Sorry but you haVe just made yourself the idiot. People do call claiming that you owe an unpaid debt and attempt to collect by intimidation. It's called a scam. I have had people call and tell me to get a lawyer because they were going to serve leagle documents. Then they begin to ramble and never answer any questions and nothing ever becomes of it. Do not call people idiots lest you make one of yourself.

877-490-5945 iQor Inc. Debt Collection Agency

Here's an article by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation that reported on the illegal activity conducted by iQor Collections Agency which has been found GUILTY and fined thousands of dollars in Quebec and Alberta for harrassing people who didn't owe anyone any money.

Collection agency harassed debt-free Canadians - Hundreds of complaints filed across country against iQor Canada
http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/story/2012/10/3 ... ng-numbers.html

IQor Inc., the New York-based global parent company.

Employees of one of Canada's largest debt collection agencies, iQor Canada, have routinely and sometimes knowingly contacted people who did not owe debt, a practice for which the company has been fined several times this year, a CBC News investigation has found.

Hundreds of complaints have been filed over the past few years about iQor Canada to provincial consumer affairs agencies, the federal telecommunications regulator CRTC, and the RCMP Anti-Fraud Squad, many stemming from repeated phone calls to people who don't owe any money.

Former employees told CBC News about calling non-debtors ? including relatives of debtors and unrelated people with a similar last name to a debtor.

"We would just keep calling them and calling them and calling them,? a former employee told CBC News.

The insider, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said that in some cases the debt collection agency only had the last name of a debtor and would call everyone with the same last name in the general geographical vicinity.

?[The company] just pays us to call them and we call them and we don?t bother with if it?s honest or not," said the former iQor worker.

The former employee said he believed some people even paid for debts they never owed.

Alberta and Quebec have slapped iQor Canada with a total of $25,710 in fines for violating provincial regulations this year. (2012)

Quebec fined iQor Canada $12,510 in February for several violations of their consumer protection regulations, such as continuously contacting a non-debtor, failing to correspond only in writing when asked to do so and failing to respond on time to an information request.

Alberta also fined the company for a total of $13,200, including for restitution, related to several cases that included collecting money from someone who didn't owe it, calling someone excessively to the point of harassment, pursuing a debt after the statute of limitations had expired and calling a person more than three times in a week.

The American subsidiary of iQor, Allied Interstate Inc., was fined $1.75 million in 2010 by the U.S. Federal Trade Commission for its alleged attempts to collect debts from debt-free individuals, "harassing phone calls" and the use of "abusive language.?

Following a high-volume of complaints in the United States, supervision of debt collection agencies is slated to fall under a federal agency, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, for the first time starting in January of 2013.

*NOTE* Record the number of harassing calls and then Report these @holes to the CRTC so they they can be fined repeatedly as they harass people.

Realistically everyone who has received a call from these immoral @holes should join a class action lawsuit and literally sue them out of business, so that they are completely bankrupt and penniless, living on the streets.

As others have posted, it is Accounts Recovery Corporation.

Here's a suggestion for those that DO have debts and are tired of getting constant calls at random times during the day.

Answer the phone, once they ask for you, ask to confirm the address that they have on file for you.
Once you confirm that they have your correct address, ask that all further communications be sent in writing.
It is an OFFENSE if a debt collector does not follow your request and they can be reported to the Consumer Protection Agency for your province.

This is a F*cking useless parasitic company staffed by @holes for their own nefarious purposes.

Fight Back! The easiest way to do so is to buy the latest Panasonic phone that has "Call Blocking" feature built right into the phone. The next time these @holes call you, simply add them to the "Bolcked Callers" list and you won't be bothered by that number again.

If you have an Andriod cell phone, simply add the number to the "Blocked Callers" list and never listen to these @holes again.

Got an i-Phone? Simply add their number to the "Blocked Callers" list as well and you are done with them.

F*CK Them and any company who operates with harassing phone calls.
These F*ckers hate it when you use technology to fight back. So go ahead and kick them all in the friggin' balls!

