does anyone know who this is?

They're a collection company called Imperial Recovery... they also do business under another name and are based in Denver, CO & somewhere in Kansas. They have an F rating under the BBB and have multiple complaints against them with the FTC and have been fined by the FTC but haven't responded to the complaints or the fines. They are a HORRIBLE debt collecting agency and do all kinds of things illegally to try to collect a debt including harrassment and threats.

Had the call this morning, same message " someone i know" and that they had to check on address information but could not discuss it on voice mail.   I don't answer unknown numbers before checking.  Thanks for information.

Keeps calling looking for someone who doesn't live here! Called them back and told them to quit calling,only time will tell.

Got a call from the number above today. Claimed to be "Imperial Debt something rather" I called back using a blocked number phone. Told them to take me off their call list.  They told me that i owed money to a bank - which is not true.  Then they asked if my name was "William A Smith" which is almost true but not.  They followed up with a random 4 digit SS which was not mine either.  Then when i told them the information is not true and to remove me immediately they hung up.  A SCAM, A FRAUD, A CRIME IN THE MAKING.  Do not answer!

Same message, claiming they need to verify some inconsistent facts about someone I know.

Got a call from this number this morning. Sounds like the same actor from several other calls from several other toll-free numbers. Script is very similar. It's obviously a robo-call -- they all are whether I answer or not. "Need to clear up some information" on someone I know or some such.

As always, they don't state who they are or who they want (it's "proprietary," doncha know). Won't be returning this call. Do to the script and style, I assume they are Regent Asset Management. I've got no outstanding debts. Whether "someone I know" does or not, I don't care. Won't be calling them back.

But a new twist this time: "Mark MacAlister" has a fake Scottish accent! I can't wait for the next one. I'm saving these whenever I remember, maybe I can make a mix.

I have been getting these calls several times a day everyday of the week.  If they know someone I know then they don't need to ask me for any more information.

This number calls a few mornings per week. If I answer, they often hang up. They also immediately start asking for personal information before stating who they are & where they are calling from.

I no longer answer this number. They always leave a message saying they "have a file" regarding me or "someone i know" and it is urgent that I return their call to "straighten out the facts." They repeatedly say they cannot state what the call is about and they never mention what business they are associated with.

Banks, tax folks, colleges, and hospitals all state the nature of the call- "This is University Hospital" "This is ___ with PNC Bank" etc. This is likely a scam.

A recording states to call this number to fill them in on incomplete information on something or someone  they have on file. It almost sounds legit but not so much. They keep calling & even leave a mssg. that most phone scanners won't do.
