10/5/2012 a flyer was left on my front door while someone was home. It read "The Washington Energy Programs can refer you and your needs to reputable companies that will complete most any project and set all costs on a payment schedule which will allow you to pay what you want." Yes, it sounds too good to be true...I did my search on Google and found this site. But I figured what was there to lose? 2 days after calling the number, I was told I would be referred to a contractor....no questions asked of what type of improvement or area where I lived. About a week later, I received a call from a 'blocked number' which appeared as a 'representative'. THIS raised some suspicion. I was then asked what improvements I needed and in what area. I was still curious since we needed our furnace replaced. 3 days later I received a call from Remodeler's, Inc. I arranged an appointment 3 days later. Remodeler's, Inc. representative had a professional appearance and seemed legitimate. I found out that the Washington Energy Programs flyer with the 877-493-1085 is a 'leads source' for contractors and are paid by the contractors. So it appears to be a separate 'business entity' on its own, although it COULD stand have a more professional 'first impression'.

Remodeler's, Inc. DID have affordable financing resources available, IF one qualifies. In my case, my credit situation prevented me from qualifying. I was fortunate enough to qualify for a loan from my Credit Union. My experience with Remodeler's, Inc. was like most 'things' in life today....who can one trust? Before accepting their bid for the job of replacing a furnace, I did as much 'due diligence' as I knew. What closed the sale was the representative telling me that now would be a good time to have the work done because as of May 1, 2013, the minimum efficiency required in the northern states will be 90% AFUE. (http://www.tecmungo.com/wordpress/?p=244). It was another interesting experience because I did some research about the furnace supplier and asked what model, % efficiency and BTU capability....the contractor didn't know but called the supplier and found out. He returned a call and told me it was a 80% AFUE efficiency and 90,000 BTU, and the total parts and labor cost was affordable and fit within my allowed loan and was told would sufficiently heat the size of my home. Well, on the day of installation, a SUB contractor showed up. I questioned the % Efficiency and BTU units....was told it was a 80% AFUE efficiency BUT a 70,000 BTU unit. Well, my mistake for not getting everything in writing on the contract agreement. When it came time to pay after the installation, I raised the subject of different BTU's and, like a politician, the blame was put on the supplier....that he just relayed what the supplier told him.

And to make matters worse, I happened to research Puget Sound Energy Rebate for furnaces today and found out "Beginning January 1, 2012, PSE has increase rebate eligibility criteria for natural gas forced-air furnaces to require installation of ENERGY STAR qualified equipment with a 95 percent AFUE rating or better."  I would think that a furnace contractor would have known about this requirement, or did he get a good discount on furnaces that have to be 'dumped' since they will not be of any use with the new laws and take advantage of common people like me who knows nothing about furnaces?

It's sad that Our country has come to the point of not being able to trust what anyone says right now, especially when going to them for advice. All I can say is Buyer beware! About as bad and corrupt as politicians - Voter beware!

You don't want these criminals casing your neighborhood. 10 to 1 they don't have the necessary permits to be doing it anyway, and the cops will shove them off to the next town.

7/18/2011 I got this flyer on my front door. Like others have said, this is too good to be true. Instead of the "representative" actually knocking on my door and interacting with me about the program, the person put this on my door while I was home and then scurried off to litter my neighbor's houses as well with this home made flyer. I have nothing against start up businesses-I operate a home business myself but establishing a good repertoire with clients and potential customers is business 101. When I called this number, the receptionist was very vague and refused to provide concrete information about this program-in any case, she said she would have someone call me back. No call yet but I will update this post if I hear from someone

Today is July 13, 2011, I have been dealing with this person, will not say the name and his companies name because I have read that this company has been very reputable company that was manage by his father for along time.  I called this number from the flier when I saw the name Washington Energy Programs 1-877-493-1085. Since April 2011 this person who said a contractor of Washington Energy Programs has been dealing with me because I want to asphalt my driveway.  He place my application to Washington Energy Programs and he said it was denied, it is worth $9,200 to asphalt my driveway and I have to pay $169.00 a month. So I said to him, I thought it says, pay as you want, then he try to convince me but I said I cannot afford it.  So since then he did not call: but three days ago he said he got this SALAL credit union to approve my loan so he came today July 13, 2011 to show me again what is the deal.  The deal is good, I was approved for $8,800 and an interest of 8.2, but he wants me to sign the contract now.  I asked him if he can come back Monday after my daughter read it as I cannot understand hard English, as there is a second language barrier.  But he insist that I sign it and let my daughter read it , to make things short when I won?t sign the damn applications he got a little bit agitated and just  break the application in half and said goodbye..   There is something wrong with this programs so what I did is look at this programs and found out that this is a scam?

I got a flyer on my door. We live in a mobile home park. If something is too good to be true, than it probably is. The flyer is something I could create on my computer. Stay away and always research before you strike any deal. Pay what you want? I'm sorry but the world just doesn't run that way. This is a scam. Do not be fooled.
