Got the following message today:
sms.alert@visa.com (card blocked) Alert For more info call 1-877-362-4033 Thank You
Called from a landline and it said my call could not be completed. Sounded odd so I called my carrier (T-Mobile). Not only did they suggest posting the number in their forums, but offered to credit my account if I didn't have unlimted text. They also said there was no way to block these people from sending it again.

My husband received the same text message on his T-Mobile cell phone just today.  All these listings are dated July 15th; today is August 22, 2009.  They are still at it,  or started up again.  Now they're using the phone    number 877 581-9021.

I received a text message today from 3507.  Same message to call 877-269-9842.  I called it and received an automated system advising my card has been blocked and to enter my number.  I just hung up.  Got a call from my husband telling me he'd received the text.  Then it appeared on my 11 year olds phone. All messages received today. The only thing we have in common is our carrier - T Mobile.  I called T Mobile and yes they are aware of the problem.  That is very scary  - has someone hacked into T Mobile or is it an inside job?

Just received 3521 alert to call 877-269-9842 and when called.  Text message said my VISA was blocked and to call that number to unblock it.
They answered the phone as CreditVISA and asked for me to enter my credit card number.  Can't get anyone with dialing "zero"

On July 14, I received the same SMS text alert reported below, claiming to be from Visa.  I was suspicious immediately as I had never had a communication via SMS from any of my cards, and because the Visa account was not identified. I checked here and am glad I did.

I received the same text.  On Friday the text said it was an SMS Alert from Mastercard.  I didn't call back.  Tuesday night I received the same text, but this time it said it was a SMS Alert from Visa.  I don't even have a VISA.  Obviously a scam

I actually received 2 text messages, one right after the other on 07/14/2009. Same message, "SMS Alert from visa". I did a reverse number lookup and it is not readily identified as any Visa bank. I then decided to report it to the FCC at http://esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htm. I am hopefull the more people complain to FCC greater chances are someone will be caught...

It's not just T-mobile.  I got it on my AT&T cell phone last evening.  Since my VISA account through a Federal Credit Union was hijacked a few months ago and a new card issued, I'm reluctant to use ANY Visa account.  For now, I'm a MasterCard user, though I recognize that every company is vulnerable.

I rec'd the text last night... Is it me, or does it seem to be an event primarily on T-mobile's service. Obviously, the recording is NOT from Visa and you should IGNORE the message. Ima research with some people in my banks fraud department and also give T-Mobile a piece of my mind.

I called the number back - it was offering something as a getaway through Visa. When I dialed the number it said that the call could not be completed. Why is that? I'm guessing it was because I called from a number not connected to the Visa credit card. What a scam!

Well, I was dumb enough to fall for it. So, I called the security department of my bank to get my card deactivated.

You should know that tollfree numbers like 877 can see your number even if you have caller ID blocking. just a friendly PSA from your friendly neighborhood hacker.

SMS.Alert@visa.com. Call us at 1-877-826-7833 etc..... This is a scam. Called the number, automated answer prompts you to enter your card number, expiration date and pin number and than tells you that they don't recognize the account.
Went through the process with phony numbers in hope to get a real person.
Obviously no one comes on the line, would have loved to give them a piece of my mind.
