This is legit. They are calling about accounts that have been inactive and are getting ready to be turned over to the Treasury as Unclaimed Property.

This is a public forum - this is not the place to put personal information. I have asked the Admins to redact your personal info.
The people who called you do not maintain this site - again, this is a public forum to post about unknown/spam/scam calls. You will have to call the people back yourself.
You may also want to check in with your state's unclaimed property office, or state controller's office. They should be able to point you in the right direction. You can also check the information at http://www.wikihow.com/Claim-Unclaimed-Money.

My father had an escrow account with you back in beginning of 2001. His name was William (Buster) Smith and his date of birth was[removed] (year of birth is approximate). WF Escrow called and said it was an emergency that they talk to me, and I left a message to call on Monday as I tried to reach someone on Monday as well, but they did not know who left the message. I had to disconnect my telephone and move away suddenly. So, my real father supposedly left me some land or Escrow and I want to know what happened to it after he died. I was his beneficiary. His mother's name was Betty Smith and his brother's name was Bobby Joe Smith. He also had a sister named Anna Shepherd. Could you please research this for me as I have waited a long time since I became stable to contact you. I move around a lot. However, you can reach me at [removed]
Thank You,
Dovee

This is legitimate. As mentioned, it is unclaimed property from Wells Fargo. I had two savings accounts with Wachovia that WF acquired. The accounts "deactivate" after several years of inactivity and they needed to verify address and phone number. They don't ask for Social Security numbers or anything sensitive to verify.

Seems legit. it's wells fargo unclaimed property. they took over wachovia, and service their old accounts.
they DIDN'T try to sell me anything, or try and collect anything.
i have to pursue recovery of a dormant account, from a deceased relative, thru a local wells fargo branch.

This phone number is Wachovia Unlclaimed Property. Your husband might have been listed as a beneficiary on an account holders account

Caller claimed to be Judy Cameron, requesting to speak to my husband. Wachovia came up on caller id. Since my husband does not have an account with them, I tried to look the number up to no avail.
