Ampex Medical Supplies aka Rivera Medical Company aka Allied Medical Co aka Corbin Supply aka Advanced Medical Co aka Superior Medical Co were never registered as a legit business in the state of Texas nor in California where both offices are located in.

Company sells medical & latex gloves. They contact the business office at the Care Centers. They inform the business office that they are sending a shipment of free gloves for possible future procurement. The business office then receives an invoice three weeks later. On average each invoice is for $500 or more, the invoice description is: 2 boxes med vinyl powder free gloves.

They do business by several names. The remit addresses are UPS Stores in Texas. This vendor is known by many names: Ampex Medical, Rivera Medical, Advanced Medical & Superior Medical these are all DBA's. The corporation name is Falcon International Industries EIN#45-5613394. Mike Allen (Michael A Dirksen) & Mike Adams (Michael A. Dirksen), Doug Bishop (Michael E Arnold) Mike Brown (Michael E Arnold). William Baxter (Michael E Arnold) make the sales calls and collection calls. They are very aggressive when trying to collect on the invoice. They've cursed at my Director of Nursing at three of our care centers. Doug Bishop left me a voice mail on 07/30/12 he used profanity and called me profane names. They call and scream obscenities over the phone and hang up. As I type up this complaint I've already received three calls from Mike Allen and one voice mail.

Both criminals who are operating these scams DO NOT even have a license in California nor in Texas to operate all of these business names they've used - AMPEX MEDICAL SUPPLIES, RIVERA MEDICAL COMPANY, ALLIED MEDICAL CO, CORBIN SUPPLY, ADVANCED MEDICAL CO, SUPERIOR MEDICAL CO...which are all scams.

Basically what Rivera Medical Company does is they call you to phish for information. They ship and invoice you for medical golves you never authorized or ordered. This happened to a friend of mine and now she is having a hard time shorting this out. Rivera Medical Company claims that the golves were authorized and that the outrageous invoice is valid. I'm not even sure where Rivera Medical Companys' corporate office is out of, but I found their address in California on Business Consumer Alliance. Their phone number (888) 857-3945 is no longer in service. My friend and I cannot get through to them. We will be contacting BCA to file a complaint.



Criminals, Michael Emoreth Arnold and Michael Alan Dirksen don't even have a license to operate in California or anywhere else. They use several business names to scam private doctors, clinics, hospitals ECT and constantly move and change phone numbers in order to keep from getting caught! COMPLAINT: Mike Arnold called our company offering "the opportunity" to test their medical gloves. He stated that this was a test of a pair or two and a price list. NOT a purchase of a cases of $229 gloves. He is extremely pushing then ships 2 boxes of gloves that usually cost under $30 a box, but when you receive this "product test" there is a packing slip and bill for $229.00 per box plus freight and handling. We sent them right back to them and the box returned to us yet again with the "return to sender - no returns accepted" written in black marker. Mike Arnold then calls numerous times a day demanding payment. He is very rude and aggressive. I now have an invoice for $562.65 and gloves that they have refused to accept back. He offers to send UPS out to pick up a check yet will not take back the product that we do not want or ask for. This product test turned into a real high priced scam and now we can not get him to take back this product or get him to stop calling repeatedly. He refuses to work with anyone and gets very loud and rude when spoken to.

Desired Settlement: We would like him to take back the product and stop harassing us. This is not what was he said. He said it would be a small product test not a blown up sale.

Gloves arrived along with hard candies :) After arrival we started receiving numerous rude calls a day about sending them payment for the gloves. Decided to go ahead and pay them thinking it was just a misunderstanding about being "free samples" Few weeks later 4 more cases of gloves arrive. No ONE ordered these. Each time their number is called it goes to a recording. Have not heard back from them as stated in their recorded message. Will continue to contact them, especially after we receive their bill.

