It is Geico
HJ 2013-09-24 13:44:51 Unknown
It is indeed Geico. It appears there internal systems can't update each other properly - poor interchange on the automation systems they are using. I renewed my policy at 9am Monday, received an email message @ 4pm that my policy was not updated and 9:30am Tuesday... the next day a CSR CALLS me but, states she doesn't know why - I do... time for some programmers to get in and fix their infrastructure.

It was Geico. My card had been cancelled so they couldn't collect payment. I have since taken care of it. I am a Geico customer and this is not a scam.

I received a call from this number this morning and said my bank declined my payment. I checked geico online and it went through. So watch out...

Received a call from this number claiming to be Geico, telling me that my payment was declined. I double checked online and with geico's official number and both told me that nothing was wrong with my payment. Lady at the official number did a check and said it wasn't one of theirs.
This is a scam, watch out!

I received 2 calls from this number and it is in fact Geico. My bank acct had been compromised and my debit card was shut off and a new one issued. I neglected to inform Geico and my automatic payment was rejected. Thanks for the courtesy call and email Geico.

It's Geico. My policy renewed, but my credit card expired and they just wanted the new card number. They were really nice, it was no big deal.
Bilbo 2013-03-05 19:12:57 Unknown
This is a scam. I called Gieco, they do not have number on file(call n check for yourself). This number asked for my social security #(big red flag). Hope this helps.

After reviewing the comments here, I went to geico.com. My debit card had just been renewed. I updated it. No message was left, but I must assume the above reviews were correct.
Paul 2013-01-03 19:40:38 Unknown
This is correct. Never give anything by phone. Especially credit card info.

My Bad!! I lost my CC and missed a pymnt. Geico called to get a new number. So, do you have a Geico account? It's them calling you. lol!!!
Josh 2012-11-03 16:36:01 Unknown
It's really not a scam. I got a call from this number. And whenever I get a call from a number I do not know I google it and I came to this site. So I called the number back and it was indeed Geico. My original payment didn't go through. Which I noticed also because it never cleared my account. They called to straighten it out, before my policy was cancelled. If you have any doubts just call the number and you'll find out.

Recorded message said Geico car insurance payment was not accepted by the bank & gave instructions to make that payment But I do not use this company, never have. Will file complaint.

It is Geico, they just called me for a card decline
Steve 2012-07-13 14:59:29 Debt Collector
It's GEICO. I was on automatic payments but when I moved forgot to update my card, and it got declined. The automated system called me to tell me my card was declined.
FYI, I worked for the company several years ago. If you don't have a policy they probably have your number down in error on someone else's account, so I would call the regular 800 number and tell them they have your number on file so they can get it corrected. Otherwise it'll keep happening. We used to get that all the time. And the automated system isn't able to leave a message, it just plays it's recording as soon as the line picks up.

Ace! 2012-05-09 16:05:27 Unknown
It's Geico. My CC expired and I didn't realize I'd forgotten to update it. Nice people watching your back.

Stop saying its a Scam, its not, GEICO has some of the greatest customer service representatives who are always nice and willing to work with you with any unexpected problems with your payment or information. They are calling because a payment did not go through correctly or they are having problems processing it, they do not always leave a message but they are not required to as it is a first courtesy call.
Geico will actually give you a few days to resolve the information or payment before sending out a cancellation notice, which then, they are still giving you 2 weeks to pay it before they even cancel the account sooo, these guys are pretty darn awesome.
However, I do understand peoples concern about over the phone info safety, plenty of companies are out there right now making a living off of scamming innocent people, however, Geico offers all of their features any rep can do for you on their website when you log into your Geico policy account. There you will also see the pending problem which is why the call resulted in the first place.
There is nothing shifty about this, Geico just wants you to pay your insurance!!

SCAM!!! The people who are stating its from Geico and part of the scammers... do not be fooled... you will not get my hard earned money!!
CH 2012-04-04 15:49:21 Unknown
It was Geico. I switched banks last week and hadn't updated my automatic payment information in my online account yet. At least in my case, it was NOT a scam, just an alert that my card wasn't valid. I will update it on their website.

Called my cell phone in Los Angeles at 10:18am on April 2nd, 2012.
I did not pick up and they did not leave a message.
Annie 2012-03-28 17:44:10 Unknown
Numerous calls from this number, but messages are never left. I will not return a call if there is no message. According to online posts it MAY be Geico Customer Service, but any other call I've had from Geico (my insurance company), left a message to be returned.
m.m. 2012-03-06 19:23:31 Unknown
not a scam. i know my credit card expired last month, so as soon as i saw that it was geico, i knew that it was legit.
under "call type" at the bottom of this form, why does it only assume that bad people are calling you? why isn't there a "legit call" selection?
Luke 2012-02-21 18:07:48 Unknown
Definitely Geico. I've got an auto policy with them. A couple weeks ago, I reported my debit card lost, and they were unable to charge it. I updated information with them and went on my merry way. The lady was super polite.
Customer 2012-01-17 17:03:05 Unknown
It's Geico but it's not a scam. More than likely whatever credit card you use to pay your bill has expired.
Kelly 2012-01-13 20:04:54 Unknown
It's not a scam. It's Geico's CS Department. I didn't provide them with my new debit card #.
