I just got a call from Central Rewards as well on my cell and since I was at work at the time I decided to take a small break and play with the caller. The agent was an Indian accented person. He told me that I won a $100 gift certificate. Before he could move onto the next line in his script I asked him for his name (first and last) the company he worked for (Central Rewards) where he is based from (Phoenix,AZ) his agent/employee ID (78129) what are their marketing partners (Wal-Mart, KMart, etc). As he struggled with me to get to my info I proceeded to ask him why I was being called after it was requested that my number should had been placed on their Do Not Call list. (it actually wasn't however I wanted to see what his reaction was and see what his next action was going to be. (either continue to pursue getting my info or just simply apologizing for the inconvenience and hang up) I informed him that the BBB was going to call him for questioning on why my number was being called and that I needed to get his phone number. Either a cell, home or business number. James was getting aggravated with me but I pursued on with convincing him to give me a number where a federal agent can contact him for his business. I was persistant on interupting him and then soon enough James hung up.

The amazing aspect of all this is that there are people out there who own and run these businesses and have the cash or capitol to continue to run these businesses in which they still believe that there are people out there that would fall for this stuff. I have one suggestion for them (Central Rewards) do something good with your time and money and donate to a good cause!

my son who is 17 got a text from this company and called them. He was uncertain if it was a scam. He asked them to talk to me,his mother. I couldnt understand half of what he was saying and when i told him it sounded like a scam  He gave some reason why their company was not. Again i couldnt understand him. I did understand that he wanted my credit card expiration date, id on back of card and the name on the card. He told me he wouldnt need the actual credit card number. Scary, does he have it already. i keeped telling him i couldnt understand him and he got frustrated and asked to talk to my son ,by name. i told my son theres no way im giving my info to this guy. We hung the phone up and he has not called back.

I have been getting calls from these people NON STOP!!!  He told me he was from Central rewards in Phx, AZ.  I guess I won a 500.00 gift card and I would just have to pay them 4.95 to get the certificate.  I asked over and over again to remove my name for his list and he said HE CAN NOT DO THAT.  Either I take the card or they will call me over and over again!!!!  This is pissing me off, and I hope they get caught!

I kept getting calls this morning as I was in bed ill. When I finally got up I answered and was told that I won a $500 gift certificate for walmart. I immediately told the woman I was not interested to take me off of her list. She insisted that this was a gift and she just needed 10 numbers on my card so that when I received my gift they would charge me 4.95. I again told he no and asked more questions, she said she could not tell me more until I gave her some info. When I told her no, she transferred me to someone else(she had a thick accent and I could barely understand her).

Chris Thompson informed me at this time that I had "agreed" to this conditions and that I could not cancel. I never agreed to anything. Out of ignorance I did give her the numbers on my card. He kept me on the phone for 45 mins arguing with me about how I was already in this so I can hang up and be charged or just give them the rest of my info. Doesnt make any sense. I am very annoyed and concerned that I need to cancel credit card even though it is not in my name and they dont have the billing address.

Ummm...I actually gave the guy my card number on August 23.  This was with the promise of $50 in Walmart cards in the next 7-10 business day.  My family is hurting financially and I was thinking perhaps it could be a real deal.  Well, now it's been over a month and there are no Walmart gift cards.  Any suggestions?  They gave me a number to call if I had any problems but no one answers it - just a recorded message.

I called what I thought was a Sony computer customer service telephone number (1-888 450-nypc 6972 )
on sat 09/03/03. After pressing 1 on my phone for customer service, a foriegn man answered and said
customer service was very busy and this call was transfered to this promotional department. He said his name was Neil Anderson and he wanted to give me a $ 200.00 gas card for free. All I needed to do was to pay a  $2.95 activaton fee with a credit card. I told him that I would not give any credit card numbers over the phone and he hung up.  What a surprise.
I callled the same number on sun 09/04/11 and a recored message came on and gives a different 800 number to call with nothing to do with Sony customer service. If you call back, you will get a different number and message.
I found this number in my Sony Vaio computer that was purchased in 2004.

I tried to call discover but apparently mis-dialed. An Indian speaking man said that they were experiencing difficulties and my call was forwarded to them & that they were a promotional company. Due to my inconvenience the first 30 callers are receiving a $200 gift card. After much "debate" he told me that the company name was CENTRAL REWARDS! For $2.95 he would send to me but he needed my credit card info. I said just put it on my discover. He said he could not do.  I hung up on him &he called me back!  In the meantime I acted like I was getting my card while I pulled it up online. I told him NO, and he got very angry with me. I told him nothing is for free and that this was a scam! Thank the Lord for internet! He almost had me because I had initiated the phone call.  Beware even when you make the call. A lot of times they are one digit off a major credit card number hoping you will mis-dial.