COMPLAINT: A member of our Purchasing department answered a call from Rivera Medical stating that they had an exam glove order for us that had been on backorder and did we want them to ship them. We received eight boxes of exam gloves and an invoice for $458.00 plus $33.50 freight for a total of $491.50. Initial contact about this was handled unprofessionally by a representative of Rivera Medical about the fact that we placed the order and need to pay the invoice. Besides the fact that we do not order anything without a purchase order, and never do phone orders, it would appear from what is shown online that this is a scam that they do nationwide. The other thing is the ridiculous amount of money they charge for the product. We pay around $10.00 a box for the exam gloves we use, and they invoiced us 458.00 for eight boxes (57.25 each). Finally spoke to a representative at Rivera Medical today and told him we would be shipping the product back and will not pay the invoice.

Moorpark firm's sales tactics spark Better Business Bureau caution

The Tri-County Better Business Bureau is cautioning businesses that use latex gloves to be wary of phone calls from the Rivera Medical Co. in Moorpark.

?Make your employees aware to be cautious if you get calls from anyone asking about replenishing their supplies, because what they?re trying to do is trick them into ordering merchandise,? BBB President Rick Copelan said.

No one from Rivera?s staff, including listed owner Mike Arnold, could be located for comment.

The BBB has given the company an F rating after receiving more than a dozen complaints from businesses around the nation alleging Rivera billed them for products not ordered. In many cases, the businesses received unsolicited phone calls from someone offering free trial gloves that were then shipped with $451.50 invoices, according to the BBB.

A Florida podiatrist complained to the BBB that someone from Rivera contacted his staff and misrepresented that it was the doctor?s established vendor. ?They tricked our staff into OK?ing the goods, which they claimed were ready to be shipped,? the complaint read. ?When we received the goods, we realized this was not our regular vendor and we did not require these goods. We called to clarify the shipment. Mr. William Baxter from Rivera (Medical) Company was very rude, unprofessional and hung up on us.?

Complaints to the BBB indicate Baxter was the ?warehouse supervisor? at Rivera, but there is no warehouse at the company?s address, 530 W. Los Angeles Ave., #115-210 in Moorpark. That address belongs to The UPS Store.

A spokesman at UPS said Rivera Medical is an active box holder there.

Rivera, however, has no website, and its phone number has been disconnected.

The city of Moorpark has not issued the company a business license.

Chief Deputy District Attorney Greg Brose deals in consumer protection issues. He said he didn?t have any information about the Rivera matter but noted that in general, ?when a business lists a mail-box drop as a business address, the business is frequently trying to hide its true location and may not be responsive to consumer complaints.?

Debra Henderson, procurement officer at a community clinic run by the Ninilchik Tribe in Alaska, said she gets three to four calls a year from businesses using similar tactics ? trying to get her clinic to buy supplies it has not ordered and does not want. ?These people know how to work the system,? she said.

After someone from Rivera got one of her employees on the phone, Henderson said, the clinic ended up with ?cheap? surgical gloves and a bill for $451.50.

Henderson complained to the BBB and hasn?t heard from Rivera since. Now her clinic has implemented a policy that requires all suppliers to speak directly with her.

Accounting departments should be on the lookout, recommends Cortney Cotter, an administrative staff member at a family practice in Sacramento that complained to the BBB about Rivera.

Cotter believes Rivera was hoping her accounting department would blindly pay $163 for a dozen boxes of gloves the practice would normally get at a fraction of the cost. Cotter and other staff members investigated and did not pay, but she was surprised to see in the complaints to the BBB that some medical offices did pay before realizing something wasn?t right.

?We?re really glad we looked into it,? she said.

Staff person in Receiving department within hospital receives a call saying that they need the address to ship gloves ordered by the Home Health Department.  Staff member provides shipping address.  Then 2 cases of gloves show up with her name and an invoice for over $500.  This is for 10 boxes of gloves, so $50/box of gloves.  With a note on the invoice saying merchandise is not returnable without written consent and subject to a shipping and restocking charge. Items must be returned within 15 days of the date of invoice.  A late charge of 5% may be applied to invoices paid after due date.  Unpaid invoices past 60 days may be subject to a 5% penalty per month.  Buyer agrees to pay reasonable attorney's fees and collection cost in addition to any other relief afforded to enforce collection.

