Clueless collection agency on the wrong track.

Witchdoctor...that is not true !  For over a one year period, We received relentless calls  from the National Rifle Association from early morning till late at night.  Each time I called them back and waited to be taken off their call list...it never worked !  We finally bought a Call Blocker and that solved the problem !  What bothers me about these Organizations is that, they get everyone upset with these phone calls and expect us to be polite and donate on-line???  The Post Office needs the work since,  many have chosen to do business on line...what is  wrong with the old ways of sending donation requests via the mail ?

Just got another call this AM from 1-877-473-1358, called them back and they answered as the NATIONAL   RIFLE ASSOCIATION ,GAVE THEM THE razzberry and hung up the phone.

whoever they are.. they keep calling on a daily basis several times a day without leaving any messages. Caller  ID says "Toll free".. soon I'm pulling the plug on my land line.. can't wait till all these call from "out of area" and "toll free" will stop!

I will suggest that if it is available, switch from your traditional landline to a VOIP (Voice Over IP) system. Mine is actually offered by my phone company! If you have heard of Vonage or your home phone is supplied by your Cable company, then that would be VOIP.

The system my provider uses gives me a "call manager". The best feature is that I can block specific numbers, or do things like make the caller from a number speak their name and then it lets me heard the name and decide to answer or send them to voicemail. The number can be something like "877*", which means every call from an 877 number gets this treatment!

These people are harassing me and my family. They claim that I have to call them and that I have to appear in court. They do not identify themselves. All they do is harass. I want the calls to stop.

This number calls several times a week and never leaves a message on my machine, and never answers when I pick up.  Very aggravating!

You are WRONG.   We know several members on the Board of the NRA and several Officers.  The National Rifle Assoc. does not treat people like this.  We are lifetime members.   They WILL talk to people and not act like this telemarketer is doing.    Anyone can take the recorded message from the National rifle Assoc and record it on their machine.  It's not complicated to do this.   If these people have the funds to keep all these 800 lines going, and Yes they do have to pay for the service it isn't free!  Then so be it.  They will eventually run out of money and hopefully the calls will cease once and for all.  But don't count on it.

Anyone can record the message from the National Rifle Assoc and put it on their machines.   The National Rifle Assoc does not treat people like crap.  They are a reputable association and would never harass people like this telemarketer is doing.   I'm just sayin.
I just ignore the calls and sometimes I just hang up on therm after the first ring.   If my machine picks up then I just delete the call too.  These people are not going to stop.   If they have the money to keep spending on these calls then I hope they go broke soon.   After all THEY are actually paying for all these 800 numbers to be in service.  We aren't.

They call every day between 8:00 am and 9:30 am.  Rings four times and then quits.  Answered and stayed on the line for about 15 seconds before any one said anything and it was the National Rifle Association of which I am a member and have supported them for many years.  I am getting sick of the daily calls and attempts to get it to stop have failed.  I think the secret to stopping the calls will require documenting all the numbers that call and respond to them individually.  My sense is their system of autodialers are stand alone telemarketing companies and they obviously don't share information.  I have noted that the few calls where I actually answered and asked to be removed from the system are no longer showing up.

Im a life member of NRA.... though the calls I am getting from this number are from an aggressive debt collection group. MY ex wife got her car repo'd, she's not paying. I get the effing collection calls.

Hi.  Yes they do.. Please don't get me wrong,  I have been a member of the NRA for 25 years and will continue to be one for the foreseeable future.  Just the same I renew in 3 year increments and the NRA DOES call me now and then to tell me the latest bills going through congress or whom is running for election and ask me to renew early or make an outright donation.  If you don't answer, they call back again and again.  They are a reputable organization fighting to protect our second amendment rights and I fully support them. If you ask them to stop calling they will.    But please -all- they aren't reading this board.  I like most do not answer calls that do not have anything more than 'toll free call' in the caller id and that's why I'm on this board - to see who called me. The NRA is not reading these messages.

This is a stupid debt collector. I answered and they said they are the national recovery associates.

Apparently someone is setting this number as their Caller ID and placing calls.  My company recently bought this number and I had it terminate against my phone for an IVR experiment.  I started getting calls from people claiming to see this number on their Caller ID.  That shouldn't be happening.  Anyway, if you call the number back it connects to a SIT tone.  I'm going to trade the number in for a cleaner number.  Still, whoever is spoofing their Caller ID with this number will continue to do so.

