Someone from this number called me and left a message for a Gina Moreno.  To have her call back immediately, etc etc.   No Gina Moreno exists at my place.  I called back to let them know but, a man answered in a wanna be Shaft voice and said "Corporate office."  When I asked "Corporate office for what?"  He started talking fast asking for a case number.   When I asked again, he said "BlackStone."  I asked what Blackstone does.  He hung up.

I think everyone should call this number and ask what BlackStone does.

I also received a call from an officer, who refused to identify himself,  would serve me with papers from a company called Blackstone for a reason they wouldn't give.  They told me to call 877-609-8635 and gave me a reference number to use.   So I said,"let me understand this..a company whom I never heard of, haven't spoken to and don't know why they're 'after me' spent hundreds of dollars filing a civil case against me and THEN wants me to call them to talk?"  He said that's right.  Doesn't make any sense whatsoever.  I knew it was a scam.  So I called them and asked them what kind of company they are.    a guy wouldn't tell me without giving him a reference number.  He also gave their address as 1950 Sterling, Ontario, CA.  which is a warehouse owned by Fiesta Distribution.  These people are truly scum.  Love to see someone serve papers on them!  Then I called a second time and got the receptionist.  I said what does your company do.  She said we serve papers.  Huh?  Wasn't that the first company that told me to call this one?  She gave me a different address which was 2889 Archibald, Ontario...that doesn't seem to be a valid address.

Jerry is a shill for these criminal scum. Everytime you find a discussion on their ILLEGAL debt collection practices, you get corporate shills arguing you should 'just pay the debt" - even though, as many here noted, more often than not there is NO legitimate debt.

"Jerry" you are just as guilty - and just as liable for the $1,000 plus attorney fees people are entitled to for EACH INSTANCE of such violations of the FCRA.

You get a call from these bottom feeders, call one of the many lawyers who will take them on for a contingency fee - nothing out of your pocket.

this number 877 609 8633 left a message at my work saying that they're from the plaintiff's office and they'll be serving me and left a CA case #... I don't remember any legal action against me and that if anything (if legit), I am a homewoner I should be contacted in my residence  in the first place. Sounds like a scam and after ready dozens of review regarding this BLACKSTONE COMPANY...Please beware.. this is another smart scam out there!!!

This company is harassing us! We have had this phone number for five months and they are calling for the previous owner. They tell me the police are coming to serve us; they are lying! I tell them to go for it because this address is not tied to the phone number! I have become furious with the company they will not tell me where they are located or believe we are not the people they are trying to collect from!

My husband received a call from this Blackstone company on his business cell phone and they said they were looking for his daughter (my stepdaughter who is 21) and was told she lived with us. The number they gave him to have her call back on was 800-900-1326. She had her ID stolen a few months ago out of her car and I want to know if she should just go to the police with this Blackstone companies information and have them check it out. They told my husband that they were trying to serve his daughter and needed an address were a police officer could find her. She is scared. Any sugeestions?

Got a voice mail from them as well asking for someone who doesn't live here (never did).  Called them back, gave them the case #.  They had another name listed and explained they were trying to serve papers.  I simply explained I had no idea who the person was and I've been at the current address and phone for over 4 years.  He never asked for my name or info other that they didn't already have.  He apologized and said he'd note the file.  This was last month.  Haven't heard from them again.

Got a voice mail from them yesterday.  Said and "officer" would come out to serve me papers and wanted to verify my address.  Left an 877 # and a case #.  They asked for someone I've never heard of.  Decided to call back this AM.  Person was polite and when asked who he was, he told me Blackstone.  He also told me they serve legal notices (court appearance orders and such).  He was quite upfront about it.  I explained to him the name they asked for is someone unknown to me.  I gave him the case # and he couldn't find anything.  He cross referenced my phone # (since he already had this, no harm) and still couldn't find anything.  I explained I've been here, and had this phone # for several years and have no idea who the person is or lives.  He apologized and said he would put my number on his "do not call list".  He never asked for my name, address or other personally identifiable info.

