SMS message says my card has been deactivated.

I got the same thing: purporting to be from "1234", reading
FNB Alert: Your
CARD starting with
423326 has been
DEACTIVATED. Please
contact us at
877-574-0234 to
REACTIVATE your
CARD.
I have no such card and never have had. Is "FNB" supposed to stand for First National Bank?

Got the same text that my National Bank of AZ was deactivated and to call them...yea right! Can't believe they can get away with this crap!

I received a phishing text message: Mutual of Omaha Bank (FNB) Alert: Your CARD has been DEACTIVATED. Please contact us at 877-574-0234 to REACTIVATE your CARD. This is DEFINITELY a scam. I received a similar one last week with a different bank listed where I do not have an account.
My bank's security department is working on this issue.

I got the same text and it had 1st National Bank of Arizona spelled out. I did a search and found an article on AZ central where this bank was closed down about a year ago and taken over by Mutual of Omaha. Here is some info on this 800notes website about one of the 16 phone scams. It seems very familiar:
"Fake Bank Alert Messages: A fake message from a local bank says that your card is being suspended and that you need to call this toll free number to activate it. Of course, the toll free number does not belong to the bank and when you call they ask to verify your account information, which includes your name, date of birth, SSN, address, credit card number, etc. Once they have your personal information, they can use it to commit identity theft charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name."
This number should be reported to higher authorities, I think. ID theft in the making.

Same thing: "from" line reads only "1234". I'm curious what happens if I call it (not curious enough to try). Is FNB supposed to stand for "First National Bank"?

I got it too but I'm not calling it back in case it's a scam.