As the director of the supply chain when the staff person brought this to my attention I told her I had seen or heard of this happening at other facility's.  We shipped the gloves back with the invoice inclosed saying that we had scammed into "agreeing" to the shipment of these gloves.
Today a call was transferred to me from our Home Health department saying that they had a Steve Rivers on the line calling to inquire about the payment status on the invoice, could she transfer the call to me or to Accounts Payable.  Not knowing the person was on the line I stated, "this must be the company that scammed Pattie into having gloves shipped and invoicing us for over $500."  Then Steve enters the call to say that he is offended and that we approved the order and need to pay for the gloves.  I told him there was no way we would pay for gloves that cost this much.  He said that he had a corrected invoice for just 10 boxes as the first invoice was for over 40 which is what Pattie "agreed" to order, but we had refused 40 boxes when UPS attempted delivery.  

We are not only a shipping but a recieving department so we don't refuse packages unless they are damaged.  I went to get Pattie to verify how many boxes she had gotten and returned.  When we returned to the line he said we were screaming a yelling and totally unprofessional.  I told him we had already filed a complaint with the BBB.  He said he just wanted to get us the corrected invoice to pay for the 10 boxes of gloves that we had signed for and he had confirmation with UPS.  

He continued to say that we were rude and obnoxious customers and had several facilities that order gloves from them, he was shocked at our unprofessionalism.  We finally just hung up.  

He then called back to our Home Health department and told them he cannot believe that a hospital would have two idiots working and dealing with vendors like us.  She then transferred him to my voicemail.  Here is verbattum what is on the message left today, "...don't really understand the phone etiquette in the way in which you were talking to me, I am a little shocked by that especially if this IS a business in a hospital.  I would expect that you would have a little more restraint.  It is rude and obnoxious...if you would like to call me back to resolve this before I turn this over to my supervisor.  Again you are rude and obnoxious." Received today at 11:59 EST.

Then of course we find a corrected invoice for $142.98 on our fax machine.

We don't intend to call you back Steve.  The gloves have been returned, we have a tracking number.

We will not be paying the invoice for $142.98 dated 3/13/2013, but received today 4/5/2013.

Please stop calling hospitals that have gloves on their shelves.  If they want your gloves they will call you, not the reverse.

That's right, under the provision (47 CFR 64.1200 (e)(2)(iii)) which is a provision within the Telephone Consumer Protection Act of 1991 (TCPA) - There's a detailed guide produced by folks of UCAN.ORG which is worth downloading.

This is how it works, when a telemarketer calls you:
Report the number to whycall.me (good for reporting all annoying calls), including the name of the agent that called.

Ask the agent to be put on the Do Not Call list (this different from DNC, this list is managed by the company)

Take down the name of the agent who called and request the postal address of the company
Send a certified letter (with a return receipt) demanding to be placed on the company's do not call list (keep a copy along with the return receipt, which you may need to use as proof.

Wait 30 days (refer to your original complaint on whycall.me if you forget the date and name of the rep)
Now each time the telemarketer calls you can get $500 by suing them in small claims court (which is pretty easy to do)

If you think it's a rare occasion for a company to get fined, think again, just look at the list of companies fined for junk faxing (http://transition.fcc.gov/eb/tcd/ufax.html) keep in mind that junk faxing has gone down significantly so instances of telemarketers calling you is much bigger.

There are businesses out there like ours - those who have fallen victim to their scams and those who did a little research and found out they are scamming many several states. After speaking to a few other businesses about these scammers and their scams, I found out the scammers have called from all of the following phone numbers: 877-490-4714, 888-857-3945, 877-591-3777, 888-428-8567, 877-818-713-8130, 713-334-2166, 713-334-2685, 888-999-8826, 888-238-9290, 281-238-9290, 888-844-9290, 714-568-0111, 888-841-3313, 713-334-2166, (Fax) 888-238-9290. All these phone numbers are or were registered under several business names, (same scammers) and a few of those business names were based in either Houston Texas, and several cities in California (Simi Valley, Thousand Oaks, Thousand Oaks, Los Angeles, Bakersfield, Chatsworth, Orange) Also found out Michael Emoreth Arnold recently moved from Simi Valley California to, Katy Texas which is only minutes from Houston Texas.

