I received a call from them twice in one day. I tried to call back after listening to my voice-mail, but all I got was hold music for 2 hours. I was able to do a couple loads of laundry and eat lunch. I hung up after that. Definitely a scam.

I received a message while I was in class from them saying I won a prize and to call them back. When I called back the first time, like an idiot, they knew me by name. The second time I called back I talked to an angry black woman who wants me to put in a good word for her ro her supervisor. When we got on the phone he sounded super irritated and was very rude, so that was my first indication that something wasn't right. Then the supervisor started asking me questions about what kind of card I use and the expiration date on my card, I told them I wasn't sure because I don't carry my wallet to class with me. After reading his blog and all the posts I called them back and told them to never call or try to scam me or anybody else and yelled at them for a minute, the lady seem pissed at me that I didn't want the "$ 1,000" and I just said no don't f*cking call me again and hung up. I'm watching y bank account for the next couple days...

i received a called from this number.there was a lady saying that i had won a $1000 gift card.she never said anything about magazines.she told me that i can go online and shop anything i want.she then asked me how old i am and then i told her that um 17.she then told me that i must be at least 19 years old to get the gift card and she hung me up........SO PEOPLE BEWARE OF THESE PEOPLE!!!!!!!..THEY ARE REALY BAD.THEY CAN RUIN YOUR LIFE.........

I got a call from this number regardless that my number is on Do not call list.

We JUST got this call and they hung up on my husband when he told them he was NOT giving them his credit card number.  He was told he got a $1000 shopping spree too.  He called back, they knew his name, they would NOT give out their names either.  Said they were Reading America but their website was www.selectyourgifts.com  My husband is going to turn it into the Attorney General tomorrow so they can look into it.

Recieved multiple calls and a message left for me that said, "This is Asha, and I have very good news for you.  Please call back at your convenience" or something along those lines.  When I returned the call, I was put on hold for quite some time, and I never got an answer.  About 10 minutes after waiting on hold, I remembered hearing about certain fraudulent calls that are just ways to get me to wait on hold and they then cost me money as I wait on hold. As soon as I thought of this, I felt pretty stupid for even half way falling for it, and I hung up.

i got a call yesterdaqy saying i won 1000$ shopping spree on the internet, all they needed was my credit card info, luckily i dont have one, i was going to believe it till i looked the number up on this site.

Just ignore is... that's the best way.

shoot... i got as same as others.. the guys also knew my sister's name even we're international student. damn it...  i thought some company or bank which i use selling my information just like my hometown. but how can i notice this number or block this damn number?

got a live person (african american gentleman) who
knew my name. He told me I had won $1000 dollars
for an internet shopping spree and that I would be
mailed something. Then asked me which credit card
I used most often. I told him that I used none during which
moment there was an interruption to the line resulting
in a hung up call.

just got the same call as "ed" ^ i got the call the first time and got a live person (mine was a younger lady) she told me that i had been chosen for a $1000 online shopping spree, they would send the info to my house. She told me that it was mine to spend do whatever i just could not go over the $1000's. She asked me a question about my age and then credit/debit cards then asked me to hold while she transferred me to the manager for more information.. i was on hold for about 20 seconds then got an African American older lady. there was lots of background noise, but she was telling me something about how i would be given a free vacation (naming places) if i would try out a discount card all that was required was a small shipping and handling fee. then the call was interrupted and lost. i called back and they recognized me and re transferred me. i asked if what she was offering was required and she said "oh no not at all, its just something for you to take advantage of if you wanted" then she thanked me for calling back and for waiting and that was that. everyone i spoke too called me by name...scam??

Also the man was asking for my age, credit card #.... It was scary.

I stupidly filled out a survey from a website that I thought was for the Ellen show, but it was a scam and now this number keeps calling me.

I just filed a report with the Federal Trade Commission (http://www.ftc.gov/ftc/contact.shtm) and if enough people do the same thing maybe these suckers will be put out of business for a while.  There are several sights that have multiple complaints about this company on them.  I wish I had thought to research them before I gave them any information.  By the way, the complaint form is online for the Federal Trade Commission and you can give as little or as much personal info as you want.  You don't have to speak to anyone.

How are these people getting away with this for so long if it really is a scam?  The select your gifts website exists.  I actually was able to get through to an admin part and found that the company that runs it is located in Riveria Beach, FL.  Has anyone ever gotten the certificate for $1000?  The website states that you have to pay a $5.00 processsing fee on all orders and you are responsible for shipping and handling costs.  The site does not mention Read America though.

So this chick Ashley calls me saying i won and $1000 gift certificate, well my sister who sounds just like me answered my cell phone.  Thought it sounded good so she got in my wallet and gave them my credit card info and everything.  The good thing I thought was she wrote down the info, so the next day when I check my bank account(IT WAS CHARGED).  I called the customer service number and told them my sister answered their call on MY phone and I want it cancelled...they asked to talk to her(SHE DOESN'T LIVE WITH ME) they said since she is the one that agreed they had to talk to her. So they wouldn't cancel the order.  OK who is willingly going to call a company you lied to and tell them you pretended to be your sister because you thought you had 3-5 days to warn her about the SH*T you pulled?

i got a call from them after hours (all telemarketing calls are supposed to stop at 8:00 pm) i informed the guy of this and he responded that he's not a telemarketer and that i signed up for it and continued his pitch. had to hang up on him. now i'm looking to report them.

Just got a call from this number saying Congratulations to me for winning a prize! Then they asked for my credit card info.and it was so they could prove I was over 18...they come up with all sorts excuses to get your info! Don't give it to them under ANY circumstances...It is a scam and you will more than likely get your identity stolen!

THey called me on my cell and said I won 1000 dollar shopping spree due to my good credit rating, and to buy the 6 magazines at 49.90 a month for 20 months on July 16, 2010 and said I could cancel anytime once I receive notice in mail. they charged my card 49.90 the same day.  It is now July 24 and I still have not received anything from them. I tried to call the number and have been hearing "please continue to hold, your call is very important to us" for the past half hour. I feel like such a sucker.

I got a call three days ago (May 26) and was dumb enough to believe them.  I am going to contact someone to get out of this.

I got call from this number 4 times in single day asking for a guy named Dave. After telling them the first time that they had wrong number, they keep on calling three more times same day...... Can't believe this.
