A PERSON BY THE NAME OF "RAY", SAID SHE WORK FOR UNIVERSAL FIDELITY, SAID SHE DOES DO COLLECTION FOR AMERICAN EXPRESS. AFTER I TOLD HER THAT I DON'T HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO PAY AT THIS TIME, SHE START CALLING ME AT ANY TIMES, SOMETIMES 2 OR 3 IN THE MORNING SAYING THAT SHE WANT TO HAVE SEX WITH ME. THIS PERSON SHOULD NO BE WORKING AND HAVING ACCESS TO PERSONAL INFORMATION OF OTHERS.

universal fidelity lp is trying to help the consumer who are in debt. however they do not understand.The people calling them are peole like them who is just trying to help....

Ray just harrassed me too and the person they were looking for doesn't even live at my address.

I got a call from Jesse at this number. He assured me he was not a collection company, but from American Express its self. I do not feel comfortable dealing with a company that lies.

This is a collection company....for....American Express out of Houston Texas.
Offer of 30% is only the ridiculous marked up rates.....payoff is only what was owed??? No money..no credit(destroyed)...no job..and they want me to pay only $15,135.75...all at one time! turn over paper and IT states" still responsible for the other amount not paid in settlement!!! HAHAHA

You still have to stay within the laws to collect a debt.  Calling someone multiple times in one day and advising your nine year old niece to tell uncle if he does not phone back the police will come to the house to get him is not within collection laws.  So do not go on your bandwagon about taking care of your debts to collectors who not only break one law, but several.  The fair collection act is in place for a reason.

You need to write them a certified letter.. Then if they continue to call you can sue them for up to $1500 per call.

UF contacted me by phone at work claiming to be AMEX.  They offered to forgive 60% of my balance if I paid $290.38 for 24 months. I thought to myself, that sounds great. The man on the phone stated that an offer was sent in the mail and I should have received it.  I did not.  They insisted I make a first payment about one week after the call and that I make monthly payments automatically debited from my account the 3d day of each month.  He passed me onto a woman named Peggy who took my personal info.  I took the deal before I realized they were not AMEX. I was not in time to stop that first payment. It was debited as American Express UF. When I asked Peggy about American Express UF, she did not answer the question.  I closed and opened a new checking account.  I sent a certified return receipt letter to CF stating that I am on to their sham and that I would not make the payments simply because they deceived me.  I sent the info to the AZ Attorney General Consumer complaint.  I took a call from Peggy at work and she was adamant that she worked for AMEX.  I told her I was onto to her because a AMEX customer service rep told me that the account was sold to CF.  Peggy said that was wrong and which number I called.  I told her it did not matter which customer service number I called.  I told her she was not following the law because I did not receive anything in writing about the offer.  I just received an offer with the AMEX logo on the envelope, but the address is the one we all know in Houston, TX as well as the 877-832-8325 phone number.  I have until 30 Aug to make a payment with a coupon.  Letter was signed by Liwen Liang, Vice President of Collections, American Express.  I, too, find their business hours to be strange.  It is not that I do not want to pay my account off.  I have had at least 4 different collection agencies contact me and they were all unreasonable or abusive in some way.  I told CF about the other collectors and he apologized for AMEX.  AMEX turned my account over to collections after just one negotiation, which was more a demand on their part. The monthly payments were not possible. I have worked with Discover and Chase to bring my accounts up-to-date and I am up-to-date and paying on time.

Thanks for these reports.  I just got one call from this # 877-832-8325 today, and since I do not know the number, I did not answer it, and they did not leave me any message.

They call me INSISTING they are American Express, but they are not. They are just some scummy collection agency. I would be hesitant to pay them any unresolved debt. I have heard from many different sources that many times they take your money and never go back and revise your credit report. I would just advise them that you are recording the number of times they call and will be filing a complaint with the Attorney General and FCC. Also send them a certified letter in the mail advising them you no longer wish to be contacted.

LOL this must be the lowest of the low they are calling me for a debt that I have spoken to at least 4 other collection agencies about.  I will not pay them either.  Tell them to call wall street they are the ones that cost me my job. F them alllll.  They call and said they are American Express lying sacks of s***.

I received a call on my cell phone from this number at 11:30 p.m last night!!  This would be the 4th call I've received but I've not yet been able to answer any of their calls due to the times at which they call.  They have not left any messages.

This company was advised to no longer call me.  They called immediately back and I advised them not to call me again to place anything they have to say to me in writing. I hung up they called back immediately within seconds and I asked what part of harrassment did he not understand and that if they called again I would file charges for harrsment.  I again received a call yesterday evening at 8:45 PM. There are attorneys that do nothing but file charges and get rich off this, they do stop the harrassment.

I too had a similar instance. I asked him what part of harrassment didn't he understand.  Cell phones record the date and time calls are received.  So a record is on file for the amount of times they have called since being advise not to call.

they keep calling me only to when i answer they hang up..and do not say anthing i just got this phone number so i guess that they want someone else but they need to stop calling me.

Have been called 3 times by these folks saying they are American Express. Left no details in message. Called back and some guy answered saying american express this is Jesse....I just hung up. I don't even have one of these cards,it's creepy.

Suspicious indeed - if you call back there is a recording now that says they are American Express and lists their variable business hours starting with - noon -8pm M, T and differing hours for W,TH,F,S.
Either scammers or telemarketers..........just beware and don't pick up.

I got a call from this number and the man assured me he was with American Express. He said he was NOT a collection company. He lied to me. He could be reached by calling 877-832-8325 ext. 2713 and asking for Jesse. I now do not feel comfortable talking to him at all since he lied to me already.
I found out it was Universal Fidelity by Googleing the number.

dude left a nasty message. don't know who he thinks that he is.. but he was an a hole. furthermore, we recently moved to this new area, so probably it was addressed to the previous owner- not sure, but just a guess. what the hell... didnt leave any reason that we should call him, but left a message saying that better call him or else he would pursue it further.

dude, but for what- who is the person you are trying to call and what is the matter ( if missed payment etc.) don't you think that you ought to leave some details..;

I received a call from Universal fidelity on my cell phone. I dont give that number out. They left a message for my son. Saying they could help him with a lwasuit that was against him and that they were the ONLY company that could help.How do you like that!. I called them to find out what was going on and the person had a heavy India accent.They ask what number they called... That was my big mistake I gave it to them. STUPID! Then I told them I was going to report them

UFC tried to leave a message on my home phone #.  I owe no one any debt for which they should be calling me.  Therefore, I went online and found their 800 number (which answers in India, by the way).  I told them if they call my number again, I will call my attorney general's office as well as the Better Business Bureau.  The man "Adam" (who knows what his real name is, indicated that he could not bring up my information to type in that information, which, of course, is bunk!  If they do call me again, I will do as promised.

did you ever get this resolved. i had an old dell account that went to collections in 03 i paid it off in full but it still shows up on my credit report as a charge off. when i called ufc they told be it was paid but that the cant release the information to me

whats funny is that most of the reports i have read no one has called them back to stop the calls but they just wanna jump on the suing band wagon... does that mean since i am a bill collector myself that when I get cussed out that not only do you have to pay your bill but i get to sue YOU for defemation of character, terroristic threats, the aggrevation of telling you the address of the company so you can kick my a** for calling you??? you have to work with people... yeah it may take a little of your time to figure out what is going on but it can be something as simple as they are getting the number from someones credit report, or www.whitepages,com.... i mean come on now... we dont go go work to harrass you... we go to work to help people get rid of their debts...
