this gentleman's account!  I think what I'm going to do next is file an online complaint with the NJ BPU about the matter.  It's a waste of my time, and I'm paying for the airtime.  It's also frustrating when the last three calls came a few nights ago, all three calls about five minutes apart, and I couldn't catch a red light to stop and see what the issue was.  When I finally did check, I was mad thinking there might have been a legitimate reason or emergency for whoever to keep calling like that.  Poor business on Verizon Wireless's behalf.

It was really Verizon. I got a call from them today and the information they provided regarding my account was 100% accurate. They probably just made a mistake on your account for you to receive the call and email since your account was up to date...
The person you spoke to probably worked in a completely different department and gave you an answer that would make the most sense when they said it could be a scam. In my experience with Verizon I usually end up speaking to 3 or 4 people and STILL don't get the correct information :)

I got a message from this number saying it was Verizon calling with "Important Account Information".  I also got an email about the same time titled "Important Account Information" saying I had a Total Balnce Due of $1548.50, which also had an attached .ZIP file with the email.  But here's the funny thing, the email was sent to a bunch of different people.  So rather than calling the number they told me to call, I checked my account online, and saw that my account was fine.  I also called the Verizon Wireless Service number on my monthly statement, and they said my account was fine and did not have a balance of $1548.50.  They thought this may be a very elaborate scam and DO NOT open the attached .ZIP file or call this number!