If it wasnt for public forums like these, for the public to post comments about evil puppets like, Michael Emoreth Arnold and Michael Alan Dirksen who lust after greed and money, ripping off innocent people and scamming them out of their hard earned money with their business names such as; Falcon International Industries, IHTA inc, DMZ inc, Rivera Medical Company, Ampex Medical Company/Suppy, Advanced Medical Co, Allied Medical Co/Supplies, Superior Medical Co, Alpha Medical Co, Corbin Supply, and many others then we would have fallen victim to their scams like many other business have, unfornately. Your tactic in calling our department and lying in saying our shipping clerk placed an order with your company, then changing your lie and saying we must have placed an order with you online through your website is very deceptive and you thought you would get away with it. Think again! We aren't paying you you a cent! Stop calling and harassing us, threatening and cussing out our employees to pay you for a bogus invoice! We NEVER called you! We NEVER placed any orders with you, previously, currently and won't ever do so in the future - so you can pick up all 100 cases of your used up junk "so called medical gloves" which you shipped to us fraudulently. We are generously giving you 2 weeks to pick up your junk or we will donate them to a charity, if they will accept it, if not, we'll just throw it away! HOW TO STOP TELEMARKETERS CALLING!

1. Get off their calling list - In the U.S. sign up for the National Do Not Call Registry @ www.donotcall.gov
Tell them to put you on their "DO NOT CALL LIST"  They are legally required to take you off their calling list and can't contact you again for 10 years!

2. Gather Evidence (you can sue and press criminal charges if the telemarketer is running a scam. You can also sue if they call you again after you asked them not to.) Here are 10 questions they are to answer truthfully.  If they lie it'll cost them $500 a question.
(1) Is this a telemarketing call?
(2) Will you tell me your full name?
(3) What is the name of the organization you are calling for?
(4) What is the company's phone number including area code?
(5) Do you keep a "do not call list?"
(6) I would like my number put on that list, can you do that now?
(7) Can you make sure your company cannot call me for any other reason?
(8) Will your company keep my number on its "do not call list for at least 10 years?
(9) Does your company have a written policy that says you can't call me?
(10) Can you send me a copy of that policy?

If they do not begin the call by telling you what they are trying to sell to you. If they don't tell you their contest doesn't require you to buy anything or if they send you a fax, then serious money is on it's way

3. Sue them! Once you gathered your notes go to your local small claims court and file a $500 claim for each violation.There's a strong chance they'll want to settle out of court and send you a check before you ever have to set foot in a courtroom.

When calling to say we were returning the third shipment, they said another was on the way. When researching online, there were a number of links for this this company and their phone scam involving hospitals and fairly large institutions. I see also that they have changed their name, address, etc... and/or variations of the same.

Desired Settlement: Would like this company investigated for this.

COMPLAINT: Rivera Medical called our company stating our ******* ***** *** "*******" told them to call and let us know the medical glove prices were going up. They gave us an opportunity to buy a couple cases at the current cost before it went up. The clerk said it was ok. We then received the gloves and they were the wrong ones. We tried to contact Micke Arnold and Mike Dirksen and the message machine disconnected when trying to leave a message during the "return policy period". In the meantime, Mike Brown aka Mike Arnold was contacting our accounts payable to be paid immediately. They also continued to send shipments that were not ordered. Once I was able to reach Mike Arnold, they said we are now out of the return policy period. They admitted to never doing business with us in the past. They state they either got our information from an old account or we inquired online. Neither of which is true. We feel this is a SCAM and would like a refund. We will gladly return the unopened cases of gloves.

COMPLAINT: Their telemarketer called our company offering "the opportunity" to test their medical gloves. She stated that this was a test of a pair or two and a price list. NOT a purchase of a cases of $229 gloves. He is extreamly pushing then ships 2 boxes of gloves that usually cost under $30 a box, but when you receive this "product test" there is a packing slip and bill for $229.00 per box plus freight and handling. We sent them right back to them and the box returned to us yet again with the "return to sender - no returns accepted" written in black marker. Mike Arnold then calls numerous times a day demanding payment. He is very rude and aggressive. I now have an invoice for $562.65 and gloves that they have refused to accept back. He offers to send UPS out to pick up a check yet will not take back the product that we do not want or ask for. This product test turned into a real high priced scam and now we can not get him to take back this product or get him to stop calling repeatly. He refuses to work with anyone and gets very loud and rude when spoken to.

