These morons call me 6 or 7 times a day on my cell phone ,every day. sometimes they call from 877-629-8821, sometimes from 877-629-8832. i am 68 years old, do not have ANY loans and have NEVER had a student loan.
I added my number to the national do not call register two weeks ago but so far it hasn't worked.

This is Citibank student loans. They told me they are prohibited from leaving a message more than once every 6 calls and only twice every 12 days. I said if it was that important to call 6 times in one 4 hour period, they should leave a message the first time they called. My bill was 3 days late because I read the statement wrong. The pay by date that was in huge print was the penalty date and the teeny date stating minimum payment was the actual date. Sleep deprivation sucks, but so does Citibank.

They call everyday, up to 5 times a day even early mornings and since it is an 877 number, I didn't pick up. They don't leave messages so why would I wAste my time with them. But please beware if you have limited minutes n your phone as they are charged to you each time you pick up.... And all you hear is nada!

received 4 calls from this # today. it's not a known # so i didn't answer. they left no messages. I called back after the 4th and it goes to Citibank Student Assist, before I gave any info i asked why they'd been calling repeatedly and not leaving messages. the woman said the only thing should could think was that my school hadn't send in the info stating i'm a student and thus they are looking at me as being in the repayment period. so... i'll be contacting my school now. but at least this doesn't' sound like a scam... just stupidity.

So I got a call from them at 8:00am pacific time and they actually left me a voicemail. I couldn't understand the woman all that clearly but she was calling "in regards to citi assist private loan" which I don't even have. And the call back number was different than the number they called, it was 877-611-0012
But I am still super skeptical. Citi has never reached me over the phone to ask me if I wanted a loan.

Many calls from this number. Then was to verify info. Very suspicious to me.

Its Citibank, you can verify information over the phone before you give them any of your private information.

Claiming to be CitiBank Student Loans...this is not the usual number that calls when its actually CitiBank...plus I just made my loan payment and its not time for the next...
The first person that left a message sounded like this woman who left a message on my phone before claiming to be another bill collector for some civil matter...
I truly believe its scammers...
| annoyed 2011-11-08 19:05:12 Unknown |
They have been calling me about once a week for a few weeks now. I never answer the phone and they never leave a voice message.
| April 2011-11-05 17:52:06 Unknown |
Scammers. Do not verify information, do not give in to them on any of their threats. Do not give them any money. they run multiple
scams including
Claiming to be law firms
Claiming to be debt collectors
Claiming to be a loan lender
Claiming you are receiving a grant
Claiming they are Tech support and you have viruses on your computer
Claiming you are being sued for fraudulent activities and that they are government officials or police.
and many others..
They will have multiple numbers due to SPOOFING their numbers. Some of the numbers might even be the victims numbers they are
stealing. They use india cell phones linked to United States numbers, magic jack, skype, google talk, etc.. to look like they are
in the United States. Even though they got our information sold to them and hacked from the United States, the callers themselves
are not part of the US. This is why they are hard to trace and our laws do not pertain to them.

Hung up on me. Maybe a test to see if someone answers.
