My parents (who live in a different state than I do) received a call today from CRS. It was a recording advising them (my parents) that CRS was looking for me in order to serve me with a  summons. I couldn't imagine or even think of what this could be for, not to mention the embarrassment of CRS leaving such a message on a machine about me. ANYWAY, I came to the Internet to do a little research.  The phone number is different, but I am wondering what the outcome was with everyone else who dealt with CRS. PLEASE let me know as soon as possible. I am debating on even calling these people back.

When I answered, nobody replied.

Has anyone actually recieved a summons to appear in court?  They called and left a message for me stating they would be sending the summons to my place of employment.  They left no name of the company the only thing I was told was this was for writing bad checks.  Not sure what they are talking about..  I found out who they were by entering the number in Google.

I received a phone call today from 888-530-7840 from a Ms. Griffin who said I would be summoned if I didnt pay the balance today from the SSM group from back in August whoever that was. I was given a case number and everything but when I asked for information about the company she wouldnt give it to me no website, no street address or anything. i even asked her what time zone she was on she just said mine lol I didnt even say which one it was. She gave me the last four digits of an account that has been closed for months now and if I was supposed to go to court why would it be over a $300.00 supposed loan? Do you think lawyers are going to waste their time over $300.00 seriously? When I asked about the company she gave me a all around the world story about how the name was changed from CRS to Capital Associates because something happened with a previous attorney who no longer works there and that the website was redone last week so she didnt know if the website would be ready and viewable yet because they just switched the company name over. Which is all fine if that was the case give me the old website, she didnt she just started giving me excuses. I dont have time for games if Im going to court let it be for something serious and not $300.00 that you claim I owe.

Have you recieved this court summons? I got a call this week from a lady saying she rec'd a fax in her office about a few bad checks and that she was ready to issue me a court summons! I wonder if this is a scam or not? I don't know what checks she is talking about.

When I asked him where the lawsuit was filled at he told me he didnt know.  not only that it sounds like a call center

I am looking into legal actions.  not sure where this company is located

Everything this company is doing violates the law that protects debtors as well as the general public from Debt Collection Agencies, I spoke with the same woman shortly after they left a message on my VM. She went on with the same type of ignorant behavior, she works for one of those attorneys that collect on old debt where in most cases it has been charged off and beyond the statue of limitations. They have no legal grounds to collect but they way it goes is if you pay the pocket the cash, this woman actually had the nerve to tell me that I was interfering with a legal investigation and that she would send someone to my door to have charges filed against me. This company will go away as fast as they showed up once the AG complaints start to file in their office, please do try to get any conversations recorded as sue this company for FDCPA violations, you could actually get some $ for yourself out of the deal, assuming they don't shut down the business and run away before any legal action can take place. Not only was I threatened by this woman, I was called a liar and my fiance a thief all because I called her on her bluff of a court summons. I have been in this business long enough to know that is a commissioned employee trying to put my $ in her pocket.

I received a call from a Michelle Jacobs from an anonymous number also today.  She left a number 877-443-6125 with a case number and said she was going to serve me with some papers and see me in court.  When asked what her number was to give to my attorney, she said she doesn't give her number and because she's a private agency, she doesn't have to give me her number and she's not afraid of an attorney.  She also called my house and got my mother very upset.  I didn't think you could discuss someone's personal business with others; very unprofessional and rude.

I just received a call that came up as anonymous on my caller ID but they left (877) 443-6125 ext 108 as a call back number. This woman left on our voice mail that she was calling to inform my fiance that they have issued a warrant for her arrest for failing to appear in court, as well as that they attempted to reach her at our home & are now searching the area looking for her to serve her court papers.

1st off the woman on the phone sounded as if she was reading from a poorly written script, as she used incorrect verbiage while she referred to different aspects of the legal/bench warrant system. The background noise as well as the reception makes me believe that it was done on a cell phone, possibly to avoid documentation of the call.

I have been a manager of a collection agency for over 10 years and I guarantee you that this is a complete violation of the FDCPA and one of the main reasons for the act to get  passed in the 1st place. Way back when in the early 90's such calls were made buy less then reputable agencies but due to the onslaught of law suits are a thing of the past. I was totally blown away that this type of message was left on my answering machine to give me the ammo needed to pursue this legally. I suggest that anyone who receives a call from this company try to allow them to leave a message and contact your State Attorney Generals Office as well as the Better Business Bureau to file a compliant.

This CRS company claimed to be a legal firm and shared my personal info with a third party at my job, this is a direct voliation of my rights as a consumer. The Fair debt cooection practices Act passed in 1977!!!