Desired Settlement: We would like him to take back the product and stop harrassing us. This is not what was he said. He said it would be a small product test not a blown up sale.

Funny and sad how these jerks operate. They called our facility about about 2 years saying they wanted to send us a complimentary box of free gloves to try out and a free bag of candy just for listening to their sales pitch and trying out their cheap gloves. At the time, the clerk who worked for us said the person who contacted her sounded like a very young girl who spoke sorta ghetto and used slang words. She said the girl told her she's a telemarketer for Superior Medical located in Houston Texas.  Our clerk said, "no thanks, we already order our gloves from a approved vendor, thanks anyway." The girl said she wanted to send the free candy just for taking up our clerks time. The clerk said, "no thanks" then hung up.  Our clerk did exactly as she was instructed to do. The telemarketer girl called right back, asked who she was speaking to, our clerk said, "M****" the telemarketer girl said, "b#$^&$ who you think you are hanging up on me?!! I'm gonna get yo a$$ fired B#%$!" At that time we were already informed by other facilities not to accept anything from Superior Medical and Advanced Medical Co. - same scammers as Ampex Medical aka Rivera Medical Co. A few days later we ended up with several cases of gloves and several invoices with our clerks name on all the shipping paperwork and invoices.  I called Superior Medical, asked to speak to the manager and was told he was out of the country on vacation. I asked for the owner and was told he lives in France and unavailable. I told "Mike Brown" (Michael Arnold or Michael Dirksen) about the incident with their telemarketer.  He said he pulled up our account and our clerk "M***" placed an order for over 40 cases of gloves to be shipped every week for the next 3 months. I was furious! Told him he was full of crap! Our clerks was already informed and knows all about their scam, she never placed any orders.with them. He called me a liar and said we better pay them for every case and the candy too! Told him we weren't paying for any of it, he is more than welcome to come pick up his gloves or send return labels so we can ship it all back to him. He called me a lying B@##$ and yelled out a bunch of other obscenities. I hung up on him. He called back at least 30 times. I let every call go to voice mail. He left 20 messages stating we were going to pay the bill or face legal action. Many threats. Yea, sure...now go fly a kite!

First of all, we do NOT and NEVER had any "account" with these losers. Second, we order our gloves from a reputable and professional APPROVED vendor. Third, we do NOT place any orders from vendors that are NOT approved and Fourth, we do NOT place orders without a document called a PO! Mike Brown (Michael Arnold/Michael Dirksen) harassed every one in our facility every day for over a month yelling out obscenities, threatening to come to our homes and hurt us and our families then threatened to come after each one of us if we did not send them money! He tried to intimidate us and said he and his partner carry concealed weapons. He also said he reported us to the KKK, NAACP and LULAC for being racist and calling them a bunch of racist names. They threatened to report us to D & B and other credit agencies if we didn't pay them. Enough! The Manager contacted our legal dept, they contacted the FBI, FTC and Attorney General and filed complaints. A letter was sent to the scammers/losers. A few days later we received return labels. We returned every bit of their crap they shipped to us including the cheap 5 pieces of candy.  A few weeks ago we received a call from Ampex Medical aka Rivera Medical a new telemarketer, same company as before. A young girl stating she was sending out a free box of gloves and candy for us to try. Luckily, I answered the phone. Told her not interested, thank you and I hung up. She called back. I said, "no thank you" I hung up.  She calls back and says she wanted to at least read her script to me. I asked, "what script?" She said, "the script Mike Arnold, I meant Mike Brown, told her to read." Told her not to call back or I was calling the police. Twenty miinutes later I received a call from Mike Brown. He asked if there was a problem with their telemarketer. I said, "No, you are the problem and not to ever call our business ever again!" These losers actually believed they would scam us the 1st time and call again to try their scam for the 2nd time?! Good Grief! Are you that hard up for money idiot!? Has it ever crossed your mine to get a REAL JOB??! Don't ever call our business again!

