I got a text from some email saying "Bank0FAmrica" reqires my imediate attention and that I need to call right away at this 718 number 945-1663. They didn't even spell America right or thank you right. They said thank yo. Fraud.

I received a text message at 4:07 pm from my cell phone number@vtext.com. All it said was this
B a n k O f A m e r i c a N o t i f i c a t i o n. C a l l: (888) 344-3841

I called the number and a recorded voice said there was an issue with my card and I needed to reactivite it. I didn't push anything to respond and then the recording asked for my social security number to varify my identity. I hung up.

I keep gettingthese text messages from inf01@boa.com

I called them and they wanted to me to enter my card number due to " recent activity on my card"

Its a scam.


I called BOA and they said they dont send out those kind of text messages.

Please don't enter your card number.

This is a well known scam, in the banking world. I am a bank manager, and unfortunately my customers report this quite often. Obviously, you should not provide any information to this "phisher". But rather than deleting the message, forward to SPAM (7726) to notify your cell phone carrier so they can block the sender.

I've gotten multiple messages. Considering this is a new phone with a new number, I know it's a scam. I wanted to post so people would know the numbers and avoid it.

The first number always comes up with a busy signal for me. The second one says its disconnected now. The third one is a garbled voice message asking for a card number. The fourth is what sounds like someone imitating a bank of america company message. Hope this helps people out.

I called the number, an automated voice said there was fraudulent activity
on my bank of america card (i don't have a bank of america account or card!)
They wanted me to type my 16 digit number, a scam for sure!!

Got the same shady message on my phone-- so I reported it to the FTC.

I got a simular text,I have tracfone,I tried to call the number back right after I got the text since I dont do banking with them either,but the recording said the number was no longer in service.If people would put as much effort and work into trying to scam what others have worked for,then they could earn an honest living.

Just got the text from "Bank of America" asking to call 1-877-502-1064. As I don't have an account with BofA I don't think that I'll be calling.

I got the call tonight.  I just emailed Bank of America to report it and to verify it was a fake.  This thread conirmed for me that it is fake.  Hopefully BOA will use the info I sent them to keep it from happening again.

it's a scam - no bank will send a text about fraud.  They call you.  No bank ever asks for your pin = report it to bank of america as a phishing scam

Same exact message as angry posted. I too am a T-mobile customer. My wife called the number and got a recording asking for her card number as I dont have an account with bank of america but she does. will be calling them in the morning and letting them know.

I just got a text from them too and I also have T Mobile. I HAVE had an account with B of A but I'm pretty sure I canceled that at least a year ago.

This sounds like a scam because it asks for the card number, expiration date, and my pin. All of the banks aask for my account number and that's it. BEsides, I can't get an operator.

Stupid jerks.

Got the same txt msg as everyone else, mine said from 3549. I don't have any accounts with B of A so I'm ignoring it because it is a lame scam.

Got a text saying message from bank of america. not a sales message. call immediately about recent activity.  I don't have an account with them and why would they texting at 1050 pm central standard time. Way past normal business hours.

Hey, I wanted to let you all know that T-mobile is looking into it. They said there have been previous situations like this and they are tracking it. Another shining example of why I love T-mobile. :)

this was a fraud call the message said that it was from bank of america and that i needed to call it immediately when i called it it asked for my debit card number and expiration date it then said that my account is restricted so stay on the line once it asked for the secret pin to my card i knew something was wrong. I called Bank of America and they agreed that this was a fraud so f*** these people who tried to get my account info!!

They sent me a text, as well (And I'm not a Bank of America member).

BUT I got it just a few minutes after getting a call from 1-914-339-5531 (where a woman was supposedly supposed to help me find a college... only I've been at college for 3 years, now).

My personal theory is that these two incidents are related, as I haven't had any problems with my phone for MONTHS (I like to keep my phone telemarketer/scam free.)

Shame on you people. --Stop calling me.

Got the txt as well. Im on tmobile. Asking to call B of A. I don't even have an account with B of A. Obv a scam.

Got a text from  1-877 502-1064 asking me to call the number due to my bank account at Bank of America was restricted.  I called the number from a land line and the recording wanted me to punch in my account number, that's when I knew this was a scam

I got a message from Chase to call back to 1-877-432-2526 for "immediately about recent account activity". I don't even have a Chase account. AND they msged me at 6:00pm PST.

99% sure it is fraud. Then again, I am on a new number so I considered it was for the previous owner of that number. But based on these replies, I will stick with my first assumption.