So we'll see over the next few days what happens.

They called some estranged family members yesterday and left me a voice message. today i picked up when they called. Initially, it was a "dispatcher" who wanted to verify my address. I asked what it was for. he said he didnt know but to just call the 877 number.

I called and gave them the "case number". i get transferred to a guy who answered "administrator". he gives me the whole story of how i am going to be served tomorrow. asked me for ssn and i said i dont give that out. after a few mins of talking he said that he would contact the attorney who is handling my case. put me on hold so i hung up.

called me back a minute later, said he couldn't get a hold of the attorney but spoke to the paralegal and that he might be able to help me stop the action against me. i asked for the attorney's info, he refused. so i told him that i will speak with my attorney before we go any further. he gave me his name and direct line.

DON'T GIVE OUT PERSONAL INFORMATION. thats all i have to say. this is a new level of obnoxious "scare" tactics.

I am ashamed to say this but I am all to familiar with this whole process, heck, this is why i am even on this web-site, I got a call last night and someone left this #, I wanted to check the number out to make sure no comments speak of fraud, which they don't. I am gonna call them and try and set up some type of arrangement... Only reason I say that is because the same thing happened to me a few months back and I didn't call and wound up really getting served,  went to court and loss, did you guys know that CA is not an Arbitration State? which means the court system could care less about your reason for not paying back a loan or credit card... Yes that is probably why they are calling us, because we all owe someone, it just seems like since this depression began, banks are ruthless in their attempt to collect a debt, now they are using lawyers to do there dirty work, got to love it!

P.S.
My only advice is to continue to run #'s through this web portal to see if there is anyone or everyone saying that this company has comitted fraud or something, not to indulge in gossip and guessing...

I have made all the mistakes that I"ve just read about.  I returned their calls(due to their threat to have the police come and serve me),I gave them the last 4 digits of my social, I confirmed my address, the debt and gave them my cell #.  I did all of this because it's a debt I know about.  I need some advice on  what I can or should about these mistakes I made( by giving them all that nfo)Please don't remind me that I should not have given all that info to the...I am already beating myself up about it and am only asking for any advice on what I can do Now.  Thanks for any help.

Blackstone contacted our neighbor across the street(they couldn't call our home # as we no longer have one and only use our cell phones, which they obviosly didn't have the # to) they left a message on their machine and they frantically came over to tell us to call this #877-609-8635.  The message was pretty menacing, saying if they knew their neighbore(us), to relay this message," that if we did not call them they would proceed to serve papers at our residence", and if they didn't know us. then to just disregard the message.  They called our neighbor!!!!!,don't know how they were able to get all their info and we barely know these neighbors and they got a phonecall like that, about us. We called Blackstone and they told us that a police officer would be serving us the next day unless we could make a payment. Admittedly,we do have a debt in collections due to unfortunate circumstance, so we began to make arrangements with them. Everytime we called them back, the phone # was now a local area code(909), and we would always get confusion as to who we talked to before, what arrangements had been set forth, who was actually a supervisor, seriously each time we called, new people worked there now, Oh, he was fired because he wasn't authorized to make those arrangements...then the thing that confirmed this was not quite right was that they agreed to settle the debt with a one time payment that was about 5% of what was owed.  Too good to be true, so we cut off all contact with them.

