I had an ex co-worker text me to say a number (877-400-0312) called and left her a voice-mail about an Angela Birch having a warrant and pending charges! I have NEVER gone by Angela, my maiden name is Birch and my legal first name is Angel, but I have NEVER gone by Angela in my entire life not even as a nickname or alias. I work for the Government and for a County division don't you think they would have questioned me if these were real accusations and/or charges? My Lt. called the number back asked for the person on the message George Peters or Jennifer, and they advised that they had pending charges on "Angela Birch" she advised that there is no one at our agency with that name and not to call. I haven't heard anything in over a month until today. My mother (who lives in Florida/I live in Texas) called and said that these people from Global called and were rude to my step-father about needing to settle a claim, he told them it was my deal if I had charges I would have to deal with it then hung up. They then called my grandmother in Florida and left her a voice-mail about the same thing from the same people. Then they called my mothers house line again and this time it was a George Peters from Global call back number 855-414-8852 about claim number 154424 for Angela Birch... My mother let me listen to the voice-mail and I wrote all the info down, I tried to call on a recorded line at work and it went to a women "Jennifer's" voice-mailbox, I left a message saying "This is in reference to claim number 154424 for Angela Birch I will not release ANY information to you or "your company" until you have given me more information on your so called claim, if you can not then I will file harassment charges on you and your company." I advised "Jennifer" to call me on my work line where it will be monitored and recorded... I have no idea if it's real but I do know that I have never used that name and debt collectors are the only thing/people that should be calling because I do not have anything currently open except my car note which is in good standing... I wish I could know if this was a scam or not... I searched the numbers and could only find this forum and a few others but nothing attached to the BBB or any companies which leads me to believe it is a scam. I am waiting on a call back and I will update everyone when I find out. If I have to pull strings with-in my department I will!!!

I recieved call telling me to call this # and to give a claim # of 116474.  i was told that i have a claim against me and to consider myself served.  The lady said her name was Allison Moore. Very interesting that I have a claim against me because i have no outstanding debt.

PLEASE BE AWARE OF THESE SCAMS!  THESE PEOPLE ARE LYING. I LOST 300.00 TO SOMEONE WHO CLAIMED I OWED A PAYDAY LOAN. HE THREATENED TO HAVE ME SUMMONED ON MY JOB. WHEN I GAVE HIM MY DEBIT CARD# THE CHARGE CAME THRU AS A COMPANY CALLED HEAL COMFORT. NOTHING TO DO WITH A DEBT!!! I REPORTED IT TO THE POLICE AND MY BANK.  HE CALLED A COUPLE MORE TIMES BUT I NEVER ANSWERED.
TODAY THERE WAS A MESSAGE FROM SOMEONE NAMED GLORIA FOR MY DAUGHTER DEMANDING A RETURN CALL FOR A DEBT SHE OWED. THIS IS ALSO A SCAM   EVERYONE PLEASE BEWARE! IF YOU OWE MONEY YOU WILL BE NOTIFIED BY MAIL!!!  TRUE DEBT COLLECTORS KNOW HOW TO FIND YOU!!!!

OMG!!! I actually have been dealing with these ppl since Jan. 2011. They were telling me they are looking for me and that i would be summoned to court. However I did not question it thoroughly because the companies they were calling about were actually companies I had a debt with from a few years ago. So tho it was real stressful, to avoid going through court I agreed to set up arrangements to clear up the debt. They even took like $200 dollars off and said it was a settlement amount!  I have paid $300 so far and was about to make the last payment of $100 today. But everytime i called the number no one answers which was strange b/c since Jan they always answered the phones. THEN today my mother called me saying they called her and stated the same bull to her about finding me and me being summoned. I called the number back which was a diff number (877-400-0312, ARDS or somethign like that) and it was the same jist but they were calling for another company i owed from when i was younger. So at this point I'm very stressed and I went ahead and made a pymnt today of $145 and have two more set up for May and June. I got on the site looking up a number that keeps calling and hanging up and decided to check their number and that's when I found this post. I feel so hurt and dumb b/c now I'm just really confused!!! B/c they brought up charge I actually owed I don't klnow if it's a scam from ppl that somehow found out about past debts i have or if it's actually legit!! I don't know what to do. I'm very frustrated because my money is tight. I am on disability!!! If it's a scam I'll never get over how much i have just given them and lost! Not to mention how dumb I feel.!

A desperate scammer is trying to scare people into letting someone steal money from them. It's name is "Nancy" this time.

THIS COMPANY CALLED STATING THAT A FAMILY MEMBER NEEDS TO CALL THIS NUMBER 877-400-0312 CASE#117043 OTHERWISE THEY WILL NEED TO APPEAR IN COURT. IT APPEARED TO BE A SCAM.

Do you mind if I ask you what the charges were, type of charges (criminal or civil)? You don't have to give anything specific, but your info could help me (see my post). Were they for debts? it's a little weird that people are saying that this is a debt collection agency and they are serving people?

Had this number call a family member and the guy told her that he was a process server and he had to serve papers on me because I had two charges against me (which is not true and not allowed by the FTC). My family member asked the company name and he would not give it to her. He did give her the phone # above.

According to the Federal Trade Commission debt collectors cannot engage in the following practices:

Harassment. Debt collectors may not harass, oppress, or abuse you or any third parties they contact.
False statements. Debt collectors may not lie when they are trying to collect a debt.
Unfair practices. Debt collectors may not engage in unfair practices when they try to collect a debt.

Debt collectors also are prohibited from saying that:
you will be arrested if you don?t pay your debt;
they?ll seize, garnish, attach, or sell your property or wages unless they are permitted by law to take the action and intend to do so; or
legal action will be taken against you, if doing so would be illegal or if they don?t intend to take the action.

Debt collectors may not:
give false credit information about you to anyone, including a credit reporting company;
send you anything that looks like an official document from a court or government agency if it isn?t; or use a false company name.

a locator called me informed me of a claim, called the number i was advised too and they helped me a lot, some trevor saved me 200 dollars, and helped me take care of my claim.

This is a lady named Rachel Powers calling from Global ADR Firm. Very rude claiming that there is a claim against me (never would say what for) and that if I did not agree to handle this matter immediatly over the phone with her that I was going ton be served papers. I have also found out that she has contacted several of my co-workers telling them all of this information about me and when they refuse to give her any answers or deliver any messages to me, she becomes very rude and argumentative with them where they just have to hang up on her. I have located a web site for Global ADR Firm in hopes to gather information as to who this is and what they want and have found little to no information as it is just a plain a simple generic website. I also went an extra step futher and have contact the Attorney Generals Office and from what they can tell, this is a company out of Jamaica and it is a scam. Any true debt collector must inform you in writing of such debt and give you your due process as to dispute or validate the claim. And they are NEVER allowed to talk to anyone but the person with whom the suposed debt is for. She has also called using another number 1-877-818-1572.
