What a joke. You'll notice that the scammers will try to slide a ringer answer in to make people think they are legit!! 1 positive does not negate a long list of negatives! Only a real moron would actually believe the positive that didn't even say who they people were, or how they "helped".  (A few initials with no further name/contact info, etc. does not a valid answer make!)

They have called my NO-CALL listed cell daily for months. Answered once and got nothing but a partial recording that made no sense and no option to talk to a live person. Since then I just let it ring. Turned them in to the FCC twice and they stopped calling for a month or so. Back at it again, so time for another FCC complaint.

They have called me every day for 3 months.  I have repeated asked them to stop calling me, stop harrassing me, stop stalking me - I even tried yelling at them, but all to no avail.  Finally, I got an air horn and waited until I got a real person and let them have an ear full.  They have not bothered me since.

They try to say they're calling on behalf of my mortgage holder- what a scam!  That the first thing out of their mouth is  a lie is reason enough not to go any further with them.  I work at my mortgage holder (employed by the bank that holds my loan) so I know dang well that we don't farm out our clients' info to 3rd parties.

The caller identified their company as Land Home Financial. She stated they wanted to give me some HARP2 information on behalf of my PMI (Primary Mortgage Insurance) holder, but never stated the name of the PMI. She did rattle off my address a few times, however.

Got a call from this number originally, googled it and found this site.  I never answered it to begin with, I don't answer  numbers I don't know.  These calls started shortly after the government shut down, and I'm on the DNC list.  Anyway, in the last week I've been getting calls from my area code with 858 prefixes and then different last 4 numbers pretty much in sequence.  They never leave a message, and they only call once every other day.  Tonight I decided to call the last number back to see what I could find.  A guy by the name of Lance Rios answered the phone after the usual recorded response, and I started peppering him with questions.  He first told me that if there was a recording saying that they were a debt collector to disregard that, that they were having problems with their phones.  I then proceeded to ask him WHY he was calling my number, who he was looking for, if he WAS a debt collector, if he was a telemarketer, and the list goes on.  He told me who he was looking for, and I told him I had no idea who this person was, and that my number needed to be removed from their data base immediately.  He then asked me if I owned my own home, and I told him that was personally none of his business.  Right then and there I knew he was a telemarketer.  He said that he would remove my number from their data base and that I would not receive any more calls from them.  We'll see.  If not, I'll see what I can do to stop the calls since the DNC website is down.
The information I did get from him though was:  NuView Financial   1920 Main Street  # 700   Irvine, CA  92614.  Hope this helps.

They have changed their tactics, and are now calling from a phone bank that is in my area code (205). I still don't answer unless I know who it is, and they still don't leave a message. I know that it's the same people because I will call the number back after 9 PM and the voice mail has the same message as the 877#: "You have reached NuView Financial. Our office is currently closed...". I have tried to Google them, and there seem to be several different companies with various ways of spelling "New View". The one that seems to match what these folks are doing is spelled "NuView". If I ran a mortgage bank, and these folks are this shady, I would think twice about using them to  reach out to my customers and claim that they are calling because my company gave out my customers' information to them. Be careful, friends! The housing sharks are still out there, and they used our tax money to regrow their teeth!

Call an average of once per weekday. I don't answer unknown numbers unless they leave a voice mail to tell me who they are. The no call list is useless for this type of call, so I just don't answer and let them waste their time.

My house is under construction and doesn't have an OC (Certificate of Occupancy) and no one will refinance without one.

I also notice that when enough people post about these scanners,1 or 2 posts saying they are legit will suddenly appear. (You know who I'm referncing here and I hope he or she is reading this!) The controller of this website should have a record of their email addy to use as a starting point for identifying these law breakers. I'm a retired Fed, but still have friends in the DOJ. I can forward any info to people who enjoy raining on scammer's parades. I'm only too happy to assist.

From the other posts on here, if these are folks cold calling to try and refi your home mortgage, they are scammers or else they are stupid. I live in a small garden home and don't have a mortgage, so the best way these folks can "help" me is by riding a bus off a cliff. Or, they could stop calling me. I'm not holding my breath for either of those options to happen anytime soon.

I have a couple of ways to deal with these parasites. First, I let the phone ring three full times before I pick up. I pick up and don't say anything for 2-3 seconds. If it is a computer autodialer, 80-90% of the time the computer will hang up thinking it has gotten a voice mail or answering machine. After 2-3 seconds, I say our company name, but don't give out my name. That way they don't automatically have a name if they call back and get someone else. If I still get a person and they insist, I tell them my name is "Richard Smith"(it's not). It is none of their business what my real name is, they are telescammers who are breaking the law. If they persist in calling over and over again, I tell them that my boss is available, and then I use a sports air horn right next to the phone. What are they going to do, sue me? "Your Honor, I was illegally telescamming and they deafened me!" Good luck with THAT argument. The judge might give me a medal. Reporting these "people"(I use that term loosely) to the Do Not Call Registry is futile, they are usually spoofing their phone number anyway. If you have the time, have some fun with them. See how long they will stay on hold or still be on the line if you put the phone down. Take your cordless into the bathroom and have an extended "deposit" at the Porcelain Bank, complete with very loud fake sound effects. Tell them you ARE the boss and listen to their sales pitch, never saying yes to anything, but always saying that you will look at your numbers and see what you can do. Some scammers will record any affirmative answer you give and then splice it into a call and bill you for whatever they are selling, using that as evidence of an order. Waste as much of their time as you can, because that keeps them from scamming other people, and it can be a really fun stress reliever! Anything that we can do to make this less profitable for these ticks on the butt of humanity is a plus. Feel free to pass this on or add to it with your fun ways of taking back your phone lines. If these idiots would get a real job, the world would be a better place for all of us.
