Red Flags would be they are going to want to have you pay ala green dot card or similar untraceable type card..

I have gotten a call every day for the past 5 days all claiming that a debit transaction did not go through they have left no company info, who they are what they are the messages are all threatening and rude, even if I did owe a debt to them it is not going to get paid like this, now days there are so many scams out there how do you know they are legitimate, I am sure they would love for me to pay by credit or debit card over the phone! oh and by the way checked with the bank have not had a single failed or denied debit transaction for the last 60 days hmmmmm

I got a phone call, and then a Letter today from P.N. Financial in Stokie, IL  60076.  Erika Benton told me that I owed U.S. Bank $1,543.27 but will settle for $926.96 if I pay by October 11, 2013.  I told her I did not have an account with U.S. Bank.  She told me they must have bought an old debt of mine.  I asked her who the original creditor was, and she said"  You should be telling me, you can not even keep up with your own debts!  I asked her to send me proof of the debt.  She said she could not!  Violates FDCPA!  THIS COMPANY IS A CON ARTIST PRAYING ON DISABLED VICTIMS!  SHE SAID JUST WAIT UNTIL YOU GET YOUR CREDIT REPORT!  THEY ARE ON RIPOFF REPORTS ALL OVER THE INTERNET!  I WILL NOT PAY SOMETHING I DO NOT OWE!  ESPECIALLY WHEN THEY SAY IT WAS FOR A PRODUCT OR PURCHASE OF SERVICES FROM MANY YEARS AGO, BUT CAN NOT TELL ME WHO OR WHAT!

Just got call on aunts phone for my daughter which nobody knows it and they threaten my daughter. I'm calling lawyer tomorrow. This is bull. Couldn't even tell me how they got it.

Called from 847-425-5013, message was rude AND for the previous owner of my cell phone #, & they even used his name in the message, which I think is illegal. Said to call this # back  877-588-9108, and was in my best interest to do so. Left her name also, Erica Benton. I record ALL these messages to my computer, as you should too. I use a free program called Audacity to put messages on my computer.  Have gotten 100's of calls for the previous owner of my #. You would think these idiots would realize the people that owe debt HAVE CHANGED their phone #'s. Pretty obvious they don't care. Guess they want to harass someone..

We received a rude and threatening call from them also with no info about them just phone# to call.  When we called them back they didn't even know what had been said, they were asking me what was said.  When we mentioned to them that we would report them if we got this type of call again they hung up the phone on me.  They said they work for a company called PN out of IL.  Yet could not tell me what PN stands for or even means.

Some things never change...called my Mom at her home and asked for me using my maiden name (I got married TWELVE years ago and I never use my maiden name!).  I need to make this stop!  How do I get them to go away, I know this is a scam

My 80+ parents keep getting calls from this company tellinmg then I will be going to jail. I called them today and told them to stop or my corporation's lawyer would be suing them for my time and trouble dealing with them. He stated my parents have a case also.

When they found out I bill myself out at $150.00 per hour and I have logged in writting about 14 hours dealing with them. (Only what I have physically recorded.) And that is more than what they are going after. Hopefully it will shut them up.

Received a call from a restricted # today and she didn't want to give her name, just that she was calling from an attorney's office concerning a debt that I owed.  Would not give me an account # and told me that I had 24 hrs or they would call my employer and demand my income information (I told her that she did not have permission to call me at work).  She would not send me anything in writing like I asked.  She told me that I would be served by the sheriff's office and taken to court.  She would not give me an account number, only would tell me the name of the bank.  Told me she was from the lawyer's office of Tom Mason in Skokie, IL.  She said she was not a debt collector.
I told her under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act that she must send me information in writing (and I tried to give her my address - but she would not take it).
After she was done violating all of my rights under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, she then said that I had better call or all the above things would happen and then she hung up on me.
I checked my records when I got home and I paid off this debt back in 2006.

I received a verizion Downtown  no ID call yesterday at work. Twice when I answered the caller hung up. The third time they called I was not at my desk. I was left a threatening message that if I or my lawyer didn't call them back at the Office of Ray Buchannon  they would contact my payroll for wage confirmation. Caller did not identify herself. Didnot say who the original Creditor was suppose to be. She made sure she let me know that there was a case against my social security number. If your company is on the up and up why are you so secretive. Why restrict all the information I need. I smell a rat.

Called me last night.

I got a call today from someone named Erica,looking for my daughter.Said it was regarding a charge of theft-by-deception and gave me a case #.The  call purportedly was from the office of Tom Mason. I called back the number and the same woman answered and said they were located in Chicago.Seems strange that a lawyer has a toll free number but aside from that it's all nonsense.My daughter has never received any written word from them as this Erica said.I want to report them but to whom?

I received a withheld phone call from a lady (who didn't leave her name) saying that my attorney or I need to contact their office (what office she didn't say) TODAY about a law suit placed against me. Does anyone even know if they really DO represent a collection agency/attorney?

I received a message from this number today. She muffled out her name, then later in the message I could tell she was saying Tom Mason. She said she had time sensitive materiel and if I didn't call back today, futher action would be taken against me and my social security number. I called back from a number that wouldn't show on their caller id. The same woman who left a message on my phone is the one who answered this call. I asked who or what this was, she (very rudely) said it was Tom mason's office, who was this? I asked what they did there. She again (very rudely) asked who I was and what it was regarding? I said If she wasn't going to tell me who she was, I wasn't going to tell her who I was. By this time she was all but yelling, then have a nice day, ma'am and hung up on me.

Thank you I also received a rude call from them that left very little info on them but to much info on me. They did not even no if they had the rite person or not and left info anyway the thing they did leave out who they where and for whom they were calling for

I just recieved the same call and they were rude and left a terrible voicemail.

The number belongs to attorney tom mason according to the voicemail and the person I spoke with on the phone. I called them back and they notified me that I owed a debt for an old credit card. I told them I would pay the card company directly and she insisted that I have to pay their legal office because they owned the debt. I notified them (legally) that the debt to the attorneys office is not valid as I did not sign up with their service. She cussed me out and threatened me. I reported them to the FTC and am starting procedures for a lawsuit as I type this. Also, when they left the voicemail, they left personal information on there without identifying the number as mine which is illegal. I have voicemail evidence against them. Keep your voicemails people!
