Received a call from "Eric" this morning saying he was from Consumer Debt Relief and said they were working with me to lower the interest rate on my 3 credit cards from 3 banks that I do not carry credit cards with. Then asked if I still needed assistance with that to call him back at 877-723-1419 ext. 1005. Then said even if I didn't need assistance to still call him back so he could remove me from their records. The caller ID was unknown. Have never spoken with them in my life. Sounds like a bad scam to me.

Same message as the other ones mentioned. Wonder if my number was sold by the car dealership I recently bought a car from? At any rate, it is OBVIOUSLY a scam. I won't be calling back.

i got the same message as all the other people listed above. Caller says name is Sarah / sara ....and how they got my cell is a wonder.......anyway.....blocked the caller, tired of scammers, tired of debt collectors for others , tired of answering my phone.....wish people would abide by FDCPA and the BBB, and the State Attorney Generals Office and the FTC and Credit Bureaus but in reality these protections of our rights are like our laws .......they only work IF PEOPLE ABIDE BY THEM! so if Sarah / Sara , you call again you will be reported to any and all bureaus.....psss there are some nice letters you can get from these bureau's to stop these harassing and annoying calls chect them out!

This seems like on my cell phone and a gal left a mesage about lowering interestrates on my credit cards (which I have nothing to pay) and how she did research and found lower rate of 1.5% and that payments would be cut in half. I have no idea who she is or what she is talking about.
Jennifer 2011-11-18 01:16:38 Unknown
Just had the same message come through on our answering machine. I concur, it is a scam. We have little to no balance on our credit cards that carries over month to month and we have never contacted anyone regarding reducing our debt.
L Van 2011-11-17 20:16:44 Unknown
I also got this call. The voicemail message she left was: "So I wanted to let you know that I did find a solution, we've got a program that can lower those interest rate to as low as 1.5% and possibly cut your monthly payment in half. And since you were only making the minimum payments that would be a great opportunity for you. This will be in the last courtesy call, so please gimme a ring today. You can reach me here at 188777231419 Again the number is 1(877) 723-1419." I've never spoken to her, my credit card balances are all zero, and this is a total scam.

Got the same message this morning, only my caller ID showed 406.224.9930, Livingston, MT. However, I was given the same 1-877-723-1419 call back number. I put the number in Google and found this thread. Good to know it's a scam. I couldn't even tell that the call was regarding credit cards, as the first part of the message was cut off.

Just received the same voicemail from Ms Sarah Ellis. Caller ID showed a 253-246-8013 # but was told to call 877-723-1419. No mention of a company name. When I called the 877 # got an automated please hold for the next available rep. I would say scam as well. I have worked in the telemarketing field I know for a fact that they must disclose A- the company name they are working for and B- the location from which the company is calling from. If they are not doing that they are in violations of federal regulations. I have reported this to the FTC and recommend others do so as well.

I received a voicemail on my cell phone, same thing as above. Half of the message was cut off so I couldn't even hear who was calling. Definetely a SCAM! I always go online and check any numbers I receive that are unfamiliary..none of them are ever legit.
Irritated! 2011-11-16 18:09:03 Unknown
This is the exact message that I just received. Nowhere in the message is a company stated! I'm sick of getting such phone calls. Thankfully, I never answer calls that I do not recognize and I absolutely to not return the calls with no valid information.

I got a similar message to the ones above in my voicemail. My favorite part was that the bot talked completely over my answering service, so only half the message recorded. I don't give out info. like this to anyone and certainly don't have out of control credit card debt. I concur: Scam.

report this company to the FTC. If you call the 877 number they claim ignorance of the robo calls to cell phones. Which is possible if this is being done without the knowledge of the person answering, but unlikely.
Call them through skype and Google and let them know that you know what they are doing is illegal. Waste their time and let them know that they can't lie and take advantage of people for a living.

I got a call from this number and it was debt consolidation line because I owed more than 1000 to the credit card companies. They stated they got my information directly from my credit card company but asked me who my card was through.
A week prior I got a letter from my credit card company stating that there was a potential fraud on my account and they were issuing me a new card.
After receiving this call and talking with robyn she asked me tons of questions and stated it would be part of GE and AAA cook county consoldation th wanted my card information. I immediately got hesitate and told her I would need to contact my card company prior to giving her that information.
After calling my credit card company they stated that they are not aware of any debt consolidation companies associated with them. They told me never to give out my cc info on the phone.
Be aware, this may be a potential hoax to obtain your personal information.
Caller ID: 2064960194
Caller Company: debt consolidation

I just got the same message stating that Sarah Ellis talked to me last week and they found a program that would lower my credit card interest and cut my monthly payment in half. I have never heard of Sarah Ellis until I checked my voice mail just now. The caller id showed 206-496-0194 but I was asked to call 877-723-1419. DO NOT CALL THIS NUMBER! I wonder if I can report them for some kind of 'no call list' violation or something.

I got the same message about lowering interest rates. The call originated from 406-426-3038 but gave this 877 number as the callback. I think we've gotten the same message on our answering machine. Shady for sure.

In my call log the phone number appeared as 14107098122, but when the number left a voicemail the number receipt was from this (877) number. The woman did not identify herself or the company but the voicemail promised to lower credit interest.

yes. i got same call from # 410-709-8122 but told me to call back at the 877-723-1419 #. I believe this is an attempt to collect on a credit card debt from 16 years ago. I think they lure you into calling them and telling them they have the wrong #. They probably try to verify your identity and then the fun really starts. I WILL NOT be calling back.

I received a call today (very similar to the ones above) on my cell phone which I have not given the number out except to a very few people. I don't have any charge cards and I feel if I receive another call, I'll contact the Federal Trade Commission.
I agree that it is a scam........!

Indicated that she was retrning my call from yesterday about lowering my fees. The number they called was my work phone, and I never called anyone about this. The call came in from 701-920-9091. I called back and confronted the rep who answered who quickly hung up on me.

Received call from 1-971-277-8004 something about lowering interest rate and then asking me to call 1-877-723-1419. Sounds like a telemarketer calling all numbers in order
