I have had this guy Jimmy Smith calling me all day and my ex. He is very rude and very loud. He has called me from ten different numbers. Said he needs all my addresses to serve me papers. They won't tell me what debt it is for but I know it has to be really old. All they want to do is scare you. This company CRG has a bad rating with the BBB of Mesa Az. If they keep calling just be polite and tell them your lawyer is handling it or better yet tell them you have an open claim against them.

I just got the same call too. Not sure what this is for. I called the number they gave me and when they went to transfer me the call was disconnected. I am going to call back after work.

I got the call for my father. They said he was in some legal trouble and needed to speak with him. I asked why didnt law enforcement call me. The rep said it was civil and they were about to sue him. My father has never been in any trouble so I knew it was something not right. I have no plans to follow up with this company because they are not being straight forward.

Got the same call this evening and called them back and left message. Even the voice mail did not identify the company name.

I got the same phone call today. I called the number they gave me and they told me what was going on. I guess they are investigating me for a possible law suite. (what ever).

Got a voicemail on our home phone yesterday asking for my stepson (who hasn't lived with us for years), referencing a "case number" and asking for home and employer address. The caller used the name "Leon Sage" in this case but it sounds similar to the other calls described above, except in our case the last digit of the phone number was not included (it sounded like the connection dropped out for a second, so all we got was to call 877-433-807). I have no intention of calling, we'll see if they come trying to serve papers.

I just got the same type of call and they said to call this number. I plan to call them after work today.

If this info on the company is correct then these scumbags are actually finding long overlooked or credit blemishes and then reopening interest. Either by purchasing the debt or notifying the company owed and then doing the leg work for them for a fee. Then it would appear once they attempt to make a criminal case on behalf of the company owed they step in and "save" the day as a credit rescue company.

John Bordson was caller who left message for me claiming I had charges and a "case." One chance blah blah. Prior to me getting back to my phone and getting said message my wife frantically called me to see if I was okay. This scumbag identified himself as law enforcement, but no name. He then told her I was in legal trouble. This was after she had identified herself as someone other than me. Any help on where these calls originate would be appreciated.

If you are legitimately served they would not call your phone demanding addresses and things. They would have done all their work and got that information. If you have recently try to clean up your credit that is how they are getting you information,

I got a similar call this morning asking if I was going to be home. I asked what it for and he said he did not know only that they have an envelope to drop off and could not open it. He said I could call this number and they might be able to tell me. I have not called them yet.

Quick update... This mumber belongs to a debt collector in Mesa Arizona. CRG -Credit Recovery Group
Ed 2014-03-04 21:37:51 Unknown
In addition, they have a file number stating it had been filed in the county we live in. But when we searched, none was found. It was told to me that it would be a civil suit clawing breach of contract and fraud against the institution.

I called the number, they claim to be a mediation firm with the initials of CFG. A woman named Nancy Lopez claims to be a personal locator and is serving papers to my wife. She continually asks when she will be home or if she's at work and I refuse to offer any other info. The contact at the mediation firm went by Jeremy. Later when called, I inquired if they are a debt collector and they said they are mediations for a debt collector.

Obviously those are aliases lol, it's clearly not the JP Morgan Chase chairman lol, and why would an evangelist be calling you? You just googled the names, but I'm SURE those are not their real names, especially if this is a scam of some kind.
snyper 2014-03-01 00:31:34 Unknown
Oh great... the ex vice chairman of JP Morgan Chase Salary US$ 20,864,500 (2007) and a tv evangelist (ex gang member).
Splendid company.

I talked with my wife and I do remember this Credit card now. So if it is not a scam what should I do.
CWG40 2014-02-26 04:30:54 Unknown
Apparently they are going by the name of Steve Black and Nicky Cruz. Sounds more and more like an extortion scam.
CWG40 2014-02-26 04:25:04 Unknown
Sounds like a scam to me. Do not give any money to anyone on anyone's say so. Do not send any money to anyone. Do not give any financial information over the phone. This sounds like an extortion attempt to me. Contact your local police. Or attorney general of your state.
CWG40 2014-02-26 04:22:24 Unknown
Check and see if they are valid court papers. You might have been legitimately served.
CWG40 2014-02-26 04:21:30 Unknown
Total scam. Ignore 'em. Report them to police.

I got a call from this company today and they were extremely rude. They called my father's house and really had I'm sort of scared. Does anyone know what the name of this company is? The person that left a message for me was I think Steve or Scott Blake
They told me that it was for an old credit card that I believe had a relatively small balance but then they've now charge me with all these exorbitant fees.
