I received a call from a private number and when I answered, the caller said her name is Kathryn Miller with BCM , when I asked what that stands for she said "It doesn't stand for anything" she proceeded to say that I have a case #1596650 pending in her office and I need to call her Supervisor Kate at ext. 307. Once again a question from me to her "What is Kate's last name (The supervisor) the called said I don't know, I just started working here 2 weeks ago and don't know my supervisors name. When I told her, I am not giving her any of my personal Info. she changed her tone of voice from calm to angry. I told her I was going to report the call and conversation to FTC, she got even more mad and then hung up.

has nothing to do with DO NOT CALL LISTS
Companies use Autodialers that dial many numbers at the same time
Example - Autodialer dials 20 numbers at once, company only has 5 reps available to handle the answered call. Once the 5 reps are busy with those who answered the other 15 calls are dropped.

When they call and hang up it means you have been placed on the Do Not Call list, and because of the automated dialer, it takes 30 days to be taken off their calling systems. The computer is calling you then hanging up when it sees there has been a recent request to be on DNC. The calls will be stopping soon.

Got another call from this number - they call several times a week. This time it was simply a recording that said "good-bye".

They are still calling daily after I asked to be put on their Do-not-call list. No message is left. They are now on my Never-do-business-with list.

Hi,
This is the number for HOP Energy. They own a lot of smaller energy companies. If you live in Southern New England and receive heating oil shipments then it is probably them. Here is the CT Dept. of Energy listing for them:
