Fellow Mad As Hell Consumers:

Here's a thought: how about a massive turn-the-tables campaign on this scam outfit by everyone making annoying calls to their 1-800 number and giving these sleezebags a taste of their own medicine?  For the hell of it I just called 1-800-700-5880 and actually got a live human on the other end within two rings.  I'm not sure how much an incoming call to an 800 number costs a company, but every needless penny they spend cuts into their profit margin.  Next time I call I'm going to ask the individual at the other end if they think that, when they were born, their mother thought to herself: "I hope she/he grows up to one day be a telemarketer!  Cruel, but screw them!

I've received over ten calls from this company "Warranty Activation". They are always local numbers that when returned, leave a dead end. Every time I speak to an operator and ask them anything about the company, I'm immediately hung up on. Once, the operator actually made a static noise with his mouth before hanging up. Please help!

For the record, I, too, have been harassed by this recorded call about extending an auto warranty.  I am on the Do-Not-Call list and have no reason to be receiving it.  Are they making money somehow by people accidentally picking up and answering the phone or by calling their number from the message to call them at 877-700-5880?  Or is it being done by one of the reverse lookup sites that say the information is available but that you have to pay $10 or $15 to find out?  Intelius costs almost $10, and U.S. Search costs almost $15.  I have a record of all the calls they have made to me, which is quite a few.  Any suggestions from anyone on how to successfully stop them?

Call pretty much every day asking to call them to extend our vehicle warranty coverage.

They don't seem to know anything about is and it is always a recording.

I have heard of companies being able to get around the Do-Not-Call list by calling from a different country.  But, isn't the company that sponsored the call culpable as well?

Looks like I was wrong.  These are two different companies.  But they all use the same name or similar sounding names, and they're located all over the US.  There was one in TX that went bankrupt, one in MO, this one in FL, and the one I mentioned in NJ.  I'll bet there are more.

These people just settled a $120k lawsuit in NJ, and they are still calling people. I asked for their address so I could file suit, and the guy said "1-800-shove it up your a**" and hung up!  I was flabbergasted.  These guys need to be brought to justice.

I receive calls and messages from this number constantly and if you call them back to have them take you off the list they won't tell you their company name, although one guy said "Ralph Waldo Warranties." Very irritating -- any thing we can do?

I receives calls every day multiple times from these people.  I have told them no over and over again.  I got concerned and was wondering if maybe I voided my warranty on my new car somehow and called.  The agent answered and said "you want to renew your warranty" no company name por anything.  IO told him 'No I want to know what this is about, you call me like 15 times a day" Of course I exaggerated, but it is definitely at least 3 times a day.  He said I don't think it is 15 time, it is not even possible, and hung up on me.  I am irate at this point.,  I work in the telecommunications indutry and I am part of the ATA.  These are the people that give us a bad name.

I get calls from this number everyday. I ask them to take me off their calling list and was told they could not take me off  and that they would be calling me everyday. And they do! All week long and weekends too. They even know my husbnd's name and the make of car we have. We have never had an extended warranty on our car. We have reported them to the Attorney General Roy Cooper in Raleigh, NC today. He has not had time to respond.
