I just got the same call from Samantha davis. Also called me claiming to be sheriffs deputy. Gave me the sheriff's name. I wasn't sure what to do.

Whose # is this? Any help is appreciated.

I recieved a call first from what seemed to be the local police department (phone number was even local and belonged to the police dept).  Background noises and everything sounded legit.  I was told they tried to serve me at an address I have not been at for well over a year.  I was given a phone number to call to settle everything.  I thought, okay, I will call shortly after I verify the number that called me was in fact from the local police (it was their fax number).  Within minutes I received a call from this number.  The lady was Samantha Davis.  I explicitly asked for the name of the company that I originally owed the debt to.  She was unable to give this to me "The clerk's office has our paperwork that will have that information".  ---Having heard this type of call before, I argued with her that if she could prove it was valid, I would pay it.  She and I yelled at each other for a bit and she eventually hung up.

I called my local police department (I am not looking for any trouble, valid or not!).  From a local police officer...."I believe that is a scam and you should not worry about it." They would not serve papers if we did not have a proper address. I pay my property taxes, the police have access to my current address.  

THIS IS A COMPLETE SCAM!!!  Please do not give them your money!!!!

I always look up unknown numbers if I receive a call.

I obtained a call from this Bill Levitz and Associates with the same phone number. The same sort of scenario but they did give me a bogus company name or at least one I have never dealt with before. Report it to your local authorities. Do not give money. It was verified by local authorities where I reside that this "law firm" is a scam and that the fact that they have my social security number is frightening, but do not give in . Contact your local authorities.
They can further verify if there is an actual case or lawsuit pending in the court system.

its all a scam and dont fall for it. they are scumbags of the earth and tried to take money from hard working folks as yourself. you wont be arrested and no one will take you to court on this. they cant and you might want to call them back and let them know that you know its a scam and you have reported them to the FBI and your local authorities.

It's against the law for them to threaten to sue without following through, which I have a feeling they are trying to do.  Sounds like a scam.

Received a call from this number 877-853-8813. Law firm of Bill Levitz & Associates called me and said I was being sued for owing some money to a cash advance place.  I have never taken money out from such a place.  They said I would be served with papers from the Sheriff's office within 48 hours if I didn't settle the claim.   I couldn't get information about who was suing me; no company name.

I have to call back today to settle or else!   Has anyone heard of them or been approached by them?
Please help.
