I received a call asking for somebody name could not be understood, the machine asks for the last 4 of a social hen does it again three times and it gives a verifax number 815-380-9515 with no one unswering, very strange

This same number has called my phone today and saying that they have a message for my girlfriend. I'm not returning the call.

got calls for someone I don't know when i first got my phone and thought it was over. now they are calling AGAIN, for the same person, and i still don't know the person they want to talk to.

This is Great Lakes attempting to collect on student loans.

They called my cell phone and my office (direct dial).  I called the number back from caller ID and was asked to enter the phone number from where I was calling and then the last four digits of my SSN to verify it was me so I could get a message from the automated message center.  I did not enter my SSN.

I did see a story on the local news this past week where people have been scammed after applying for jobs through Craigslist.  The scammer takes your personal information (address, phone number) and uses that to attempt to collect a "fake" outstanding debt.  I applied for a couple of jobs on Craigslist right before I saw that story and started to wonder if I might be setting myself up to be scammed.  Hope this helps a little.

I received a call from 877-506-8170 this a.m. too asking for a person I didn't know.  I pushed #2 and it said to give this person a message to call them back at MY phone number----no option to talk to a live person ever.

Got a call from this number early in the morning. They left a message asking for someone that I dont know. I decided to call the number back. They said "if this is the person we're trying to reach please press 1". I pressed 1 and they said "u can reach us at"... Then rattled off my cell phone number.

Try calling 815-626-9300, you will get a human, the company is Verifacts and they are a coolection agency

I keep receiving calls from this number and I keep telling the machine that it is a wrong number and it keeps call up to 5 times a day including Sundays.

I think this company should try and call by using a human instead of an automated machine because they keep calling for my husbands ex-wife who he divorced 25 years ago......she has never even lived in this state.  what a waste of time on everyone's part.  I hope they call us tomorrow after we got the other number, thank you for finally putting your number there.

I got a computer call at 8:30AM today from this number asking for my son's ex-girlfriend.  I was stunned, and pushed the number that claimed I was her, and was then asked to give the last 4 digits of my social security number.  I just waited it out and eventually was given a request to have the ex call the 877 number.  When I called that number, I was told to leave her a message at MY number.  I don't know why they would call us or how they got our number, but my son thinks it is because we own the house he lives in.  I hope having this other way to contact this agency will get them to stop.

This is a follow up to the complaint about the call for my son's ex girlfriend.  I called the number and was assured that they will put us on their do not call list.  I told them that we were already on the do not call list.  The woman also claimed there was a third option to choose that would have asked them not to call on the computer call.  There wasn't of course; and she knew it.  I will look up an address for the company and write a letter stating my refusal to allow them to use my phone to conduct their business.

Received call from this number asking to speak with my ex-husband.  We've been divorced and lived in different states for 20 years!

Collection agency trying to find my nephew.  I guess I was used by him as a reference.  Their automated system has an option 'if you've been contacted by mistake' (or similar) but pressing that didn't help (I have no idea where he is).  Reporting this to FCC.

Whover is calling is from Great Lakes, a student loan company.  If you do not have a student loan through Greak Lakes, then someone put you down as a reference.  You do need the last four numbers of the social security number to get through.  It is not a scam.

I have received four calls from this number asking for my niece (who has her own phone).  I called my niece who inturn called the number.  The automated voice asked for the last four digits of her SSN.  She did not give it but hung up.  It has to be some kind of scam.  I blocked it out on my phone.

was out of country, at a great cost to me, receive a call from this number...877 506 8170 re: my daughter. when i called them, to identify my daughter I needed the last four of her social cecurity number............not given out, so i went in as a guest and ....in fact the number I was to call to reach her, was my own.

I'm getting four calls in a row several times a week looking for someone I don't know.

Keep getting calls for my son's ex girlfriend, did some digging and this number belongs to Verifacts  call them at 815-626-9300 to talk to a human.

Two calls in the last 90 minutes. I don't answer toll free calls. No message left.

4 calls per day from this number.  None get answered.  Don't leave a message.
