They say they were calling from CIBC and I was selected as a winner of the trip and want my credit card # to confirm infomation....i just so happen to work for CIBC....but i would have knew it was a scam regardless, they're very unprofesional.

This seems like a fraudulent phone number. Do not answer their questions or give out any personal information.

I continue to receive calls on my cell phone from 800-280-9441 at all hours of the day and night. Caller ID only shows number, no name. Caller never leaves a message or sits quietly for a few minutes to see if someone will answer. One time I heard heavily accented voices in the background. I will not return calls to without first knowing who is calling. Number does not match any numbers I have for my credit card providers.

I received a call and googled it. I DO have a WaMu account BUT it's current so no need for harrassing calls....I do believe it's a scam. If you don't have a card or it's current, there's not reason for calls.

Best Buy credit cards are financed by HSBC, not Wamu...

sound it like Wonald Card Serive? I can not figure out who it is and I am not calling back til I know for sure who and what they are.

if you have a best buy card, it is a wamu credit card.

I don't have a WaMu card and they called me.

I hope I'm posting this to the page and not sending a PM (to Tiger1).
Uh, look folks, what part of 'Washington Mutual' don't you understand? If you're like me, you probably have been late in paying off your Wamu card, and this is how they hound you about it. It's not a phishing scam. In fact, WE'RE the scammers ourselves because when we got these cards, we promised to make payments every month after they extended us credit and now we're acting like freeloading welchers. Great; now you're making me sound like a Wamu plant. Ehh, turn off the computer and go get a job, ya' deadbeats.

Be afraid, very afraid.
| Dorothy 2008-03-27 00:39:49 Unknown |
I unwittingly gave them my SS#. Should I be concerned?

Just the same message as reported earlier.
I don't want to call back and wondered if
it was a scam.
Sounds like..

Actually, if you keep not giving them your credit card number, they will ask for your SSN. Then they will finally reroute your call into an automation system where ULTIMATELY someone with an accent and without a clue will pick up the phone and continue to only identify himself as a representative of 'Card Services' - a phrase for which there are more than 5 million Google responses, including one for a company called 'Card Service International', which is not affiliated with this company who, after enough prying, finally revealed themselves to in fact be Washington Mutual. They actually wanted to know whT AYE wanted even after I said in multiple ways that I was RETURNING a call. Finally, I was given a 'direct' number to call which was 800-280-9441.

I recieved this call, a recording comes on stating they have been trying to contact us, leaving a call back number. 877-424-4088. I immediately did a Google search on the number coming up with this ingenious website. 800notes.com. Thank you folks. If it walks like a duck it must be a duck.
I was suspicious and this website confirmed my suspicions.
Caller ID: Arlington, Tx 817-524-0098 recieved 10:15am December 13 2007.

I am not sure what this is about just says Credit Card Services and enter last four of credit card.
| John Q 2007-11-15 19:23:03 Unknown |
This is a phishing scam. Looking for idiots to enter their credit card number when prompted. A message was left on my voicemail requesting that I call 877-242-4008 regarding an "important matter". I called and an automated attendant requested the last four of my credit card. When I didn't enter it I was then prompted to enter the full 16 digit credit card number.
There was no way to get to a real person and no company name was ever given. The big suprise was that I got this on my VOIP number.