I just received a call from "Central Rewards" from Phoenix AZ  but their number was 314-627-6989 (Cell phone from St Louis MO), she stated I won a $50 gift certificate from Wal-Mart. She said her name was Jenny Wilson at ext. #92489. Now, we all know that when we call any service like phone company, electric company, etc, they never give you their last name. She said it wouldn't cost anything that I had earned thousands of point by using my visa. She had all my personal information, name, address, telephone number then she asked me the expiration date on my visa, I replied, you mean to tell me that you have my visa number, she said no, just the first number and the last number. So I refused to give her the expiration date on my visa but she insisted, then I told her to give me a call back number and I would call her back once it was approved by my bank. Then I lost connection. SCAM

If you get a call from Central Rewards, please hang-up.  The offer you a $200.00 gas card and $25.00 Wal Mart card.  Then they say that it is based on a drawing from a recent purchase from Wal Mart, Best Buy or Target.  The key is that they then start asking you questions that they should already have (name, address, etc.).  I then placed the representive on hold and on another phone, I checked the phone number they gave me to Central Rewards to verify their existence and it did not work (went to directory assistance).  I mentioned this to the representative and she said it "was not possible".

In any event, it felt like a scam and was.  The old saying, "if it sounds to good to be true, it probably is" was certainly true in this case.

Don't let the lure of $200 ruin your financial situation by having them ruin our credit or steal from your bank account.

Just hang-up the phone my friends!

I received a text message from 209-242-4347 telling me "Thanks for visiting our site. ZCollect your $50 Walmart GiftCard today! ZGive us a call at 877-545-7561 !!ZTo end, reply STOP" I have been on the Walmart website in the last 2 days and even made a purchase that required me giving them my phone number so I thought nothing of it when I returned the call and gave them my name and address to get my Walmart GiftCard mailed to me. Then the person I was speaking to told me he was selling my information and thanks. I told him I didn't want it sold. I asked him the name of his company and for a manager. He then offered to see me some cocaine and said that is what his business is. I told him I was calling the authorities and he begged me not to. I hung up and called the authorities and my phone carrier fraud department to make sure that no charges are put on my account without my authorization.

ANOTHER call from this same company, this time they used a local # of 623-327-3502 and a name Nancy Bolz came up.  After they hung up on me for not verify anything, I tried to call it back and it was disconnected, surprise surprise.
I have cancelled my debit card and had to get another, just in case.
I re-registered all my phone #'s on the DO NOT CALL registry, and reported them to another few agencies.
I have reported them so far to the Better Business Bureau, the FBI's fraud complaint website, Arizona State Attorney General and my local phone company - Qwest.  Of course Qwest can't do anything about the millions of numbers they are using, they can't track them all, and I cannot block them because every time they call it's from a different number.

I also reported them to 3 On Your Side, a local news station that investigates things for people, but not sure if they will do anything about it.

Central Rewards has actually ARGUED with me that whether I give permission or not they are gong to charge my card even if I tell them not to.  I tell them that's illegal and they don't care.
DO NOT VERIFY ANY INFORMATION WITH THIS AGENCY.

I next plan on giving them the address of 1600 Pennsylvania Ave  Washington D.C. 20500 to see if they'll try that!  LOL

They called this morning at 7:14am and woke me up.
My next call will be my lawyers office.

I've been getting calls almost every day for the last 2 weeks asking me to verify my mailing address, that they had my debit card # (and they DID! He verified it!).
like all the others, it was "Leroy" from Eastern India telling me he was in Phoenix AZ.
When he said he had the wrong mailing address I asked him to verify what he had, he wouldn't.  I asked him for a customer servicer phone #, he wouldn't give me one.  He said they were going to charge my card $90 (NINETY DOLLARS?!) today, I told him he didn't have permission and he told me they were going to ANYWAY!   He said they had already sent the recording with me giving them permission to charge my card to my bank!

I told him that by not giving me a customer servicer phone # to call back, he was already breaking the law, and that by me telling him YOU DO NOT HAVE PERMISSION TO CHARGE MY CARD, he legally could not, and he STILL persisted on telling me he was going to anyway!  HA HA HA HA HA

I told him he was a scam and he told me "How dare you call me a scam!"   I started laughing so hard I couldn't speak, he hung up.

I called my bank, they do NOT accept recordings as "authorization" to charge my card, and she suggested I change my card # IMMEDIATELY.  I did.

Now, the next time "Leroy" or "Walter" calls me, I'll just let them go on and on, and waste their time like they've wasted mine.
