Received the same call from Gary and Howard from the Power company about the lightbill...18777649971

We are receiving complaint calls from our customers.  The messages they are getting are paraphrased as follows: "My name is Gary (or Howard) from the power company; please call 1-877-764-9971 (or 1-855-240-6604) asap I need to speak with you regarding your light bill."  Our customers, of course, misinterpret these scam messages as a problem with their bill with US.  This is unacceptable and we WILL be asking any other customers who experience this fraud if they are currently on a no call list and advise if they are to file a complaint immediately.

Received a message on the answering machine saying it was Gary with the light company.  Said he need to talk with me about my light bill.

Gary left a message on home answering machine on a Wednesday which was 2 wks ago on 6th of June 2012.

The message is: "This Gary. I'm calling to discuss your light bill. Please call me back at 1-877-764-9971."

Received a 2 call from Tom who left a message on home answering machine on Tuesday, June 19, 2012.

The message is: "This is Tom.  I'm calling about your light bill.  Please call me back at 713-489-2033.

I've checked the numbers listed on my electric billing statement.  The telehone numbers do not match.  I called my electric provider and spoken to customer service rep. about scam calls.

"This is Gary with the power company"

Got a call this am from "Tony" same scenario. Sounds like total BS to me.  Just 'cause I was curious I called the 877#.  A recording comes on that they are doing their best to connect me and that I shouldn't have to wait more than two minutes...lots of clicking in the background.  Sounds like a scam.  Hung up.

This do***ebag called me as well, sounded very southern and repeated twice. Thing is, I've never spoken with my power company in 5 years,  + I disconnected my original phone number, so it's a total scam.

I received a call from "Gary from the power company about the light bill." definitely not from my electric provider!

"Gary" called me, too.  I called the number and got a recorded message that I would be on hold for approximately 3 minutes and 15 seconds.  I decided it must be a scam to make me rack up phone charges, so I hung up.

"Gary" from the power company about an overdue light bill.  Said to return call the the 877 764 9971 number.  Caller id number was 713 489 2033. SCAM

I got the same message on my answering machine. Weird thing is, my electric company doesn't have the house phone on their records, only my cell, plus he never says WHICH company, just "the power company.

The message plays twice on my answering machine, exactly the same, so I think it's a definite scam and they were just smart enough to use a real person to make the recording that is played. I didn't call back.

May be linked to other repetitive telemarketers that leave msgs.
What are we paying our hard-earned taxes for?  (Who's the real scammers?)

Just got a call from this moron.. sad the scam call centers are now abusing the elderly.. wtf is a light bill??

Got the same message.   I don't call back people named "Gary".

"Gary" said he was with the "power company" and wanted to discuss my "light bill".  Those are really old terms.  I did not return the call.
