My brother received a call from this number today. They told him I had listed him as a reference on something?? I have no idea what? They wanted my address and other info thankfully my brother did not provide. They continued to tell him there was a law suit against me and I was being sued and they needed to get in contact with me ASAP!!! They left the names Robert Mitchell and Scott Sweeney attys at law. I googles the names and found this page with the same number they left with him for my return call. I have no idea who these people are and I'm not aware of anyone who is trying to sue me?

This just happened to me, they threatened me and my wife with a to come legal action against me. I have never had a debt or legal issue with anyone in my life? All they wanted was my address and other info, when it got to the point of asking my ss# I backed off and said they could contact my family estate attorney and then he got really starange and changed his tune. He then told me it was simply to verify an address and personal info for paperwork on his desk. I checked the so called law firm he mentioned later and it does not exist. This has been reported by me to the bbb and also my local police. This is whats known as a "phishing scam" the detective told me.

Under no circumstances, give these people any personal information regarding yourself or others!

I received a call from a Mr. Powers for my daughter.  They said there was going to be a legal action against her that was going to Court.  I was her main contact.  I asked why they didn't call her and he told me they would if they had her number.  I didn't give it to them.  He told me to take the information.  The Attorney were Robert Mitchell and Scott Sweeney at 1-877-780-4519 and gave me the case number.  Then he asked me to repeat the information he had given me. He had no further information as to what type of complaint or case it was.  He told me I needed to call her right away before they took her to court.  I asked how they could take her to court without a summons, and how could they send her one without her address or phone number. Powers then became rude and said: "I don't think you understand what I'm saying".  I told him I didn't want to talk to him any more and hung up.  I think it is a scam and don't feel obligated to pass the information on.

Got this call just now, then my wife when I didn't answer. Same as the above when I called them back. Trying to use scare tactics to get information. Big question is how did they get my wife's number and how did they see her as an emergency contact. Public records maybe? I think the guys real name is Phil something. Initially called from 651-964-1720. I told him I would deal with the lawyers, again, same ones as above. No reason I should be in legal action for anything so let them bring it.

Recieved a call from this number today, saying I had a "reissued complaint" against me and I was being summoned to court. I called 877-780-4519, which is the law office of Mitchell & Sweeney. Sweeney answered initially and put RUDE Mitchell on the phone. Mitchell stated he has been retained by someone to bring me into court but he doesn't have the file in front of him and needed the case #. He located my name and I verified that. He mentioned something about claims verification but had no clue why I was calling HIM. Indicated that I should stop being defensive and be an adult. Told me he was a smart person, which was IRRELEVANT to his business number calling my phone, THREATENING me to court. I wouldn't let him finish his rant, he finally said "Good luck in court" & hung up. LOL!!!!! Debt collectors wanting to be REAL attorneys!!!

Called me from a cell phone at home for an address verification. He gave me a case number and told me to call 1 877 780 4519 and ask for Robert Mitchell or Scott Sweeny about a legal matter to see if it could be cleared up before he sent the summons out.
Called the number on my Skype account  I talked with the receptionist, gave him the case number but no name. When I was asked for my name I asked him for the firms address so I could verify the call. He put me on hold to get the address and came back on to say he was transfering me to someone who could help.
Robert Mitchell who said he was in NY then took my call. I gave him my case number and said it was not on his computer, then said the name on complaint #. I asked him to give me his attorney #, He said is this some kind of joke or prank then hung up.

I got a call on my cell 3-6, on a new # mind you, with a young guy stating he was from a dept. to verify address for summons on a court case, then I call the number given to me to reach the law firm the very next day. I called and first spoke to Mike Anderson -receptionist gave him the given case # didn't find anything; had no clue what I was talking about. I even asked him if this was the company who has a group hacking their calls and proceeding from there to badger people about false cases and demanding money. He was taken aback & said let me get someone to help you & quickly put me on . Puts me on hold & says Mitchell can hopefully help me when connected it goes straight to voicemail. Then 5 minutes later a # saying "no caller id calls back" & doesn't leave a voicemail. I never gave the receptionist my callback number...and any professional company leaves a voicemail.

Someone called me, asked me if I knew ___ ___ and told me to give this number to that person concerning a 'court case' that's open and needs to have the correct address verified. The caller said his name was Matt Powers from Claims Verification Department and that I should pass on a message to call  877.780.4519 and ask for Scott Sweeney or Robert Mitchell. He couldn't give any information about how he got my number or who asked him to call me. I hate being threatened by strangers!

yeah i got the same kind of call the other day they actually called me directly on my cell but i was at work didnt have time right away to call back plus it seemed a little weird because they did not give me any information except it was an address varification.  but i did look online and saw these comments which sounded lioke my call. however i forgot to call and 3 days later i received a summons to appear in court at my new address and it had the same names on there that i was told to call the other day. the reason i am writing this is even though its my fault i did not call after i read this because i thought was not serious maybe a scam like he said and it was not i am now dealing with this legal issue, so if i can help someone else like i wish this did when i looked at it then great.

The people calling from this number even called my child's cell. Gives the names Matt peters Robert Mitchell and Scott Sweeney .

I got the same call. I will be ignoring the call as well since it seemed very suspicious!

I got a call from a local number on my cell phone with a kid who said there was a legal action against me and seemed "surprised" when I said I didn't know what he was talking about (poor acting job really...) and gave me the number 1-877-780-4519 to contact about it as it is a "time sensitive" matter and he had no other information to give me.  I'm probably going to ignore this as I have heard this is an attempt to get personal information from people under the threat of legal action.  This is the second type of call I've received of this nature.