The callers real name is Michael Emoreth Arnold and he moved from California to Houston to continue his scam operation.  The office in California is still open for scam business and Michael E Arnold has another associate running his scam in that office.  Michael E Arnold's goal is deceive and trick you by telling you that you ordered from them before, or you placed an order with them, or that Rivera Medical, Ampex Medical, Falcon, Allied Medical, Advanced Medical, Superior Medical, Corbin Supply, are your approved vendors for gloves or that someone else in your business placed a glove order with them which is why you received an enormous shipment of cases and cases every week for a month or two....ALL LIES!  This is all part of his scam. They've had at least 20 toll free phone numbers which they no longer use because they keep changing their number. The number they currently use now is 888-857-3945/713-774-4800/713-774-4801.  Their office is at 10333 Harwin Dr. Suite 170, Houston, TX 77036, and they don't ever provide this information.  They use at least 8-10 PO box addresses which are all inside UPS stores in Houston/Katy and in California. I am fed up with these losers calling my facility to harass us ever day demanding we pay them for a bogus order on a bogus invoice! we never ordered anything from you! you called us to scam us and say you were sending us a free box of gloves to try out for FREE with a bag of candy of Free candy. next thing we know we begin to receive cases every week from you along with bogus invoices. we never gave you any authorization to ship your used up  junk medical gloves! we never ordered any of your used junk medical gloves! we are not paying to have them returned either. when you called our facility to try and scam us by saying YOU ARE SENDING IT FREE and COMPLIMENTARY my clerk told you she is not authorized to accept any orders and you told her it wasn't an order, you said it is FREE for us to try, so why would you continue to ship more and send us invoices for every shipment that we never ordered including the shipment you said was FREE?!! Same thing happened to us (home care agency).  Rivera called to "confirm" our address and got the name of our receptionist (and tried to say the receptionist ordered gloves from them).  Then we received two small cases of low-quality gloves (5 boxes per case) and a bill that was nearly $500.00.  When I confronted an employee at the company (Mike Adams), he told me it must have been an accident, that part of the order didn't arrive and then he pretended to look up the tracking info for the other boxes (even though in earlier conversations, he had insisted the order was complete).  I thanked Mr. Adams for the gifts (the unsolicited boxes of gloves).  Thankfully, one of Rivera's (now) ex-employees spent their last day at work calling all of the people Rivera had duped, to tell them the company is a "scam".

BEWARE!!! A call came in asking to speak with who was in charge of our purchasing supplies. This person was a female and said she wanted to inform us that the cost of specific gloves was going up and they wanted us to be aware and wanted to send us some complimentry boxes of gloves along with a box of chocolates, and asked the size we generally ordered. About a week later we received two cases of gloves along with 2 bags of hard candy that anyone could pick up from a dollar store. Approximately a week later we received an invoice in the amount of $491.50. Now.... can you imagine our shock at this invoice? When it was suppose to be complimentry, (free). 4 boxes of gloves to a case for $229.00, that's $57.25 a box, REALLY!!! These same boxes can be purchased at any retail store for less than $7.00 a box. I called this company to inquire how this went from being complimemtry (free) to $491.50, unless it was after the due date at which time the cost would be $522.98. I think not brother! You will be getting these boxes of vinyl back, compliments of of me...But hey, thanks for the candy. I'm just curious, are you also the company that calls about Copier Toner? PS... This company has also been reported to the BBB on several separate occasions...

Our nursing home just went through a big change in ordering our supplies. The company we usually use was bought out. During this time of change I got a call for Rivera Medical Supply and they offered free first supplie with a bix of chocolates. To give me a thanks for ordering from them. Come to find out I called the company and notified of the bill for $491.50 for 10 boxes of glove. OUr distributer charges only 3.44 per box. This is a scam I was told to report it and thats what Im doing. Also they didn't bill it to the company I work for they sent the bill to me ion my name. So glad I didn't give them my personnal information like my ss#. There address is 565 South Mason Road Suite# 484 Katy Tx, 77450. Also when you call the 1888 857 3945 they do not say the name of the company just say their operators are busy and to leave a call back number and invoice number so they can contact you. If you dont have that they cant talk to you at all.. BE AWARE!!!
