This Number 877-407 0440 called my home on Sunday at 6:43pm during dinner.  Didn't leave a message.  I never answer calls that are out of area, unavailable, or Toll Free Call.  After a check on Google, it appears this number belongs to "SmileTrain" looking for a handout.  Here are some other numbers that "Smile Train" likes to use.

I am planning to buy one of those new Panasonic phones that lets you block unwanted phone calls like these.  I have 72 unwanted callers currently on my list and more each day.  Scam Robo callers. Tired of it.

It must be that people have nothing better to do in the aftermath of the blizzard.  I received a call that I didn't answer from this number and another from 877-344-0300.  Thanks heavens for caller ID.

So sick of these calls...They use various numbers also!!  Just called and had my number removed- let's see if that really works!!!

I have donated to smile train as well, and never will again because I'm so tired of these endless calls and mailings.  If you call back, you can follow prompts to remove yourself from their call list.  (Wish I had known this months ago.)

That's funny, I actually had the little box when I was in college, not too long after caller id came out.  It would let you "ban" people and you had the choice of a pre-recorded message or you could record your own.  My message started with an air horn and went downhill from there.

If this is a charity what make them think that anyone on the DO NOT CALL list would want to contribute so why waste time.   When I get unidentified call, I check out number online then file it on my phone list as "DNA ===" meaning DO NOT ANSWER for what reason.  It would be great if someone could make a device which could answer the phone when these numbers call and give them a siren and a cuss out message.

My father probably donated in the past, as he has received 2 or 3 mailings from Smile Train. On each one I drew a line across his name and address and wrote "deceased", then marked the envelope "return" with an arrow to the return address. Now we are getting phone calls from them, which we will not answer. They probably want to make us new donors.
They have also called us from 607-224-7603. They never leave a message; they will never get an answer.

I just got my second call in the last week, but I screen and don't pick up calls from anyone I don't recognize. Heather above (sounds like "Heaven above") said that it's The Smile Train calling, and I probably would be on their calling list because I've donated a couple of times in the past. I know I'm on their mailing list since I receive several solicitations a year. It is a very worthwhile cause; but there have been issues raised regarding their fund raising methods and the amount of their endowment spent on salaries (especially the co-founder's) and operating expenses.
