This is "for real" ---- National Enterprise Systems --- a vendor that collects past due student loans.  Usually, they have your phone number because it is either you who defaulted OR somebody was kind enough to use your name & number on a reference when they made the application for the loan (in which they are now in default).

I called it back and it was answered electronically but, within about a minute, it went to a live person who was very polite, apologized, and said that their "dialer" resets at midnight and that my number would be removed.

So - at this point - I have no problem with this company.  I'd just like to get all the political calls to STOP!

I got an automated call from these guys and they gave me this number to call if they were trying to reach the wrong person and get my number off their list.  When I called and gave them my number, they said my number was not in their system, that it must have been a wrong number.  Liars.  They have automatic dialers.  Why would they make up such nonsense?

they do not tell you exactly what they want...leaves the name of the company on your answering machine.. just have to delete it!
