This number is associated with a felon scam artist NOT Capital One.  Do you nitwits really think Capital One needs to call and ask you quesitons...when you are not a customer?  And now you believe that Capital One is advertising on Craigslist for non paid employees to work in the background of so called TV shows/movies?  Get smart fast...it's a scam for your personal information and judging be the responses here, it probably works some of the time.  ALWAYS Google a number that you don't know or that is on Craigslist before calling it.  We live in critical times with lots of fiercely bad individuals.

I just Googled this phone number (877-491-7472) after reading a job advertisement on Craigs List Denver.  I Googled the # because I always like to research the legitimacy of job posting I'm interested in .... especially ones found on Craigs List!  I find it extremely interesting that after Googling the contact phone number for this job, results in 800notes shows me this is actually Capitol One!?  Pffft!  I did not and won't call the phone number regarding this job they've posted, but wonder if I did ... what would happen?  Odds are, in my opinion, if someone calls regarding the job, they run your name through their database, to see if you're a Capitol One customer who has defaulted on their account & if they do see you're name in their database, they probably set up a phony job interview with you ... so they can serve you a summons or something?  Just a thought.  By the way, I forgot to mention that Google shows they have this job posted on pretty much every major city's Craigs List!  Even more suspicious, considering this job is supposedly for a motion picture being filmed in Denver, Colorado!?!  The Craig List posting is entitled "Major Motion Picture Hiring Background Actors" and claims to pay up to $300/day plus meals.

Got 6 calls from this number in one day, different people call each time and they always ask for my coworker and say that they are from Capital One. I just called Capital One and asked they told me that the number is not associated with them and that they were going to report the number to their security department. Do not give these people any personal information, it is a scam!

PLEASE DON'T ANSWER THESE PEOPLE OR GIVE THEM ANY INFO.  They called and I entered telephone number into yahoo search and this pages was the 1st result I received.  After reading the notes I decided to call them back to see if what was said was true.  IT IS TRUE!  The gentlemen asked if my day was going well and tried his best to be kind and nice (I guess in a effort to get me to give up my personal info i.e. SS#)  He first asked if I had any business with Capital One?  RED FLAG!  I said "Yes" then he said "IN ORDER TO DETERMINE WHY WE (yes, why he was calling me) ARE CALLING YOU, WE NEED YOUR ACCOUNT OR SS# TO PULL UP YOUR ACCOUNT"

Calling ten times today

This is obviously a SCAM call, calling 4 -5 times a day for 2 weeks now. I answered the call twice and she promise to remove my number form their calling list?? yet, they NEVER do so.  If some one knows where to report this, please do so before someone get hurt.

Yeah, they called me, too,. NEVER give your personal information out to any organization...even if it's one you recognize. It's always fraud.  Report the number to do the Do Not Call registry

Keep getting calls from this scam company. Probably attached to a scam moving company I hired a year ago. They still haven't show up to move me, but they banged my card really nice. Anyway, definitely a scam...

I started getting calls this week 2 or 3 a day on my cell phone.  I answer and no one says anything I call it back and get no answer just a noise. I  plan on blocking the number today since it just woke me up on my only day off.

Again, I got a call this morning from this number at around 8:07 am.
I called back this number(8774915477) and a guy answered claiming he was a representative for Capitol one bank. He started asking for my personal information and soon realized it was a scam. So I called the 800 number for capital one bank and reported it. IT DOES NOT BELONG TO CAPITAL ONE!!!!

I get calls from this number about 6-8 times per day.  I only use this phone for emergencies for my kids so its very disrupting at work.  I am calling Verizon to see if there are any blocking options!

Twice this morning (8:06 AM & 10:37 AM) I've received calls from this number.  I answer, they hang up.
It shows up as unavailable on the Call ID screen.

I have been getting up to 8-10 calls a day from this number. I called it back and they say it is Capitol One. I have never in the past,present, and definatly will never do business with this company. I also called Capitol One customer service and the number is not associated with them. I spoke to a person at the 1-877 number and told them that they are disobeying the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and that I was recording the conversation myself.....they immmediately hung up. So to make a wild guess I would say that these people are trying to scam people for the holidays and I would suggest that noone give them any personal info over the phone. IT IS A SCAM !

I called Capitalone 1800 number. This number is not affiliated with the bank. I was also dispatched to my local branch. My account is in good standing. Branch representative suggested not to call or give any information to persons calling. Receive approximately several calls a day. It's a scam.

SB just call me almost 10 time a day,using this number! WTF!

have been called every hour by this number, and they either do not leave a message or they ask for me on the VM.  It is legitimately Capital One, and they are the collections department.  If your account has been in the negatives as is my current situation.  I explained my situation, they are helpful and understanding, though a little harassing if you don't answer.

I got a call last week and again today,  This time they left a mixed up message.  I know it's Capitol one.  I called back and yelled at them if they cll my number again I will report it.  They were caught off guard.  When they answered they were talking among themselves.  They are a bunch of idiots.  I will report them.  I don't have any card or anything with Capitol One,

received a call from this number - when I answered and said "Hello", it was just silence.

Like all the other posts-----they call and call several times a day---as early as 7:12 a.m. and like other posts--the one time they did pick-up--they were having technical problems with the phone, but it didn't stop them for calling back the next hour.

Just started getting these a few days ago, but only just managed to catch the incoming number (rather than the callback one). Not a Capital One customer; obviously a scam.

Message said it was Capitol One calling about a personal matter. I called Capitol One and this number is not affiliated with them in any way.
They were quite concerned.

Kept receiving calls from them the rec stated they were calling from cap one but when I tried to call back all I got was music then it'd hang up. I called cap one cuts serv directly and they told me this number is not associated with them and not to give them any of my information.

I called them and they asked me if I had business with Capital One (which I don't) so I told him no and he said that he'd have my number removed from their system.

How random and stupid!

I received a call from this number...said to call a 855 number as a courtesy from Capital !.
Instead I called 877-491-5477 and it was answered by a gentlemen that identified that he was from Capital 1 and he wanted my SS# or account number so he could direct my call.
I declined and I thanked him.

I am not going to give out my SS# and account number to anyone over the phone.

Got this same call. Didn't answer & they didn't leave a voicemail