Hello, I have also been getting these calls.  The called quite a few times also callinging the other cell phone I have on my account. Which was to my husband but the cell phones are in my name.  I have Sprint if this helps. They started with a CA case number. They are always very vage and say things like we have your paperwork down at county. A few days ago they called again with the same CA case number and the 877-622-3290  number they also use the 877-609-8635 number  Stating they need me to call back or they will searve me at my place of work and or home. Today I got a call from a  Man saying he was Officer Bill Santos from the Mesa AZ County prossecing serving divition and then gave me a AZ case number. He told me offecirs were looking for me to try and serve me (sorry for my spelling)  Two things There is Mesa and Maricopa county but not Mesa County. So I called both and they looked me up in the whole state and there is nothing for me. They said this is a SCAM and DO NOT CALL BACK. They also check to see if this man worked for the AZ Police. SO Its a scam and don't call them back. The Officer on the phone said the police dept will not call before they serve someone.  Hope this help someone because this site really helped me to be on alert. The main thing that red flagged me is the other line number they said I put that down as a ref and we just got that number a few months ago. I have not gotten finance or anything for years now.

These people are also using the numbers 877-622-3290, 866-234-0587, and 866-350-8355. Apparently, it's "Intelenet Global Services", which is owned by the "Blackstone Group", a legit NY financial services company (contact info above). There's a rumor that Blackstone might be selling, it though (http://www.moneycontrol.com/news/cnbc-tv18-co ... ake_449545.html). Probably this stuff is the reason why.

I got a message onmy phone, and then called them back wothout giving my information. They said they are blackstone group, and that are dealing with pending civil suits. So since I'm not suing, then soomeone is suing me? but they have the wrong address and not my full name. what should I do? Don't owe anything, and I don't understand who would be suing me.

Excuse me Sean, and others...thank you for the address and the contact information. But let's slow down a moment and see this. These calls, these tactics, these illegal methods by ruthless criminals DO NOT make a business from a Park Avenue suite in NYC. And if for some chance they do have a black-ops group of phone bandits, they ain't about to be swayed by angry letters from the people they are trying to swindle.

A+ for effort, and even for thought. But the better move is to call the authorities...a lawyer, the FBI, the banks they claim to represent...

My first thought was that Sean was a plant from Blackstone to funnel the heat away from them. But then again, Sean has an excellent point. We should contact the ones that can do the work of shutting these gangsters down.

A very similar thing happened to me today. The person they were looking for was a person with my same name, however from California. I am writing a letter of complaint tomorrow and sending it to the company Blackstone Group, which is who they said they were.

345 Park Avenue
New York, NY 10154
Phone: 212-583-5000
Email: business.continuity@blackstone.com

This is their address, I advise everyone else to write a letter of complaint, because what they did was unacceptable.

They left a message at my home. When I called back to get details, they asked for the last 4 digits of my social.  I said I don't give out that info and asked what they had.  It was not mine.  Then they asked for my address, I again asked what they had - Mr. Roberts gave an address in Martinez, which is not where I live.  They stated they were a legal company and looking to serve this person.

Be careful - never give out any personal information.

I had a similar experience to an earlier post. My ex-wife received a call that she described as similar to the phony lines here (she's never seen this site). They claimed I was about to be served, wondered if she knew where I was. She had the expected reaction, and believed this whole deal. And she let me know about it. Later, I had a call from my father. Same deal. Same reaction.

I was skeptical to begin with, but I had no idea there was a trail of posts with similar stories. As soon as I found these posts I knew this was nothing legit.

Someone called for one of my employees claiming they wanted to know "where he wanted to be served papers to avoid embarrassment at work"... My staff member had no knowledge of a debt from 2002 and had never been contacted by mail or phone previously.  They had his name slightly wrong but a correct home address. They were offering to "help" delay the process serving if he would immediately wire transfer or provide a credit card over the phone for a "reduced amount".  I spoke to them as well and got an email address. Then I spoke to my attorney who advised that no one can collect on a debt over 4 years old (from the date of the last payment) - especially since there had been "no prior contact".. Also he said to ask them for "underlying documents" which I did by email but have received nothing back. When my staff member first called them back (in my presence) they said they were a furniture store. Ultimately they told me they were a collection agency.  I called the bank that they said was the debt-holder and they had no open file on this person. This appears to be a bizarre way to frighten people (via threats of court, police, etc) to send money! Beware!