I like how people always say they have no debt and have no idea why a collection agency would be calling them. A collections company is actually a very professional setting and doesn't just call random idiots up and claim that the person owes them money. They clearly have to get your number from someone that you owe money to. There are fees associated with referring someone to a debt collector and being put in collections. It would be pretty fricken ridiculous and expensive to pay a collection agency to handle a non existent debt. But there will always be people saying they have zero debt, because nothing has never relapsed in their bank account or fell threw the cracks of their cheque book. I do not work for a debt collector nor ever have. Judging by the amount of people here that never had debt and have always paid everything off immediately. I guess i am just one of the extremely rare of the few and far between people that actually do have a lot of debt...and avoid bill collectors daily

Don't give IQOR any money.  If they are harassing you on mobile phone, find an app that can dump their calls. For example, I use Mr. Number for my android phone.  It is illegal for them to call mobile phones, but I am enjoying giving them a taste of their own medicine.  I don't think it will do any good anyways to report them..  They were fined 8 months and it did not teach them a lesson.

Do the same to them that they do to you.  They cannot complain to anyone that you are calling them and not saying anything.  That is what they are doing to you.

Please don't give IQOR any money.  They continue to break laws including Ontario provincial laws. For example, they knowingly harass people on their mobile phones.  That is illegal.

Once in a while when I get really annoyed, I repeatedly call them back using pay phones.  I am hoping to cost them money by using their toll free lines and I am hoping to waste the time of their employees.  I am told they work on commission.

If everybody who is annoyed at them would each make several phone calls a day to them, we will put them out of business.Don't use your own phone.  Don't identify yourself.

1-877-490-5945   Calling... again... and again for no good reason...Accounts Recovery Corporation by the sounds of the other posts here. There is no one on the other end of the line, just silence...another illegal robocall.

DON'T GED MAD... GET EVEN !!!
LET'S SUE THE B@STARDS ~ CLASS ACTION LAWSUITS TO BANKRUPT THESE CRIMINALS.

It's high past the time when these ignorant b@stards need to be shutdown because of there unethical robocalling and harassing calls and there is one legal way for us to do that, hiring a lawyer and sue them into bankruptcy!

The owners of the business must be held accountable and punished by making them go bankrupt.
They're already morally bankrupt so they might as well be financially bankrupt as well.

Let's ALL GO AFTER THEM AND TAKE THEM FOR EVERY PENNY THEY'VE GOT!

It's time to bankrupt them by filing a class action lawsuit against them. They'll go bankrupt from just the legal fees. Not only should the company be named in the lawsuit, but the names of the people that run their corporation. Take them for everything they've got and leave them penniless, homeless and starving.

I have been recieving these calls for a few weeks now- there is usually no one there when i answer- i have called back a time or 2 and got the dead air really annoying!! they never leave a voice mail either. to day there was a voice at the end of the line- he had a thick middle eastern accent asked my name- just first name- i asked who was calling he said Fido- the the call dropped. I called back as i have service with them- and he says its iqor- I ask what that is he said he couldnt tell me with out confirming my bday and sin, and mailingg address- I refused to give anything and let him know that he was asking for info that could be used in identity fraud- he again said i need you to confirm you bday and the other info as he has a File on me.... so i asked what address he had- not mine- and he hung up on me- Im in manitoba If these are creditors do they not have to identify the reason for calling- and how do they expect us just to hand out info to strangers who wont even tell us what kind of company they are calling from- all the info  they asked is all the info I would need to fill out a credit card app is it not!!!! I have know debt- so im finding this fishy- So be cautious every one--- I guess now ill wait for that 500.00 cell bill for calling them back now :( lol

He said he would remove my number from their list.

This number 877 490 5945 has been calling me for a week now! (Even on the weekends) I don't give out my cell number and do not have outstanding bills etc. I just was ignoring calls as I don't have daytime airtime, I finally got sick of it! Yesterday they called 6:30 am, 9:30 am, 11:10am,3:15pm,5:32pm,7:32 and then finally 9:15pm.

I answered and there was no long pause..the woman asked for a gentlemen named "Donald" told her noone lives here by that name, i have no idea what company it was. Iexplained that this is a cell phone i have it only for  texting and that she is costing me money...explained the number has been mine for a year, and to stop calling and put me on their do not call list. She apologized ,confirmed the number and said it would take affect in 48 hrs.

We shall see!

Same thing here, 5-8 times/day, 6 days a week. They refuse to tell me who they are yet demand my birthday?? These people won't stop. I've asked them to mail me information, which means legally they have to stop calling. Not only did I not get the mail, they continue to call from as early as 8am to as late as 8pm. My 17month old son goes to bed at 7, it's bloody terrific when the call and wake him up.
