I received similar call from 713-893-4694.

Offering me $100,000 to rent my timeshare in Mayan Riviera for 20 weeks.

If it is too good to be true, it probably isn't.

Contract was minimal. Thanks for your heads up. I won't bit.

I also recieved a phone call from a man today  from Vacations and Reosrts claiming he has a buyer for my timeshare but said that I did not have to pay anything until closing. He claims he can get almost 30,000 for my unit when I paid way less. What do you think?

I bit and paid.  Sure enough the credit card company would not refund my money.  Now, seven months later Worldwide Vacations Management contacted me saying that they have taken over Vacations and Resorts and have a check to send me for the sale of my timeshare.  I would need to complete a contract to receive the certified check (a huge amount) and then I would need to pay an attorney's fee of $2,563.13 for the work they have done.  From the contract, it would appear that they have done nothing.  I am not signing the contract.

I was contacted by this company who wanted to sell our timeshares. They indicated that they would need $2500 up front to process the paperwork and deal with the title company etc. They said that they had a buyer all lined up who was offering almost twice what we were looking for to sell the timeshares for. I have done some research on these folks and it appears to be a scam. Remember if it looks too good to be true it most likely is!!!

Heywood have you been able to find out who these people are? Can you go through the District Att. of Atlanta & Attorney General of GA? Someone else I know was gullible enough to believe them. Would very much appreciate any feed back on what their rights are to per sue a criminal case against them in the state of GA. Thank you!

I got the same message but did not give him my number. The license number he gave me was CP51426 under James Thomas. If anyone can check it out and let me know if this number exists I would appreciate it. I told him that I would have to research his company and number. But they were in a hurry to sell my timeshare and I was not in a hurry to lose $2400.00

This guy by the name of Tony Roma keeps calling back to try and sell my timeshare for me.  I have declined several times and have told him that I've looked them up on line and all the reports say that Vacation and Resorts are a scam in addition the Better Business Bureau gives them an "F" rating and they're not even licensed in the state of Georgia let alone sell anything for anyone.  He is trying to intimidate and do a high pressure tactic to get me to sell.  WHAT DON'T THEY UNDERSTAND?  Don't do business with ANYONE who is as discourteous as this outfit! I had to threaten to report him if he continues to call and harrass me.  We shall see...

They are still trying to get people to sell their timeshares.  I have received several phone calls from Vacation and Resorts out of Atlanta, Georgia pestering me to sell my timeshare and that they have a legit buyer pre approved for $28,500.  The first time he called, I told him that I thought it was a scam.  He then said, "Then, why do you have your timeshare listed?"  I said, "For the minority of buyers that might actually be legit."

This company is as fraudulent as ANY I have encountered, and they WILL be criminally prosecuted by the District Attorney of Atlanta and the Attorney General of Georgia when I am finished with them.

Of cvourse, only an extremely naieve person (such as an elderly neighbor of mine) would be gullible enough to GIVE THEM HER CREDIT CARD NUMBER ans allow them to take $1800 for "closing costs" on a long-advertised vacation resale which they claimed by phone that they had a "buyer for" at an asurdly-high price.

Rather than make my neighbor feel any worse than she already does, I'll be seeking redress in both the criminal court system and in my own very special way.  In fact, I'll be flying out to see these do***ebags within 24 hours.  They're probably thugs and hoodlums, so I'll need to be prepared.  And I will be prepared....yes, indeed.

When they explained that they would need $1400+ dollars to start the paper work.  When they broke that down for me it ended up being $1000 for a title transfer and estoppo as he spelled it to me, I assume he was trying to refer to an estoppel letter.  They had me look at an empty report on the bbb site as proof they were legit.  They took me to a web page that I could make in a matter of days, with no real data to speak of.
The first real problem is that they told me that I would not be giving them my money but that I would only do that through  the FTC.  Then they told me that I would need to LIE about the fact that they had told me that they had a buyer and say that they had not mentioned anything about the buyer from canada.
When the"FTC" called they introduced themselves as being from what sounded like the same company as the verification department.  Since they were not the FTC I asked them if they could give me their Business license.  The would not.  Instead they sent me back to the salesman who said that I was not to ask any questions of them but that he would give me his business license, which was a string of letters and numbers 7 characters long.  I went to the Georgia state business registry and looked up license and it was not there so I searched for their name "Vacations and Resorts" and there was nothing there.  So, now I am getting a little uncomfortable.  Then the verification people call back and I told them that I just needed to know the actual name that the business is registered under, and they sent me back to the salesman.  Who told me they could not give me that information and that it would be OK since I was covered by my credit card company.  So, I asked if I could call discover and verify that.  Discover said that if I willingly paid for a service and that they did not provide that service or if the someone else made a fraudulent claim then I would be protected, but if I payed a company to file some papers and they did that, I would have no recourse.  So, I conferenced them together since he called back while I was on the phone with her.  Then he argues with her and she recommends that I not proceed with the transaction.  He hangs up and I thanked her and she left. He then called me back and offered to only charge $500 up front and the rest after the sale.  But I realized that I had very little protection.  And when I said that he was upset and cursed me to have my timeshare forever.

This is a real estate scam going under the name vacation-and-resorts.com.  Do not give them any money.  Also using phone # 404-828-0904.  They operate out of a mailbox at a UPS Store at 931 Monroe Dr. Suite 102 #423 Atlanta, GA 30308 which is part of a large shopping center called Midtown Promenade.  The domain name was just registered in April 2010.  Who knows how many people have fallen for this.

This company going under the name vacations-and-resorts is a timeshare scam company from Atlanta, Georgia. The salespersons (Richard Reinor and Sandy) were hard-selling my wife and I and I almost bought it. After running it by someone else, I became suspicious and did some investigation. I found that the BBB gave the company an F after 26 unresolved complains. The entire sell sounded fishy. Oversees buyers were interested in buying my timeshare for a good amount of money. After reading many complaints by other consumers who also posted reviews under another number (678-389-3136), I know this is a scam. PLEASE DO NOT FALL FOR THIS OFFER NO MATTER HOW GREAT IT SOUNDS. Please visit the link below for the Better Business Bureau ratings and reports.

I received a call from David Johnson, gave an address that is a box at a UPS store.  Offered way too much for the current market, and wanted $2150 for legal documents.  Calls were spaced out over two days to make it appear that they were conversing with a buyer....when told that i didnt have a credit card, they sent me to walmart to buy a prepaid mastercard...i think not.  I left him a message saying that i had googled him and the internet said it was a scam, and i wouldnt be providing a credit card number until he could prove otherwise....not expecting a call back!

I just got same call today. Sure sounds good, but I'm convinced it's a scam as well.  Caller said they were from "Vacations & Resorts" out of Atlanta (404-828-0907 on caller id), but gave me call back number of 877-484-3027 x-192 - said her name was Daniel James.  Said she has a buyer for 12,000 on a single room every-other-year timeshare - way too much for the market today.  She's asking 1,497 in fees - no request for a credit card yet - said she'll call back later.

We received a similar call with an offer which was a little more than what we were asking. We had to come up with $2500.00 for closing costs. I don't believe it is a real company. I believe it is another scam.

They are rated an "F" by the Better Business Bureau: http://www.bbb.org/atlanta/business-reviews/v ... nta-ga-27306254

My advice: tell them what I told the man who contacted me: "No. It is the same both in my native language and in your native language!"