I have done some Internet searches on the "National Recovery Agency" and now suspect they may indeed be the ones calling me from the numbers I listed in an earlier post.  I called the numbers listed and got the identical recording claiming to be the National Rifle Association.

However, I found a web site from a law firm that sues debt collectors that listed a large number of phone numbers they claim the National Recovery Agency uses.  All 7 of the numbers I listed were in this list of alleged phone numbers used by the National Recovery Agency.

I sent an email to the National Rifle Association concerning these phone numbers.  If I get a response, I will update this again.  Right now, I am suspicious that these numbers are not used by the National Rifle Association but the National Recovery Agency.

If these phone numbers are used by the National Recovery Agency, then my apologies to the National Rifle Association.

I used to support the NRA, but due to their incessant phone calls, using multiple phone numbers, I now refuse to do so!  Each unwanted call has a caller ID of: "TOLL FREE".

From April 7 to April 14, I have received 7 calls from 7 different phone numbers from the NRA.  I've listed the numbers in order and the time and date they have called:

These incessant calls have become extremely irksome!  This is just over the period of April 7 to April 14.  They have called countless times prior to this!

10 Apr 13: Received another call on my land-line. CALLER ID showed [OUT OF AREA] they did not leave a message.

This is NOT the National rifle Association, the group fighting for our 2nd Amendment rights. This is a lowlife scammer group.

Due to the software and the computerized telephone system, anybody can load any text for display on your CALLER ID. There are a couple of default IDs that show up, such as [OUT OF AREA] or [UNAVAILABLE]. It does not mean that it is the 'real' ID of the calling group.

Please do as suggested by "JUSTICE READY" and submit complaints to the FTC and the FCC and the Penn State Attorney General.

Caller ID always lists the caller as "Unavailable."
Some of the numbers shown on Caller ID include - 866-725-2769 - 877-728-3486 - 877-743-1358 - 866-275-3315 - 888-483-8328 - 888-484-7594 - 877-837-4130.

This collection agency will call numerous times per week from allegedly different numbers, then cease calling for one to three months, and then began calling again. When their call has been answered by voice mail, they have never left a message.

It is my understanding that this specific debt collection agency tells its customers that its collection rate is 100%. It appears that this agency is not concerned with collecting the debt from the actual debtor. It appears that its only concern is that it collects the alleged money owed. In other words, if they can harass you into to paying someone else's debt in order to get them to stop harassing you, they will. It is my understanding that this type of debt collector gets paid by the amount of money collected and not by getting the actual debtor to pay the debt. (Some unscrupulous debt collection agencies have been known to demand identifying information from you to "prove" you are not who they are attempting to locate and then use that information to report the debt as being yours to credit reporting agencies. In order to have the entry removed from their credit report, some people have been known to pay off a debt that they did not incur.)

I have filed complaints against NRA with the FTC and the FCC. Perhaps if enough people file complaints against NRA with these government agencies, NRA and its collection practices will be investigated.

THEY CALL DAILY. NO ONE IS THERE. THEY HANG UP AS SOON AS THE MACHINE PICKS UP.

I've had 6 robocalls in the past week. All from the NRA. We've NEVER had any business with them and we are on the Do Not Call Register. This is harassment and I'm filing a complaint.

NRA member, VERY seldom get calls from NRA. Have found these low life collection agencies use
any means they can to collect a debt. I've been called about 9 people I've never even heard of let alone
ever met trying to pump me for information. My phone number MIGHT have belonged to one of them, but
nine. Don't think so.

Maybe once a week, occasional incoming call during the day.No message recorded, just a hang-up. My phone ID's it as [UNAVAILABLE]...this is a just a low-life scammer group of losers.

This is NOT the National Rifle Association of America. I am a 25 year member, and we do NOT engage in annoying phone calls for ANY purpose. We limit our phone calls to our member group, RARELY do we do any out-reach calling. We already have an image problem from the virulent anger of the Anti-Second Amendment crowd. We don't need to anger anyone else.

The NRA does make calls for money get them all the time.
