I, too, received a call with the same message...the recording said to call this 877 number, but it came from 304 460-4848, Buckhannon, WV.  I will not answer as I am not the person they are asking for and that person does not live here.  I've heard that if you call back or try to explain they will be relentless, but I wish they would stop calling as it in unnerving!!

I've been getting a lot of calls from this ph# (877-764-0230) automated of course...as if I am stupid enough to answer...I don't owe you nothing....I know the law fools.

Trying to collect on a bill that was discharged in a bankruptcy in 2010, total harassing collection company.   Poor business, try to attack you on a personal level instead of professional handling of business.

I received a call from these sand maggots today. They were calling about my granddaughter, who supposedly took out a PDL in 2007, and never repaid it. She, allegedly took this out using an online source. They said she would be arrested at her house or her job, if I did not pay $895 before 5pm tomorrow. I laughed in his scamming face. I said that I knew for A FACT that she did NOT get online and apply for any type of loan! He got really, really pissed and said that I had better warn her, because they were coming to get her.

I KNOW this isn't even remotely true, because my granddaughter wasn't even BORN until 2008 and she is 4 1/2 years old. I told this sand-maggot this and he said F*** YOU and hung up the phone!

The law office is Jeffery Abate. They keep calling my office for someone who has not worked here for over 3 years. I have asked numerous times for them to stop calling and yet they keep calling. You would think a real attorney would be smarter than that, If you google them they are some collection agency... I'm sure just another scammer.

Got a call saying i owed to cash net usa payday advance in the amount of 500 (which became 600 after 15 minutes) for a payday advance. I had done business with cash net usa before and i was paid up and explain the last amount i paid. I asked for many information since i immediately knew it was a scam.
they did not have my checking account number correct..
they did not have my employer name correct..
besides the fact that that he said he was going to have a civil attorney take me to court for double the amount(500) and then at the end he said the load was actually 600... I asked him to mail me first.
he asked for a credit card number or else he would mark it refusal to pay and give it to another lawyer to take to court...
i told him to mark it as a refusal to pay and mail me a bill or else he would be contacted by a lawyer also..
he then tells me he will send me an email with the information.. OK.. and that i would have till 7pm my time(since he said he is in new york). I did tell him that I collect unemployment ..aw!

Got a call from them today said they were calling from a law office, however when I look up the fax number they give me I find the website listed below. They sell debts to multiple companies, it doesn't matter if you have paid your debt off or not, they still sell it. They will not stop calling you no matter what proof you supply or who you file a complaint with. If the do stop it will just be whomever they sold your information too. the stupidest thing I ever did was take out a PDL, even though I paid them off, I still receive daily calls and probably will the rest of my life, not to mention my information is being sold all over the world so identity is now anyone's, people be smart don't ever take out a PDL its not worth the years of harassment your will receive. Nice try.  In no state in this country can a wage garnishment be issued without a judgment.  Even child support orders are issued by the court system.  No one can have their wages garnished unless there is a court hearing.  If you didn't attend the court hearing, that is on you, but you can't say "they never took me to court, just garnished my wages."

I, too, filed a complaint with the Attorney Grievance Committee, but I was NOT told anything about a "scam."  In fact, I was told sent a response from Jeffrey Abate himself, where he blatantly lied about his office's tactics, about calls to me and about what I claimed I was told.  The investigator bought his bull hook, line and sinker.

Everyone, here is where you need to send a complaint...if everyone who has to deal with this low life office does that, he could be disbarred...

Regardless of the numerous shills (harold, peter, etc)...  The reality is if they are an honest debt collector they need to state that, not state they are something they are not.  

Secondly wage garnishments can only be assigned with a judgement (meaning you go to court).  Given the amounts usually sited... it's small claims court.

Personally I'd rather deal with a real attorney as they are far more intelligent and reasonable.  A majority of the shills shown on the board here are doing nothing more than trying to get people worked up so they will open there wallet (weather they owe a legal debt or not).  In my case I don't but I still receive threatening calls like this... and nary a legal document, much less any proof of any debt (which btw they must provide to you).
